Is it possible to make particular notifications/widgets in the notifications panel permanent? Say, the Play Music widget, for example?

That's a toggles widget. What I want is to make the Play Music widget permanent.

I still don't get why Google decided to leave the previous track button out of the notification bar and also out of the music widget, do they think that we only skip tracks and don't like to repeat them? Is there a way to get the previous button on the notification bar/widget? I find myself
Constantly opening the app which destroys the whole point of having a quick access to it :/

Always wondered why they chose to do this too. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense...

Give widgetsoid a try. You can make notification bar widgets with it.

Download the CM9 music app. There's options to customize the buttons and look of the notification bar music interface.

Power amp does have a repeat and shuffle button. You have to enable it.
...of the people, by the people, for the people...
The previous track button shows up in the notification bar when you're in landscape mode.
That does not make any sense at all. Google, gooogle..
If it works in landscape, then it is likely a layout bug.

The four lock-screen widgets are OK (the calendar is the most useful I feel), but I was surprised that there was only 4. Are there any others out there?

Mizuu has just updated to add some.
Personally, I've turned lockscreen widgets off for now.
Hopefully more apps get updated to support this feature as right now it's a bit useless

There are more in the play store, search "4.2 lock screen widgets"...its mostly clocks, but any thing new is a plus!
EDIT: There are double as many apps as when I checked yesterday, new widgets, a lot more. I can only assume this is a glimpse of what's to come.

HD widgets is updated and has a nice 5 day weather outlook for the lock screen. Also too, they have their clocks for the lock screen too

If you don't like the 4.2 lock screen clock there's the Nexus 4 clock that allows you to add the 4.2 Analogue clock to your lock screen. I've also added the IP Widget that allows you to add a Widget to your lock screen that provides network status.
In the UK there are only 3 Widgets clock, calendar & gmail by default for some reason, what's the 4th default Widget?

I believe it is Google Sound search/Ears. I don't have it either (Finland).
Yes it's Google Sound Search.
Power Amp's lockscreen widget will work when you're listening to music
Plume now has a lockscreen widget for 4.2

I wonder why Google didn't unfreeze Sound Search with the 4.1.2 updat where Google Music is available now.
In Italy it's missing too even though there is Google Music since mid-november
Is there a music widget or an option to control your music from the lockscreen? I can seem to find a way to do it with the stock music player.
Any advice?

I guess it can be Q/A, if a mod can move it there.
It is app/widget related.
A request if you will, for something to control the stock music app, if it exists.

Power amp is the best music player out here, worth every penny..full of features and full equaliser. Best sound..I have tried every other app you can think of

I also noticed that the stock music player doesn't have a lockscreen widget like in ICS. You can access the music player controls from the lockscreen by bringing down the notification pull down menu.
I also am a fan of power amp and is one of the few paid apps I have invested in. I use it on any non touchwiz based Rom. I do prefer the touchwiz music player because it displays the album track number in my Bluetooth car stereo though.

I'm using this for a week now but i still can't figure it how to remove that black transparent background.

Seen this on android central feed, I like it a lot but my only gripe is the fact that the stock LS collapses it. I would love if it can stay "open" all the time instead of having to swipe down to see missed calls or texts. And the damn settings button always shows as well.

Works very well, i like it.
May be more options will be included in the next upgrades.
i'm using it as well, you should try battery ext from play store.

Good question.

It uses Yahoo Weather, as stated, and apart from adding the extension it should just pick up your location. I didn't have to manually add it. Whether it is done by GPS or Mobile Network location, it just seemed to take for me.

This used to happen to me . Then i disabled the option to use home screen widgets in lock screen from my custom rom menu.
But now there is a new version from this app, that allows your homescreen widget to have full transparent background.
Yes i just updated recently, now how can i resize the overall icons and texts? They're so big... and i have to slide down to see the rest of the notifications.

I wish there was support for Whatsapp too.
Also,
I hate having to manually expand the widget when it's set to default.

There is one. Search for dashclock extensions on the play store.
I love the widget. Its fantastic. The only issue I've had is refresh time. I don't know if its there app or what, but I had a missed call yesterday morning. Even though I cleared the notification and even called them back it never went away from the widget. Hope he fixes it soon

Did you have a solution for this issue ? My LockScreen also take 2/3 from the Screen, so i cant see the full DashClock
Unless you have some sort of Lockscreen control built into the ROM, and enabled maximize lockscreen widgets or however it's worded, then there doesn't seem to be a way to force it to max size. Unless someone has found another method, which I am eagerly looking for.
I'm loving this, but the weather doesnt seem to show for me. Even tried defining a location in the default clock to see if it was connnected.
looks nice...

I got a samsung galaxy s3 that has a widget called Assistive Light that turns on the flash light. I want to use it in zooper. But I cant find it in the list of 'Widget on tap Action'. Where exactly is it?
If its possible to use it, what code do I use in zooper to show that its turned on upon tapping it?
You have to use Tasker for that.

If you're using Nova launcher (probably similar process in other launchers) you could look under tap actions / shortcuts / (nova) activities.
Perhaps you'll find your shortcut there.

Just noticed there's no such shortcut for that flashlight app (installed it to have a look).
You could use TeslaLED Flashlight for this.
