ICS Sony Keyboard? - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey all,
I was wondering if anybody has an .apk (or similar) of the keyboard from the Sony ICS firmware (something like .587) that I could install on my AOKP ICS ROM.
Thanks.

Check my sig... I used that signed zip to flash stock ICS, it includes keymaps and binaries, flashed it with CWM... I confirmed it works on UltimateHD and Jellysandwich... there's the possibility that it could work on AOKP... just... be prepared if it doesn't, you might need to reinstall ROM... I got my ROM to freeze at loading HOME once when messing around with keymaps and manually moving keyb binaries around... just saying.

Just make a CWM backup and you're safe. No need for full reinstallation (in case something screws up).

[ROM] seeARMS' XWJV1 Gingerbread BETA - Voodoo Kernel [3/5/11] [v0.1]

Hey all,
Here's a custom ROM based on XWJV1 with a focus on speed and stability. Nothing too special; it's just a stock, unthemed, deodexed, optimized Gingerbread BETA ROM with some minor modifications.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a BETA ROM running on a BETA KERNEL, so I don't recommend installing this ROM if you're afraid of breaking your device / don't know how to use ADB / get upset when your phone crashes. This ROM is smooth, sleek, and looks damn good too, however, again, this is a BETA ROM, so there are going to be bugs on any ROM based on JV1. Don't complain.
Features:
Voodoo Gingerbread Beta Kernel
Based on Stock Gingerbread Beta XWJV1
Fully deodexed and zipaligned
Fixed build.prop, permissions for launch_GPS, as well as many other minor file tweaks
Removed Samsung Bloatware
Removed Startup + Shutdown sounds
Fully updated Google Apps + Swype
Gingerbread screen-off animation (Very cool. )
Removed Apps:
-Allshare, Press Reader, Aldiko eBook, Buddies Now, Layar, Mini Diary, Write and Go
Added apps:
-Launcher Pro, Gingerbread Launcher, Gingerbread Keyboard
Download: http://www.multiupload.com/YFJTDTFVD0
Installation Instructions:
Flash from CWM after disabling all lagfixes. If you don't know how to install a ROM you shouldn't be using this one.
Have you got the new tweak by nickadeamus or whatever his name is?
Hi.
Just downloading will give a try.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
any screenshots please?
Just for the record, I bricked my i9000 GT. The bootloader gets messed up and I am now downloading a complete ROM to flash from heimdall.

Don't scare everyone man, your bootloaders are fine, your /system got corrupted resulting in a bootloop.
Corrupted bootloaders would mean either complete brick, or no 3BR
hi seearms just downloaded rom and installed jl2 modem everything fine so far, but time will tell. i was on ultibread when i came to yours so it was an easy transfer
Switched from a fresh stock 2.2, strangely i got the glitched screen when trying to enter recovery. Any suggestions? I see advice to flash boot.bin but I've not flashed JV1 prior to this so it can't be a bootloader problem.
Thanks.
Just wondering can this be installed from cwm if your current rom is froyo?
Ready to Test Drive
Really Eager to Try this ROM
Downloading now...

To install ultibread I flashed jv1 via odin, then unchecked auto reboot and flashed a hardcore kernel pulled the battery, rebooted into CWM and flashed ultibread as a zip from the sdcard . Should be the same procedure here, good luck!
I've been running your rom since yesterday and so far it's great with the JL2 modem. Highly recommended thus far...stable and fast like u said and even faster after enabling lagfix

Flash JV1 via Odin first, I believe it's the secondary boot loader in non-JV1 ROMs which causes screen tearing in recovery.

Good job seeARMS! I am going to wait a bit for and update before I jump in to this one as my i9000m is running so bloody fast on Darky's Extreme v9.3 that I don't want to mess with it. hahaha
I am going to try it though. I support you and your roms.
Fugu tweak by nickadeamus is gingerbread mod for froyo only. Not for gingerbread rom

Technically Nikadeamus said that it "may" work on GB but hasn't tested it.
EDIT: Some users with JV1 claimed to have noticed only a slight improvement if any at all. However, it may just be plain old placebo at work.

[REQUEST] TouchWiz Multitasking Menu?

