[Q] Internal Mount Do you use it? - HTC One V

the reason i'am asking this is because, we have an option open to us...the internal mount can be re-merged with the /data partition to give more space..now im thinking of doing this AS STANDARD for CM10 but i need to know people's opinions on this
thanks
-Lloir

That would be great, another 100 MB for apps! will this be also part of CM9?

yes it can be...but i want opinions before i do anything, as i personally don't use the internal sd and never see much use for it outside of stock

I'm with you lloir.....I never use internal partition....so if we can use that for apps then it's great....
Sent from my One V using xda premium

I agree, I never used internal storage, just SD Card, so if it is available to use it for more space for apps, it would be great

i have decided that this will be implemented when the build + kernel with this implemented is in you will ALL be given fair warning
thanks

That will be for the best in my opinion I backup everything to cloud, so I don't use the internal emmc.

Nope :/ like App2SD and make the internal storage 3GB.
Sent from my R800x using XDA
3 ways
There are few ways to get more space:
1st- move all the apps you can to the SD,
from Settigs->Apps->Apps Admin
2sd- Use and app that let you move your apps
even when the system does not let you.
(you need to be root)
3r- Mount all your apps in a virtual memory
on the SD. This decrease speed and battery but
let you have unlimited space.
(swapper app, need also to be root)

There is absolutely no way to make internal storage get up to 3gb. The method that was posted in the development section doesn't work on R800x. You'll have to use some form of a2sd or link2sd.

Cyanogen 9 nightly build by Shabby

My gallery doesn't see storage anymore if I flash past 8/02/12
Is this just the way it is or is there a way to fix it?
Thanks!

Storage has swapped since then to correct locations. For many things Internal will have swapped for External and vice versa.
There are a few things that have been in progress since then. 1, a couple of AOSP/CM9 acceptable schemes have been tried the final has been arrived at
2, some issues with applications have arisen, i think this is generally fixed
3, i know the latest issue is deleting in gallery isn't working right.
The nightlies are built off Chris's latest committed code. The changes in storage are permanent so some of your applications / defaults will be backwards from what your used to. The issues however are and or will be fixed and they were known about it the day they showed up.
I know a few people reported files being there and they could not see them at all. I have been working from clean installs with no issues. Pictures that were taken with the 7-17 nightly were stored on the storage device they were originally and the camera now saves to the new location both are visible in gallery for example. Not 100% sure but i believe the SD card is now the default write location.
The gallery says there is no external storage available.

Same issue here I can't see my gallery pics or music in Google play or Apollo..

What info would help? All I know with my naked eye is that the storage seems to flip flop or something. The gallery says there is no external storage available. I tried to get a screenshot with the built in screenshot feature but because it sees no storage it won't save it.

Well if your coming from a TW Kernel nightly (7/31 or older) to a source kernel nightly (8/02 +) to one of the newer source kernel nightlies I would recommend a clean install i mean storage has changed atleast 3 times.
As per Chris's notes I did notice that the option inside storage was checked causing emmc to be mounted as external_sd. But everything is working for me on a clean install either or. Problems can only really be solved once you get that out of the way. Otherwise revert to whatever you liked and be prepared to do a clean install when we go official. I can only recommend it when such a leap occurs.

Internal memory full

Hi everyone, I just got mg Galaxy s3 recently snd loved it.. However I can't download my game because the internal memory keep running out space.. I usually download the game and game data is store in my sd card however with this phone everything is saved into my internal memory... Even my copilot gps file!! Could some one help my free up some internal memory.. Thanks

You basically have to start to delete stuff you don't need. Go to system settings and storage and start from there. You can actually move apps to the sd card. There's a hack in the development section posted by zedomax. I haven't tried it but you can check it out. Make sure you carefully read the instructions.

[Q]SWAP,anyone?

Can anyone explain me how we can use swap on buzz since our recoveries dont have that option?
What are the advantages?
Does it really burn sdcard or it is similar to overclocking burns processor chip?
Help is appreciated.

As said above it certainly degrades SD card life.I didnt loose any but mine 8gb class 6 sd card became so slow that copying a 70mb file used to take about 20mins to copy!
So I had to buy a new one,but yes there is a noticeable change in performance using swap. But just to get that bit of performance boost, you might end up being frustrated the other way,so not recommended.
Well i used swap Nothing strange happen with SD card... i used only 256 mb which is more than enough.
I used it with "system control pro" app, as it let you set swapiness, vf cache preasure and drop caches.
If you experiment with those values you can get something good. And also if you dont do it right you will get random reboot 1 times a day, or freeze sometime when it full that swap but does not drop cache... depending how you set it, you can get multitasking improved
If you have time try it. Sure kernel must support swap as you know it alrdy i guess...
Good luck :good:

CoZ u have no worries of sdcard. I lost 2GB card in this, though i was thinking that 2GB is very less and often had storage issue but guess what i lost that 2GB card :crying: and now i'm using 1gb card. So u can imagine, also include a cwm backup in 1 GB + roms.

What's a swap script? It seems a little weird to show 360mb...... Why not show the 512mb and then what's used? And yeah saying it has 4 gb internal is messed up too. I can only use 967mb. But I have a 16gb card not too big of a deal.
