Problem - Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660

My phone dont turn on?

That's akin to calling a doctor, coughing on the phone, and expecting a diagnosis...
There's going to be a lot more silly answers here if you don't give us some more details fast...

Romana poate?
Silviu, posteaza problema si in romana si ori incerc sa te ajut eu ori incerc sa o explic la ceilalti , pentru ca in clipa asta nimeni nu intelege

i never use rom manager
i just sent some files to sd card> unplug it> after i go to kitchen when i'm back my phone is close and dont turn on

He used the USB cable to download some files on the SD card. When finished he unplugged the USB and left for a while. When he came back the phone was off and he couldn't start it, or go to recovery, or switch to download mode. So the phone is basicly bricked.
Also the root issue: Because he rooted the device and lost his warranty he doesn't want to go to a service shop to repair it( no warranty can get pretty expensive).
Any ideas? I already sugested trying to check the battery levels with a Voltmeter.

if my phone dont open the repair center dont know the phone is rooted?
But when the "problem piece" will be replaced, the repair center see the phone is rooted and has installed a rom (cm7 by phiexz)

I don't think they'll bother fixing it, they will just replace it .

U mean tht ur phone is totally powered off after transfering some files via usb if so try to knock the phone on ur lap on the battery side so it would fully boot up and u will get to charge ur phone
EDIT: For those people who think phone is bricked. No it is not soft or hard bricked maybe because the guy who was using his/her phone maybe his/her phone used the battery too much and the phone got switched off automaticailly so try the step and try to knock it too hard

[Q] I GOT A PROBLEM WITH How to Unroot SGH-T989 [Painless 1 CWM ZIP]-Easi

Anyone know how to get synergy logo off with out being rooted or anything??? this is the only prob i have other then not being able to use mass usb storage.
I believe you have to install the stock Samsung ROM that came with the phone. Search and there is a thread that I believe has the ROM you need.

if u go into the general section theres an index thread with a back to root with odin for tmobile and telus puts everything back to stock
How can i reinstall stock rom...when i cant connect my phone to my pc due to my usb mass storage not working... says USB device not recognized...
Are you not able to use Odin to flash a stock kernel onto the phone?
Sent from my SGH-T989
Have you tried to go into download mode and see if Odin reads it?

Also my phone is on Stock Rom and Stock kernel, it just has the previous Kernel boot logo Synergy... and that is what i cant get off, i no longer have a rooted phone / CWM.. and on top of that cant use USB mass storage this sucks!
Yes, it doesnt do anything same as before...
from what ive read the zedomax method only flashes your recovery and a deodexed stock rom but doesnt flash the kernel which will leave the kernel you were using best bet is to head over to samsung make sure you have the newest drivers http://www.samsung.com/us/support/do...SGH-T989ZKBTMB and retry to get back into download mode to use odin using this....Take the battery back out Plug in the USB cable connected to the computer Hold down the volume up and down then Put the battery back in. You should get the option: Volume UP to continue / Volume Down for Reboot. Then try flashing back to full stock with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1350360 afterwards you can format the usb storage and the phone should be set for a return or exchange
BTW that link is for the tmobile stock
ya tried drivers no luck.. you think T-mobile will care that it has that boot loader image even though its stock rom/kernel LOL??? i mean i guess ill have to try see what they say i am gonna act like its no biggie.
I had the same problem as you, I restored back to original, but the Synergy Logo comes when the phone powers on.
My computer only charges the phone, no matter what drivers you install.
I gave up in searching how to fix it.
I'm selling it to a friend who doesn't care much about phone like I do.
Lesson learn.
Why dont you just get a new one, i am in the 15 day grace period where i can exchange for a new phone, i am just going to get the HTC Amaze, i am not to impressed with this phone, i just hope they dont care that it has that logo lol!

Bricked my Galaxy Gio

Hi XDA,
I've searched in many threads but i can't find an anwser.
I've bricked my Galaxy Gio when i flashed a custom kernel. It was the kernel in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1319816
Now it does nothing, I can't boot in any mode, not in download mode, not in recovery mode...
I have android 2.3.3 Gingerbread.
Is there any way to unbrick or is my phone just an expensive decoration now.
Thanks in Advance.
Hi !!!

Hope this will work in your device as well
Pull the battery to kill the boot loop (or whatever is hosed up), put the phone into downloading mode and re-flash the stock ROM.

If not even adb detects it, i'm pretty sure you're buggered, mate.
did you try and leave the battery out for some 10 min or more?
If adb does not detect the phone after that, then it seems to be a brick for real.
Is your phone stop at the "samsung" when you turn on your phone?
If is this,it's very easy to unbrick
One easy procedure which you might want to try with no guarantee it'll work:
-Remove the battery, microSD and SIM from the phone.
-Prepare the Odin software and your ROM on a known working system
-Connect the phone to the computer with the USB cable.
-With one hand, simultaneously hold Volume down, home and power.
-With your other hand, put the battery in the phone.
I was able to get Odin to detect an otherwise bricked phone this way. I was however unable to get further than the "setup connection" step. Maybe your outcome will be better.

