Since you bought it yesterday, I'm gonna assume you were playing a lot with it and installing numerous apps? Thats the only reasonable cause I see. Try it for few more days, and let it upgrade to latest software via PC companion, if not done already (the latest software extends battery life a lot)
Stock battery charge is only goof for a short span of time. Drain the battery completely out of juice thwn charge it. You'll get max power on the initial charging.

its a new battery..so give it some time to adjust..new batteries require few charging and discharging cycles before it gives its peak performance..report here after few weeks if you are still having some problem.
battery callibration method might solve your problem..

Did you update your arc using SEUS on PC? I had same problem but after update on Android 2.3.3 it is gone. They fix that in Android 2.3.3. If there is no update wait for it. It will come. Other thing you must know about battery is that after a mounth of using device battery last longer but i think this is battery bug that is fixed in Android 2.3.3.
battery low
Hi guys!
I've bought Arc about month ago and I've noticed a problem with battery percentage, it has oscillations. For example, battery is on 25% and suddenly drops to 2 or 3% and for a while battery is on 18%, or battery is on 84%, suddenly drops to 74% and soon comes back on 85%. I've restarted the phone, repaired software but the problem is still here.
Battery life is very good, average life is 36-48 hours, but there is a problem with oscillation. Can anyone tell me what should I do?
Software version is 2.3.3.
Let me search that for you http://www.google.com/cse?q=Battery...sc.tab=0&gsc.q=Battery problem Arc&gsc.page=1
Hmmm... Why didn't I think of that?
My problem isn't 0% battery or short battery life. Read my post again and than answer me.

Best way to fix it is battery calibrate....but it needs root.
And when it drops and raise 2-3% its quite normal. My Neo doing thiskind drop raise trick when I make reboot and for me its not problem
Cheers

Hi Sidious
It sounds like your battery are fluctuating more than normal, a drop of 20% is definitely not normal unless you are doing allot of booting and flashing at the same time.
One cause of the smaller oscillations could be that battery is not read as often when in deepsleep to save battery life. It might have some battery level estimations when you wake up the phone that are off by a few % when the next battery reading occur. Might also be temperature changes that also change the capacity slightly.

Arc isn't rooted.

I'm not sure what did you mean by saying that I'm doing allot of flashing and booting at the same time?

Battery sensing module automatically calibrates when it discharge from 100% to 2% or lower. So, let it discharge a few times to 2%, and try to do a light use (no games, etc) doing this, to help fuel gauge module to detect internal battery impedance and correct the % marking.

Hi Sidious
If you had the bootloader unlocked and was flashing new kernels or firmwares. I have noticed that the phone when in "fastboot" mode do not charge but consumes allot of battery, it usually shows as a sharp drop when the phone are booted up. "fastboot" can be used to flash new kernels on the phone, but I do not think this is the problem in your case when you are running the SE provided firmware only.
From the past one month or so I am having this weird issue with my phone's battery. The battery drops straight from 20% to 1% and the phone switches off. This last time, I connected the charger before the phone switched off ( a matter of few seconds ) and the battery jumped straight to 21%. Is my battery terminally damaged or is it a software issue? I have attached a screenshot of the battery discharge graph available in settings menu.
Also, I faced the insufficient memory problem and I have repaired the phone about 2 months back using PC companion to ICS 4.0.4. I have been using the phone for about 15 months as of today.
Thanks.
hmmm maybe you charge your phone from pc? if you do this the battery will never get fully charged really...that i can say from my personal experiance.
By the way just charge the phone as much you can also let it charge on 100% and reboot it(battery lvl must go lower than 100) do this till you get a reboot with 100%...
If those do not help your battery is damaged you maybe have banding issues,3g/wrong baseband, forground apps? maybe a combo of all this.
Had the same issue, cured after repairing on SEUS.
Quite a fluctuate on the graph.

Maybe try to recalibrate battery!
Same issue, on mk16a. The battery is weird, if I leave CWM running it last for more than one hour, but androids jumps from 20% 1% or 0% suddenly. Also when booting again (after the shutdown) it's reports 20% but again it drops...
I'm on CM10 but i think this happens also on stock ICS.
Battery calibration don't work...tested it 2 times
Any hints?

Running the latest OS update. Never had this issue before...... If you look at the screenshot it seems to be charging and awake while the battery is draining... The phone was sleeping at least 90% of the drain time..... An ideas ? Thanks
Battery was not being charged at the time.
No this is not battery failing, this is charging is not happening properly.. Many had this issue, including me..
Sometimes it shows charging, led will also blinks but reality is it is not charging, solution just unplug and replug.. Still not charging, then restart phone and try, if so didn't charging use some other adaptor or use some other plug point,..
BTW Use Aida64 app and see battery charging rate, then you can see where is the problem is..
Problem is it wasn't being charged.... it was at 86% last I checked... When I checked again it was dead 0%.... That's the strange part of this
what is discharging rate?

Rate at which the charge in battery is used, if you plug the charger it should show charging rate, if it didn't unplug and replug
ok, bro! I m gonna cheque after my battery drops at 1%. I m now testing 11-09-2015 nightly cm12.1
it seems better than previous cm12.1 veraions for charge stay

Hi. I just have a question. My battery is draining 1% every 3-5 minutes when in use. Is this normal for this type of phone? Thank you for your responses

Yes, with this you will get around 5hrs screen on time, so no problem.. But once the 5.1 release, it may improve the battery usage i think
5.1 official update when asus will roll out?

I had battery drain with the .90 update. As generic as this may sound, clear your cache from recovery. This fixed the battery drain for .90 for me. Good luck.
Thanks for the replies. I'll have to check the battery drain... I will also clear the cache.... After I charged it fully it seems fine now.... I'm thinking it might be due to the latest update though. This phone has been in use since May and never had this issue before.
I think I m near to find solution of battery drain issue
I m in 2.20.40.88 stock version
using 'doze' app and found that from 2 am to 9 am (sleeping time) battery drained only 2/3 %, see the battery graph u will understand. my device is now pure stock (bootloader unlocked) + no root
u will find the doze app in play store and it's free.plz try and share ur result.in doze I gave permission to 'whatsapp/imo' for always connection.