Hi all,
I've just rooted & put AOKP rom on my new GS3.
Problem is, I'm missing the little task manager button that's on the stock touchwiz.
Does anybody have an APK I could install, or any way to enable this?
As a side request, does anybody know of a link to all the stock apps that came with the S3? I'm interested to install a few of them.
I dont think you will get that Feature on CM9/Aokp/Aosp roms
and if you want some stock apps, easiest way to get them is go and find a Stock based rom download and extract the whole the System/App folder and there you have it.

[GUIDE] Adobe Flash on Jelly Bean (4.1) and above

Hello everyone. Most of us probably heard of this, so I won't state anything out of the blue.
For starters, Adobe Flash will not work on anything that runs JB or anything above, or to be more precise, must not.
This is sad news. However there is still hope for us, whose using CM10, CM10.1, AOKP, AOSP, MIUI or anything derivated from JB sources (and of course anything that will follow them).
There is still adobe flash for ICS, and most of the applications are compatible with JB, including the adobe flash program. You don't have to do a thing, just download the apk (pulled from my ICS V, from market) and install it manually. For me it works just like it has in ICS.
You can't download it from market to your One V, because the program is officially incompatible from android 4.1. But if already has the apk from prevorius, you can install it. So this is the walktrough and the backdoor for the time.
Please note, that Chrome will not use this installed Flash program, so flash will not work for you even if you install it, so you need to use e.g. Firefox to make it work (or also "browser" worked for me).
If I wasn't that straight forward. This is most probably working with any JB phone with ARM v7 processor, but I haven't tested it with anything except the PrimoU.
So if you are from another phone do this on your own risk, I'm not liable in any aspect including fire, tornado and eartquakes.
If I have helped you don't hesitate, and push the THANKS button.

[Q] want to know about recovery

hello! i want to know everything about recovery..how many types of recovery are available?? which the latest version of cm recovery? does the type of recovery affect on installation of rom??
my another question is i cant get any widgets on desktop after installing custom rom( i can see widgets of only system apps of that rom).i tried about 6 roms btw everytime i cant see widgets.. and can i uninstall system apps??
i find lot of bugs in custom roms...i tried to find rom with no bugs btw there is no such rom...is there any rom without any bugs??(i want android 4.0)
First of all, exist 2 types of recovery -> AmonRa and ClockworkMod for our phone. The latest version is v6, but some users are facing problems that made then downgrade to v5. No, there is no happening.
If you use the menu button, it'll display a little menu. You go to add, widgets. It should do the trick. Yes, u can uninstall system apps but you need an app for this. You can find some on Google Play.
Still, we don't get yet ICS (Android 4.0) bugfree rom. But you can try some Gingerbread (Android 2.3) roms.Exist a ICS full themed rom made from Gingerbread ( It's visual is exactly as ICS). If you want, i can pass on to you the link to download. Any doubts just ask =D

Need help installing new kernel

Hello and thank you for taking your time in reading, I will start by letting you know my samsung captivate glide is already rooted, android version 4.0.4 and stock kernel 3.1.10-I927ICLJ3-CL970642, now I found this wonderful thread in the development forums:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1892538
mostly im interested in having more available RAM, but it does have a lot of good perks, after reading thru all 32 pages I could not find instruction on how to flash a kernel so here are my questions.
1) how do i flash a new kernel on my phone ?
2) Do i need to flash a rom as well or can i keep the stock ICS with the new kernel ?
Download and install clockworkmod .. the rest will make sense after that

Oh I forgot to mention I already have clockwork mod
not sure if you can keep the stock rom with the kernel (bone stock.) I don't see why not ... I used Dman's UCLJ3 pre-rooted rom and flashed litekernel onto it so you should be able to.
in CWM, install zip from sdcard, browse to your download folder on your phone and install it.
MAKE SURE you do a full backup first so you can revert if something doesn't pan out.

ty yohan, i see that flashing a kernel is pretty much the same as flashing a rom, I like the stock rom, how stable is Dman's ?
There's crashing issues with his AOKP lockscreen version but it could be because I installed thegreatergoods litekernel. So if you're going to download the pre-rooted debloaded deodex. etc etc.. go with the one that doesn't have the lockscreen. the 14 toggles mod will work and can be configured by quickpanel settings in apps.
One thing that shouldn't be overlooked is ICE Pop, it has a themed dialer (big plus) ... Thegreatergoods literom will be good as well, but personally I dont like the cyan and yellow colors in the messaging app.
I flashed the kernel with success but after testing it for a week I decided to go back to stock, tho speeds were amazingly fast the device was alot more unstable and I couldent handle all the crashes and reebots
