Anyone using the Galaxy S3 with Ford's myTouch Sync system? I'm thinking about a Ford and what to know if I'm going to have any major issues.
I am running CM10 on an AT&T GS3.
All I really care about is being able to stream music (both from the device itself and from Mog and Amazon MP3) and being able to make and receive calls.
Thanks in advance,
David

Are you using the stock ROM or a custom?
Thanks again.
EDIT: I just saw your sig - I guess you're using stock Bell - thanks
have used both: started with LE8 then LG1, LH1 and now the JB Li2 leak -- used both stock and custom roms. Bluetooth has connected in all instances, never had an issue with either Sync in our Lincoln MKX or UConnect in my Avenger.

i had no problem for the 2+ years i was tethering and using it as my home internet. then one day a few months ago, i got the same message from tmobile. point is, it only takes one time. it has nothing to do with jelly bean or ics, or gingerbread. now i pay $15 a month to tether and use it as my home internet.
Alright, thanks. I hope that is not the case.
Does anyone else have any other experience after switching to jelly bean? Anyone replicate this problem or have an app that works?

Also, I have tried wireless tethering, which is based on same open source software.
It says it started tethering with errors and to check the log, which then says that the log doesn't exist and it can't open it. Same error with opengarden tethering.

my epic 4G has a wifi tether app ( the yallow one ) anyway when i use it to connect my Google Nexus 7" tablet before i update to 4.1.1 it works but after i updated to the latest jelly bean my nexus wont even find the signal anymore,
BTW i tried SVTP WiFi Hotspot and USB Tether - Lite it works but is it safe or does the carrier detect that , thanks
I am on Verizon, and I had a lot of issues when I first moved to jb on 4.1. Originally I used wireless tether app, as I used it on every other version I had. It would not work. I even tried using barnacle from the party site, and same thing.
I finally switched to 4.1.1, and just used the built in tether, and it has been working fine for about 3 weeks now. I never got a message about being to call tech support, but then again this is Verizon and I am not sure who your provider is.
It might be like someone said above about them knowing you are using it, and you need to call to set it up. If that is the case, that sucks.

Its finding a UA string reporting it as a desktop browser. Download a UA string spoofer for your desktop browser to make it report as a mobile browser.

Yup seems like jb broke the app, I can tether with the native app but on Sprint that knocks you off wimax and only leaves you with 3g. I can confirm its a jb thing because its working fine on my wife's evo that is still on 2.3 also worked fine on ICS. Like others it seems to start up fine but my tabblet won't pick it up.
something clever goes here...
After alot of hit and misses I finally got internet access using pdanet, foxfi, and enabling bluetooth network access. It's not the best but it was wiresless and free.

Same thing unable to tether since jellybean update to my Xoom.
Only connects via home wifi networks
For any Telus users - Drew Garen's BB JB for Bell works almost flawlessly with Telus. I dirty flashed from his 1.1 and have had no problems that I didn't already have on 1.1.

By the way these problems include poor interaction between Google play music and bluetooth, the same for Apollo, no wifi tether (but you can download an app from the market for this), and the keyboard reverts to swype after every shut down. Just put swift key in a folder on you front Page and open it up to fix.

Sorry, I just tried wireless tether app with no success. Tethering is still not working with DG's releases - - this almost sends me back to ics, which worked perfectly for me.

Reverted to Wanam for this very same reason. Also calls on Bluetooth sound very low which is a dealbreaker for me. Against the law around here to talk and drive without a headset or Bluetooth system. Other than these two issues its an extraordinary ROM.
Does anyone know if the File Sharing app included is compatible with any other phones, or just LGOG?
Has anyone tested android beam as well? Its not working for me when trying to send to my Galaxy nexus. I can receive just fine though.
Lastly, has anyone tried it the WiFi direct apps on Google play? The couple I have tried don't work for me either.
Thanks in advance.

Actually quick update I guess restarting my NFC fixed Android beam, but still no word on WiFi direct.

So Recently Rooted Sprint Samsung Galaxy S3 it is working great but the reason why i rooted was for the WiFi tethering which I haven't been able to do. I am Currently running [ROM][LJ7] CleanBean v0.6 claims that it's working but I can't get into work I need some help I have downloaded several versions of the WiFi tether for root users. And nothing.
Go to http://www.qbking77.com/samsung-galaxy-s-iii6.html and navigate to the how to video for wifi tether. There is a moded wifi tether .apk there that will get you going. I did it today myself and am using it to type this now.

the wifi tether for root users is not working with the liquid smooth rom just released, but the optimus DE rom works just fine as well as stock. tried reconfiguring it all different ways and mimicking the optimus rom settings I had that worked just fine. not sure why it works fine for one and not for another. any ideas?
just so everyone knows, I'm not a total noob at this. I've had a Samsung nexus S 4g forever, had it rooted for almost 2 years. great phone, moved up to the optimus for its hardware capabilities, but have had some issues with configurations on certain apps. great phone so far, the lg firmware makes it a little difficult to play around with. I've tried wiping davlik, pulling data from my other rom and everything. I went from a 4.1.2 rom to a 4.3.1 rom. i'm wondering if the 4.3 doesn't support the wifi tether? I use the crap out of it and haven't ever been billed for it. its awful handy, and sucks not to have it. tried the trevE mod version too, with the exact settings off my other rom it always starts with errors. if I turn it to NetD it works properly but doesn't show up when I scan to find it. not sure whats going on here?

I think most CM/ASOP ROMs have tethering built in. That's why the app doesn't work.
OpTimuS is stock.

Stock ROMs you have to pay for. Or root and the app.
CM/AOSP depending which one, have a free hotspot built in. I think it's usually in settings>phone or roaming. Somewhere around there on the settings.

Just wondering if there's a fix for this app. I love access control that way even if people get my password I have to allow it. I guess I'll just back this ROM and data up and flash back to optimus de to tether if I need it for now.