Darkshado

Yes this way usually works. I've tested this way.
that worked for me to on a brick when it didnt even went on, no recovery, download mode etc, after waiting 2 weeks and trying to repair it myself I nearly throw it away, and then suddenly it went into download mode for about 1 or 2 seconds, wich told me the battery whasn't working.. so I started to charge the battery, and hoped it would boot, but it didn't.. using that method given above, I could get into download mode again, and flashes a new stock ROM. now I still have my phone, working.

He was trying to port the ROM, not just blindly flashing something from another phone.
If no one bothered trying these sometimes crazy things, there wouldn't be much going on here at XDA.
Missing one line in your updater-script is all it takes. I had a similar incident while trying to flash ICS on my Gio. Way before Maclaw released anything here. Took that phone out for a while.

You might get download mode to work by removing the battery, plugging the USB cable in, holding Volume Down, Home and Power simultaneously, and putting the battery back in. Odin should recognize the phone, but in my case it went no further than trying to set up the connection.
I've also read reports on here that the USB jigs that put the proper resistance between pins (4 and 5 iirc) also work on the Gio to trigger a different "Factory" download mode. (Same ones as used on the Galaxy S GT-I9000.)
Good luck,
Darkshado
thank u my friend today i will take my gio to a phone repairer and he can unhardbrick by using box

don't mean to be a bearer of bad news, but your phone is hard bricked. Meaning no software will get you out of that. The driver you mentioned is the universal, you screwed something up driver. Youll need JTAG repair

you can try another way beside jtag without using any software..
1. pull out the battery
2. plug the charger/usb charge on pc/laptop
3. hold the vol. down-menu-power(same thing like you do to get to download menu)
4. while you hold those three buttons put the battery again (make sure that you still hold those three buttons)
5. after you put in the battery, download menu will show up (now you can use odin to install which stock rom you like)

im in the business of unbricking phones. QPST has nothing to do with the phone's operating system. Heimdall needs your phone to be partly functional ( download mode) . Odin, same thing. Have you found any drivers yet? You need drivers to talk to your phone at all.

[Q] Bricked Galaxy Nexus

Hi there! First of all I don't speak english very well.
My Galaxy Nexus hard bricked yesterday.
tl;dr no boot animation, no recovery mode, no download mode, no response from computer.
I thought it had just a low battery level, I found it turned off. So I tried to recharge it but it gave no signals, no battery icon, nothing.
After an all night long recharge I tried to turn it on, to enter in download mode or in recovery mode but nothing works. I also tried to connect it with my computer with and without battery, no response, no "OMAP" device found, no sound from Windows for plugging it in, nothing.
I found this thread here in xda, many people has been redirected to it and found their solution to the brick problem.
I tried to follow all the steps but when I plug in the phone and start the .bat file nothing happens, just stuck on "Waiting for device".
The phone is unlocked and rooted. I'm running AOKP JB-MR1 Build 2 and Franco Kernel for a month, never had problems with them, never installed other ROMs after that.
What should I do now? Should I try to do something or just bring it to a support center? The phone is still in warranty, there would be any problem because it has a non-stock ROM?
I've red about a jig to force the Odin mode, should I buy it? (I found this one)
Thanks for the help.

Yes, it doesn't work.
have you your warranty on it?
return it and get a new one
It's hard bricked and a JTAG unit may force it into download mode, if you send it in for warranty, chances are it won't be accepted as it was obviously tampered with and they would find out that your bootloader is unlocked and charge you more money than the device is actually worth to fix it.
I don't understand how it could of bricked if nothing has changed on the phone for a month or longer. Nothing was flashed recently so how can you hard brick the phone?

I'm not understanding that too, I don't know what happened. Suddendly it stopped working. Maybe is just a battery problem, I'll try to use another one before bringing it to the shop where I bought it.
same happened to me, but I have an untouched phone with stock android. it worked well for over an year until today.
I see a lot of people having same issue, but they say that when connected to PC over USB the phone is recognized as OMAP.

Try This !!
Arrange a 4 ohm resistor and try to attach it in ur usb plug port of phone ..it 'll force the phon eto go in download mode or say Fastboot mode.
then follow a tutorial to flash any rom..
its quite easy else ping me !!

Please could you explain a bit more how to go about this? I have a Verizon Galaxy Nexus in a somewhat similar condition. This one is recognised as an OMAP 4430 device. I downloaded OMAP Flasher, installed drivers and tried to bring it back to life but after running the batch file I get this error: Operation FAILED (Remote: : Driver init error 0x00FF8080 - MMC CONFIG FAILURE). Can the resistor trick work on this and if yes, how can I go about it? I am not faint-hearted; I think I can handle it if given the right instructions.
After I tried everything i could from the internet, I went to a shop and tested to see if the USB is broken - and indeed it was. I replaced the USB component of the phone and after that it started.
Thanks guys
