It seems to be eating up my CPU from time to time.
It just most recently happened when I I put my camera and took ONE picture, then I just pressed home button, and all of a sudden Watchdog alerted me it was using ~50% CPU. I then removed open apps (by holding Home button and tapping Remove All), and a couple seconds later it was back to normal. This isn't the first time either... There have been times before where I wouldn't even use the Camera.
Also, BBS is showing the most wake-ups is google.android.gsf. What is this? I know it's Google Services Framework, which sometimes is on top list of cpu processes, but what exactly does it do, or which apps use it?
Any ideas?

Whenever I am in CWM & I let the phone sit idle, after about 15 - 20 seconds, it'll suddenly say "back button disabled." on the screen & then only the vol up/down works(power just makes the screen go off/on). At that point i'll have to do a battery pull... Yet it's only if I let it sit idle.
Is this some sort of setting that's on by default? Can it be disabled?
No idea, but it happens to me.. also happened on previous phones though so I don't think it's a problem unique to the GN.
Sometimes it happens to me while I'm navigating though not if I let the phone idle :/
Continue to cycle through the menu and it will return to normal.

I've had a similar experience with cwm. But if I just scroll back and forth a bit usually it reenables itself. You might not need to do the battery pull if you give it a few seconds.
Hello XDA world,
My note 2 has been having the occasional fit.
By fit, I mean the screen goes unresponsive, and the capacitive buttons might light up.
I have to hold the power button and reboot.
It is intermittent. One day it want totally crazy and after the reboot, it hung again before it even finished booting.
I've noticed if I try to do anything while it's booting up, it's even more likely to hang. It hung during 5 restarts in a row which almost drove me insane.
Then it totally stopped for days. Then the occasional hang. Then today it decided to go insane again and lock up 20 times in a row.
How the #($#@ do I debug this?
Some notes:
1) I don't see anything in logcats. I've tried various programs, and just doing a "logcat > logcat.out &" in terminal window.
I'm thinking my phone is hanging before it's able to flush the logcat output to memory.
2) It happens if I have no sdcard in the phone, so it's not that.
3) I'm now trying to uninstall programs that 'auto startup'. It's hard to tell if it works since it's intermittent. Hangs could be a week apart.
4) Is there any way to memory test the memory inside the phone? Once I was trying to copy the logcat off the phone via MTP and it hung. Could be coincidence.
5) There are signs of 'degrading death'.
a) I have 'show touches' in options turned on. At some point the screen isn't responding.
For example, if I'm at the lockscreen - I can see that it is registering my touches. (the option makes dots appear where you touched the screen). However the phone doesn't unlock (i.e. the thing that you click and drag to unlock doesn't appear').
I can still see processes running/not running (the 'show cpu usage' option.).
Or, if I'm at the launcher, I can touch the screen, home screens don't scroll.
b) After being in state 'a' for a while, the screen eventually goes black and that's that.
My phone is now in a 'totally refuse to work' state now, hanging after every reboot.
I'm trying to uninstall anything/everything - there's a program I'd ideally like to back up before I wipe.

The widgets take forever to load after startup sometimes, which is usually precursor to a hang.

Is your cpu temperature high when your problem encounter?

SDS!
The model of my phone is SGH-T999. It is not rooted (I'm going to root it soon though), its running Android 4.3 and I do admit I've dropped it a few times but it has a cover. It shuts off at the most random moment and restarts itself, and sometimes it won't go past the Galaxy SIII logo before restarting itself once more. Theres a possibility the lock button has something to do because when it stays in that startup loop I play around with the lock button till it finally finishes the startup succesfully, but I don't know how the lock button can make it shut down on its own while its turned on without me touching the "power off" option in the window that comes up.
Let's assume for a minute that the Power Button is not the culprit of the reboot. Its certainly possible that the button causes reboots during Boot. Several people have discovered, this button can get stuck.
So given that, let examine your Reboot. You may have to try a factory reset to see if that helps. Typically if there are a lot of background apps running, the phone may get warm and reboot.
Speaking of temperature, you may want to use some Battery Temp monitor like TempMonitor. Stock firmware tends to have low tolerance for temperature and may force Reboot.
Holdin the power button will force a hard reset btw. So if itz sticking that'll do it.

so, my wife's phone is insane. this thing turns the screen on by itself, even after we press the button to turn it off it'll come right back on within a couple seconds. The battery life is terrible too. Are there any apps out there that can tell me if there is another app on her phone causing all these problems?
On my Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4, when I am watching a YouTube video, the app starts lagging and getting really slow, and then the screen turns black. My whole tablet becomes laggy, and then the YouTube app crashes. It doesn't even say "Unfortunately, YouTube has stopped". It just closes and loads up my home screen. One time when this happened, the app was just stuck on the black screen, and it didn't even close. My whole tablet was frozen. Eventually it said "YouTube is not responding. Do you want to close it?", and I tried clicking yes, but the button didn't even change color. Eventually, it said " System process is not responding. Do you want to close it?", which just shows how bad this problem is. When I pressed and held the power button it didn't even bring up the menu that lets you shut down you device. I eventually had to just force restart my tablet by pressing and holding the power button for 8 seconds. This awful glitch mainly happens when I am using double tap to seek, which is a very useful feature, but I want to disable it because it causes this error. Sometimes it happens when I am not even using double tap to seek. This is really annoying and frustrating since I watch YouTube videos on my tablet a lot. I need a solution to this. If anyone could provide me with a working one that would be great.
Is there any difference if it's charging or not?
