AllShare Dongle Alternative, BD-E5300 Blue Ray Player - Galaxy S III Accessories

Just wanted to double check that Samsung's BD-E5300 Blue Ray player would be an alternative to the dongle that was released specifically for the Galaxy S III. They both have "AllShare" features. Please let me know. Thanks.

yep i use xbox and that works fine

Allshare(Play) and Allshare Cast are 2 different things.
Allshare Cast dongle is for device mirroring.
Allshare (Play) is only for playing movies, pics and songs on your TV you don't need a dongle for it just connect your tv to the same network.
It says Allshare feature with the BD player.

DLNA

So ...
I know how to use dlna to stream videos pictures and music to play on my tv and I'm not interested in that
WHAT I DO WANT TO KNOW.
Is there a way to stream my phones actual content to my tv over DLNA ? Like I want to be able to come home, switch on dlna , and see my phone's homescreen on my tv and then open up a video game like Final Fantasy 7 and play it. All streamed to my tv of course.
In my opinion that is what would make DLNA awesome.
Everything I search just mentions how to stream my phones content to my tv ...I want to actually mirror my phone.
And don't mention the mhl adapter I have that and it is a hassle ....

AllShare Cast wireless streaming dongle necessary if TV already has allshare?

Is there any advantage at all of purchasing a AllShare Cast wireless streaming dongle if my tv already has AllShare?
Can a Samsung Galaxy S3 stream video to two AllShare devices at once? (ie a tv with AllShare and a wireless dongle attached to a monitor)

The dongle is meant for non allshare tv... if you already have it on yours its already a compatible device and don't need the dongle. And yes it can share all at same time that's why its called allshare. The commercials showing multiple people looking at the same thing are real
But don't confuse allshare cast and allshare play. Cast makes the tv mimic everything you see on the phones screen. Allshare play is just DLNA file sharing

Thanks for the info! Whats the difference between allshare cast and allshare play (DLNA)? if my tv has allshare cast will it be faster than if I use a wireless dongle?
If I'm streaming to a tv with allshare cast and a wireless dongle to a monitor at the same time, will one be a bit slower than the other, or will the two be synced up?

first of all only the latest latest smart tv's can do allshare cast, second you need to have that app installed and it isn't out yet for most tv's, third, it isn't available to the mid to low end line, only the higher series have it
Hey guys, I just made a video explaining Allshare play/cast with examples in my Samsung TV! LE40C650 2010 model.
With the Allshare mobile app you can remotely access your pc and stream video in your tv. I show that!
My TV doesn't have AllShare Cast.

How can you be streaming through allshare if you tv does not have allshare??
I'm Greek but my youtube video has English subtitles click the "cc" button. All I said was that it doesn't have "AllShare Cast" which is a special feature.
It has the good old simple "AllShare play" feature!
This site says that any tv with dlna and wifi is ok.

AllShare Cast you can mirror the screen of your phone and play games in your big TV.
(2013 Samsung smart TVs models OR any TV with the AllShare Cast Dongle).

My TV is an older Samsung model and it doesn't have allshare cast, what you see in my video(the gaming part) is not real, it is for demonstration purposes only. (It's a video playing in TV and in the Galaxy S3)
Can any of the Samsung Monitors do this?
Is there a list of Samsung products that have allshare?
i found out with this program on android called : playto samsung tv
one can send video and other social videostuff to the tv.. strange thing when it starts playing on the tv just before its telling me it cant play the file i see the desktop of my s3 on my ES8000 tv :cyclops:,, this sorta seems to be able to stream the desktop to the tv so it seems. i cannot find any allcast stuff though. someone hopefully can make a program to establish this without the dongle as it seems working somewhat allready ?

Now, I know how much $h!t people give when you don't research, but I'd like to disclaim that I've looked at a lot of different posts (in xda) and other forums and am still at a loss to find allshare for the GS3.
I've tried the kyanAPPEND method, finding a stock rom and extracting it out of that, and a few other workarounds.
I'm still looking how to install the allshare framework and use it as it's intended.

What exactly do you want allshare for? There are 3rd party apps that do the same thing. Might I suggest imediashare or skifta.

Do any of these allow full mirroring? I think AllShare allows a full mirror image unless it is playing a video then the screen on the phone goes black to save battery.

That's a feature called AllShare Cast - different from the media sharing AllShare. There is no equivalent 3rd party option; it's a proprietary Samsung thing.
As of right now there is no way to use any of the AllShare components on non-TouchWiz ROMs... and it most certainly will never be possible.

