Xperia S Settings UI - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm theming our Settings, based on Xperia S Settings UI.
I have a question from those who have experience in theming.
As you can see in the first attached picture, the dividers are not complete, like Xperia S. But still in some parts those dividers are complete. you can see them in the second picture.
I tried anything that I could think of but no luck.
Does anyone know which value I should change to make theme look like the first picture, like Xperia S?
Thanks in advance.

It will be an image you need to change and not a value.

What ?

Yes, it's an image, but both of them are the same image. I know that because I changed the color and both dividers had the smae color.
I made the settings like that by changing some value as you can see in the first picture, but I can't find the right value for all pages of Setting.

Okay, I'm thinking again

Well... As of a screenshot this is weird... Same firmware?

the same theme, the same firmware, same settings (BE, brightness...), at this point no root and locked BL...
mine looks more vivid everywhere...
easy compare:

Take screenshots of about phone, settings etc. from both phones, then upload it here again
Mine looks as your friend's.

It should still be the same as brightness does not affect the picture... Neither does BE

Could you set the same wallpaper as I did, it's one of the stock Xperia wallpapers, then take a screenshot of the right most desktop(with no widgets on it)
Thanks. Here's my screenshot.

It's touch firmware 7. I don't know, maybe it's the rom that caused this? I use xzx1.
And I don't think both pictures have different quality, one is darker than the other.. that's all.

Deactivating status bar toggles

I don't have the Xperia zl right now but am planning to get one if it gets released in Germany but maybe some of the owners can help me out with my question.
I saw that the Xperia z and zl have toggles in the status bar. Can they be deactivated in settings? If not, Is it possible to edit the systemUI.apk or maybe another file in the system to remove them?

They cant be took away by a simple setting, But May be able to be removed via messing with the SystemUI. Not sure why you would not want them though.

I want them removed because I don't like their style and rather use widgetsoid for status bar toggles, but having both looks ugly so I would like to remove the stock status bar toggles.
Maybe someone can give me a tip which file to mess with to remove them.

Can you add/delete some of the toggles? Which are available?

Another question I got while reading through the XZ forum: As both, XZ and XZL, are the same regarding OS and hardware it should be possible to use Mods on the ZL designed for the Z? I think custom roms is another field as there should be differences with for example the baseband but mods should work or am I completely wrong?
Any update on this? Could someone make a guide on how to remove the toggles?
Now that we're at modifying the SystemUI I have another question related to this topic. Is it enough to rename an icon (for example the one used for stamina mode) to remove it from being shown in the notification bar? As I read through some topics and looked at screenshots there are some icons I would like to remove from displaying when I get my Xperia ZL.
As the Xpeia ZL has an odexed ROM I guess I have to first deodex it, there is an guide of tickle my android I guess that describes how it is done, I guess it can be applied to the XZL?
Thanks in advance for answering.
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
You might want to check the Xperia Z thread as they have been doing this and that phone has had a good head start in terms of XDA dev. Since they are quite similar, the mod might work for the ZL as well.
I read through the Xperia Z forum but didn't find a mod that could remove the toggles, did you found one?
Ok, I found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38723261 mod in the Xperia z forum but the link isn't working. Maybe if we all ask the guy to put another working link he'll put it up because so far he hasn't reuploaded the link for the 3 people who've asked him to.

It should be as simple as finding/replacing the smali code to match the mods for Z. I'd have to take a look at it, but if the Z/ZL are indeed the same then all the mods should work.

[S] firmware .200 white messages, dial...

Hello, XDA members,
I've upgraded today to JB .200 firmware and messages / dialing numbers background is white? I've tried to change themes but that didn't help much.
Do you happen to know where to set black background?
Regards,
Lucas
There is no way to set the background of dialer and messages. Face it.
Or maybe later somebody will post a theme to change the background of these apps to black.
Thanks for the answer, but it really looks strange, that everything is in dark and messaging / dialer are in white. I use this phone often in low light environment that is why this white color is such just horror to my eyes.
I'm sure that ICS had dark scheme all over the place but JB so smooth that I won't downgrade to ICS.

I know a way to make it black. There is a ROM in S section called eXintenZ. Download black version or ask someone for apk you wants. And use it. But you have to be deodex to use it.

It is, but it doesn't behave like one (ie. An app). It is responsible for a huge load of stuff. Make one small thing wrong with it, and your phone enters a bootloop

For the dark theme MOD, just root and working recovery is required.
For eXistenZ ROM, currently it is for unlocked bootloader only, but niaboc79 is busy making v2, which can be flashed on locked bootloader.

Niaboc protected his mods somehow that it only works with his ROM.
About your PM, first you need a good working framework that won't give you a load of errors when compiling back.

Basically, he wants the settings.apk to have a white instead of black BG.
@OP: The problem is that it isn't a job of simply changing a png, there is a need to edit many and many icons, and many other lines to make everything perfect lol
