Hi guys,
just wondering if someone can point me in the right direction to fix the zoom on the home screen wallpaper for Jedi Mind Trick ROM v. 8
I've searched in that thread, and there was some mention to use Wallpaper Setter to fix it.
I went to Play Store to install, and it shows its already installed. Maybe im missing something but im stuck with a zoomed/blurry wallpaper and cannot fix it.
Any ideas?
Just push the aosp gallery to that rom and then youll be able to crop the whole wallpaper as normal
You can try an application called wallpaper wizardrii, works for me but i have to say that it sometimes is unstable. Sometimes the wallpaper is completely upside down, the easiest way to correct it is to swipe to another homescreen and press the home button
Zedge works well on Jedi

Title says it anytime I put a wallpaper up its way bigger than normal. Like it crops it wrong or something
Its like the bottom half of the picture is cut off. Haven't done much troubleshooting just wanted to see if anyone else had this problem.
Can we get a screen shot
And try setting the wallpaper using a app from the market

Try setting wallpaper with Quickpic from the Play Store. It gives you an option to set as wallpaper.

The application I want to talk about is PicSpeed Wallpapers.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...1bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5zcnNkZXYud2FsbHBhcGVycyJd
A promising application which offers pretty good wallpapers, in my opinion. However it is more than a simple wallpaper application... Not special in a sense where it gives you super exam cheating skills (which I so desperately need right now)... but it gives you MUCH better cropping for your wallpapers in the Gallery app .
So how do you use it and how much better is it? Well to use it start by getting a Wallpaper. So once you got that on your phone go ahead and open up the Gallery. Find and tap on the image. Now hit the menu button and select "Set picture as" (on ICS) or whatever you need to click to set a wallpaper. You will notice a pop-up comes up. The normal options would be contact photo and wallpaper (and maybe whatever else you have), but now we are introduced with the option of "Set as Wallpaper" - with the PicSpeed icon beside it. So tap it (of coarse). Underneath the image will be three images. The first (left) crops the image to use just the middle (based on dimensions) and is not a scrollable Wallpaper. The second (middle) gives you the traditional full-use of the wallpaper in a scrollable state. The one that is most interesting is the last (right) option. This one offers a custom crop. Which means you can make the wallpaper scrollable or not and perfectly set the crop to whatever you want. So once you use the right custom option go ahead and hit the set option underneath it to the far right.
I think that is amazing finally a way to break the terrible cropping options the Gallery gave us. At first when PicSpeed released an earlier version the wallpaper would auto resize and mess up the image. They have updated the app since then and I no longer have to re-set the wallpaper on boot. Another bug I noticed is I cannot set a Wallpaper 'properly' with the traditional set wallpaper function my phone offers me, after I use PicSpeed to set a "custom" crop. This is easily fixable. Go into Gallery and the set the wallpaper with PicSpeed (again) with the Wallpaper with the traditional (middle) option. Or you can just reboot your phone, either way works.
Well yeah I just wanted to share this new amazing application with you all . You're welcome all! No more terrible cropping options YAAAAY!

Simpler way
I found that the Galaxy app in the S3 only crops to portrait too. Simplest way I found was to extract the Galaxy2.apk from a Nexus and install it on the S3 (or replace it entirely) and us it to set the background. You then get the portrait and landscape cropping so you can then have a decent scrollable home screen wallpaper.
Ho there gents.
Has this file been uploaded somewere.

You have to install a different launcher to make the scrollable background work.
May you share that galaxy2.apk please?
Thanks !

I use wallpaper changer to change my wallpaper, doesn't crop and allows for scrollable wallpapers without needing to change anything.
Set wallpaper with Zedge app works great No cropping.

The most brilliant gallery is "fish bowl photo gallery".check it out, it's in the market and it's. Free,no adds.
Most cool features you're ever seen in a gallery app
ics gallery
Dawnload ics gallery and you are finished
I dont know if this thread is still active, but I have been running into issues lately with pic speed. I have used it for a while (on my original vibrant) but now im getting issues. Im trying set an image as my background and crop it. Works fine. Crops for me I get it smack dab center and everything is nice. I turn on the scroll function because I just want the static image. Spits out the image and my wallpaper is great, but as soon as I turn the phone into landscape mode, regardless if im in an app or not the image gets distorted and its annoying as balls. Can anyone help me out?
No one know about this app

1. choose a live wallpaper for both home and lock screen.
2. go to gallery and choose a plain wallpaper and set it for only homescreen.
sent from: designed for humans
It's not working it saying it will be also the photo for the Lockscreen
I don't that is possible maybe with a special app?
I think I played too much with apps that changed lock screen photo cause now Im stuck with one and cant change it. I purged the gallery data which effected in changing the wallpaper onto default one (the kid with the balloons on the meadow) but still not much I can do. My phone is rooted. I didnt use QuickPic or any other apps to view my pics, only the Stock one. Any ideas?

There is a bug on 4.2.2 that you cannot change the lockscreen wallpaper if you have the Ripple effect. Other than that I have no clue, maybe a senior person can guide you!

Im on 4.4.2
Go to gallery and choose any pic of choice and set it as home+lock wallpaper.
It will change the lock wallpaper too.

Good to know that You dont take people as idiots. No I didnt try that. c'mon :/
Ive got rooted phone. Just made hard reset, cleaned cache as well... problem still exists :/
I am able to change the wallpaper for animated one (as long as I pick home and lock screens together), but then when I change it to normal one it goes straight to the default.
Can anyone tell me where is the default one kept? Im gonna delete it (or move it) and see what happens.
Im on rooted stocked system android 4.4.2 and I have the same bug with being unable to change the lock screen while on unlocking the screen with ripple effect :/ bummer
Hey all,
I have searched for this to no avail. Does anyone know of a way to change the lockscreen wallpaper without using the stock OOS launcher? I have tried it while rooted in different ways and it doesn't seem to work. I know I can install a custom ROM and be on my way but I wanted to know about stock. Thanks!
Open picture in Gallery app, three dots in top right corner, set...
I just freeze the app and unfreeze it when i am done

I used an app I usually use to crop photos precisely when setting wallpapers, it turns out to be able to set lockscreen wallpaper as well. When you hit apply it asks lockscreen or home screen pretty simple.
