All SMS are deleted when Sim Swap - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Okay, so I have two lines for AT&T. Sometimes I will need to go and check my rarely used line for text messages or if I need to use data if I run out on the other line. Today, when I went to check my text messages for my unused line, I put the sim card in and went to my messages and all of my messages were deleted. Is this a feature of the s3? to delete all SMS when a new sim card is put in? I am running a completely virgin S3 on build i747uclg1. Am I missing something here? I don't get it.
Thanks.

No, but some programs save your messages to your sim card. In other words, when you removed your sim, the messages went with it. They should re-appear when you replace the sim if thats the case.

Yeah, I replaced the sim card, but it is not there :c

Help needed with crashing text message program

My TyTN with media 6 upgrade has been working very well for the past couple of months, but i put a different sim card in it the other day in order for a friend to send a text message. Since then it has always crashed sending text messages with my sim card. You can type a few letters but then it crashes.
Ive not tried a reset as i was hopeing the problem could be solved without this.
Also, it doesnt crash typing in any other programs just the SMS program.
Any help would be great.
I am a relative newbie, but I will try to explain what may have happened. When you installed your friends SIM card in your phone, it connected to the foreign network and started downloading settings. Now that you have your SIMN card back in place, the downloaded settings are screwing up your ability to send text messages.
I would consider: calling your vendor and asking if you can get your settings cleared and resent.

SMS saved on sim card?

Hi, i got 2 quick questions about my tp2
First, is there anyway to choose where SMS(text messages) are saved on the phone? Its defaulted to save on my sim card, and i have no way of moving them to the phone storage or the external sd card... Is there a setting i can change or something?
Secondly, i dunno if anyone else is having this problem. Starting recently my friends started to complain that they are receiving my text messages all cut up and new text messages getting mixed up with parts from old text messages from long time ago...... I have no idea whats causing the problem, anyone have any ideas wuts going on?
thanks!

[Q] Problem w/ texts showing up! -- Cannot seem to find the answer w/ search!

I have two SMS messages that I thought were deleted, but when I reboot my phone they show-up with what looks like an SD card icon in the upper right portion of the message. I have combed through my SD card and don't see any saved messages. I can't seem to find anything on the main memory.
Anyone else have this problem and figured out a way to permanently delete these messages?
For that matter, how do you permanently save a text?

Sound like they maybe saved to ur sim. Before my tp2 got busted I used to get sms alerts from 129 saved to the sim when people would leave me voicemails on tmobile us. With my backup cell it saved text to the sim when my inbox got full. U sound be able to deleted like ne other text if not try ur sim in a different cell & try it.
The question is, where is it saved on my sim? I've been through allmy folders and can't find it. When I delete it and reboot -- it's back again.
(I'll give it a try on my original tilt and see if that will work. Thanks.)

[Q] Unlocked T-mobile S3 Won't Send Text on Other Carrier

I had my S3 unlocked through T-Mobile and when I try to use it in a carrier in China, it does not send text message. It call and receive call just fine. It receives text just fine, and it can even send and receive MMS. But when I try to send text message, it will stuck on sending.
I know its not the sim card problem because when I try that exact same sim card on my cousin's unlocked AT&T S3, everything works.
Anyone has any idea why it happen?
The message center is grey out but there is a correct message center number filled in(it automatically update when the sim card change)

It's your APN settings, find the proper APN for T-Mobile and delete your current one, after that when you've found the right one somewhere in these forums just manually make a new APN with the same seetings as the one you have found.

Any way to change my SMSC (SMS Service Center)?

Hello everyone,
I'm on the current AOKP Milestone (4.2.2) on a maguro (GSM version)
I have to switch between two sim cards from two different countries and I cannot send SMS from one of them (just reports an error without any further info "SMS could not be sent."). Which is really bad for me since I have to activate my data and minute plans by sms.
Tried this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=979564
Still can't send sms.
Tried changing the SIM Card's messaging center on an old phone, still cannot send sms.
Is there any other way of changing the messaging center? Or is there at least a way to verify which one my phone is currently using?
Thanks a lot guys
What written there really is the solution. Putting the right number on SMSC field and clicking Update solved it for me.
Are you sure you put the correct number in and did a restart to make sure? Try googleing "<your carrier> SMSC" to find the number.
If nothing helps including trying on another phone, why not call the carrier for support?
Sorry for the late reply. I put the SIM card in an older phone and it gave me an error message saying it was a network error. Since it's a new SIM card that's possible so I'll have to contact the provider.
Yesterday a friend of mine ran out of battery on his iphone and put his sim card into my nexus and again it wasn't able to send sms. So he used another friend's iPhone and everything was fine. What's wrong there? SMS seems to be a difficult task for our nexus... or on android in general