Volume control?
Allshare allows control of your tvs volume as well, do these apps perform this function?
And does anyone actually know where to find allshare or are we all against the use of it? haha
Does anyone know of a similar app that will work with LG TVs?

It's not hard to find - take it from any stock ROM package. It just won't work on AOSP ROMs.
And yes, BubbleUPnP will (or at least should) control renderer (TV) volume.
I use my samsung galaxy tab to view content of my amdroid phone.. any app for this?

I like BubbleUpNP. Its on the play store and its free.
I use it with my BluRay player to stream content from my phone onto my TV. I can stream on the Xbox, PS3.
If you buy the license, I did, it lets you search through all the files on your phone and you can set up an internet server too, so you can stream to a device via the web.
Its pretty cool.

Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1803436 I have an epic4gtouch on cm10.1 that I'm about to try this on. I have tried all the other upnp/dlna apps and to me they are horrible and buggy even with the stock rom.. allshare has always worked great with my Samsung "non-smart"lcd tv with allshare (just has an ethernet input in the back) and my Samsung laptop running ps3media server. I hope the link helps you out, since only a couple people addressed your question and not tell you to try bubbleUpnp... Home dia is the closest decent one..

screen mirroring and video streaming to HDTV?

I am looking to find a good device that's compatible with my 10.1 2014 edition Note, and will stream video, along with screen mirroring if possible, all to my HDTV. I have a 32" Samsung smart TV that does this flawlessly but I want to also be able to do this with my 42" Panasonic Plasma TV (It has USB ports but does not appear to have DLNA or any method of streaming video since it does not have wifi built in.) I know there's the Samsung brand Allshare device, but I've heard quite a bit of negative feedback about it. Ultimately I want something that will be reliable, and will also stream 1080p video. I saw that there are various Miracast devices, but many that I have seen do not have especially great reviews. I saw that the Roku devices can send video to an HDTV but it seems that they only do this with select Android devices, and I wasn't able to find a list of compatible devices on the Roku.com website. Lastly I was also thinking that I could possibly stream video to my Panasonic TV if I got a wifi USB stick, but I'm not sure if this would allow DLNA/video streaming. Any help with finding a device for my tablet that would allow me to stream video to my TV would be most appreciated.

I've the AllShare Cast Hub and if work well with Note 10.1.
Better than using S3 or S4. With them I've a lot of random disconnections.
Unfortunately AllShare Cast Hub stream only at 720p ancd not at 1080p. On the box I can read 1080p, but I've NEVER got this kind of connection with S3, S4 or Note 10.1.
Thanks for the reply. I'll definitely consider the Allshare box, although I may just go with a hard wired MHL2 connection since I really want to get 1080p.
Just found this IOGEAR box that isn't released till 12/20/2013, yet it looks like it may be exactly what I'm looking for! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815290053
Guess I'll have to wait till its released to see how it performs, and if it works well with my tablet.
It's not screen mirroring, but have you checked out Google Chromecast? I don't have one, but it looks promising and may be the simplest and cheapest solution for what you're looking for.
Do you have a Samsung smart tv? I have a 6500 and my s4 and this note 10.1 2014 screen mirrors fine in 1080. It may be the TV you have? If you don't have a Samsung smart TV the the All share hub is likely what you're looking at to achieve your goal.

I tried the Chromecast and wasn't satisfied. On lifejacket there's a good article about the pros and con's http://lifehacker.com/google-chromecast-does-it-deserve-a-place-in-your-livi-945082974
I think a Roku will be a good solution for many people, but if you take time to read about all the miracast products you may find a really good and inexpensive way to do it.

I have been looking for a way to connect my note to my TV. My TV is 4 years old and not smart lol. So this IOGear box just streams files? or does it mirror the tablet on the tv? I use VLC player on my note. Is the playback sluggish or fast enough to watch large files?

I have an older plasma Panasonic that is somewhat "smart" but doesn't have built in wifi. The ioGear will work with just about any tv but I definitely needs an hdmi input, and I believe a usb input. Streaming runs beautifully even when running 1080p video files that are over 2 GB. I use MX player (the free version.)

If you want to stream films I beleive Plex with a (paid) plex pass will let your stream movies from your Tab to an xbox. I stream from my tab to my computer and TV. I quick searched and saw there is a Plex for XBOX 360 and One.
Ok. Thanks a lot guys. How rubbish is that though. It seems they have taken steps backwards with the tabs. I seen that plex, and seen you had to pay. Might as well get a usb to hdmi cable. Ahh well. Back to the drawing board. Thanks aagain
