Cannot Get Into Recovery Mode - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Hello,
I'm having an issue where I cannot get into recovery using the three-button method. If the phone boots, I can get into recovery using CWM, but otherwise, I cannot. Can somebody help me with this issue?
The rom i'm using is a stock rooted UVLH2 and i'm also using the stock kernel. I did install CWM Touch Recovery 6.0.1.2 using Odin. I'm hoping it's not the fact that it's the touch recovery, but it shouldn't be because earlier I was able to get into recovery using the buttons but now I cannot.
Thanks in advance.

Turn off your phone and hold down the Volume Up, Home, and the Power buttons together until the screen turns on. Let go of the buttons and your phone should now boot into ClockworkMod Recovery.
http://www.androidauthority.com/galaxy-s3-sgh-t999-t-mobile-clockworkmod-recovery-99303/

I'm doing that and it won't let me into the recovery mode. It'll show the Galaxy S3 boot up logo and then boot up again normally.

With the t mobile version it's a little different. First hold down volume down and home button then apply the power button, let it boot then let go off power button and keep holding the other two buttons till you're in cwm

Yeah sorry guys, but I did figure out why it wouldn't go into recovery. . . . .i was holding the buttons for too long. I guess you're not supposed to hold it until the Galaxy S3 screen pops up. Either way I feel really dumb now because I've never had problems before and struggling like this is quite stupid. . . LOL either way, thanks for your help guys.

Glad it wasn't only me running into this.
I had posted on a recovery thread and then found out I was apparently holding the buttons too long. When you see a line of blue text show up at the top - let the buttons go.

If you're rooted an easy way is select reboot recovery in rom mgr or goo mgr.

Yeah those two ways are good. If you have root i really like Quick Boot. You can even have a one press recovery widget with this app.

Can't Boot into Recovery

T-Mobile phone 3 days old.
In the process of rooting my phone everything was going well. Phone went into recovery fine. I tried to do it again and just as recovery starts the Stock bootup takes over. If I continue to hold the volume and power buttons it just keeps vibrating over and over. When I let go the phone boots up normal.
I tried a factory reset to no avail.
The only thing I did was I installed CWM a second time. I thought I deleted them, but it still did this, so then I did the factory reset, wiping everything.
This is realy frustrating because I came from a Nexus One and will NOT own a phone with all of the garbage bloatware and T-Mobile restrictions.
Oh. One more thing when I go into Odin mode, it says I have 4 successful loads of clockworkmod. Even after the reset.

No. I'm holding down till recovery pops up but it never does.
That video doesn't help. The first thing he does is settings>development. There is no development section in settings. I know there is a debugging toggle in privacy, but it looks completely differenct.
I've tried everything. tried doing everything again and now it doesn't even recognize that there is a recovery on my phone. I really need some help here. If i can't root this phone I don't want it.

Sorry was trying to help. You need to get into download mode and use odin to flash stock recovery! Lots of forums about how to do that.
To put your Tmobile Galaxy s2 phone in recovery mode.
1 ) Turn your phone off. Power it off
2 ) At the same time, press and hold volume up and down and power at the same time. Your phone will come on.
3 ) Keep holding even after the vibration.
4 ) When you see the first SAMSUNG white text, let go of the buttons.

Galaxy S3 Won't Power On

Hi , I'm having problems with my Galaxy T999. I have rooted and have not yet installed any kernels/roms. The only thing i did was installed a couple apps from the play store . and wanted to check out the CWM recovery menu and was going to try to installed "hyperX camera mod". First thing i did was shut off the phone . Then pressed on the Volume up+Home+Power button . After doing that my phone didn't turn on or anything , no vibration or anything . I hooked it on with my computer and press the power button and it was able to connect and then disconnected. I am at lost now and can't seem to find any answer . Have looked every where not sure what to do now. Any solution will be much appreciated .
***
It seems to disconnect due to no driver found for QHUSUB_DLOAD .
Without any solutions I'll probably gonna get my phone replace . T_T
Does your phone disconnect immediately, or does it stay connected for a brief amount of time? If it stays connected briefly, try using adb during this period to boot into recovery. The command is "adb reboot recovery" (without the quotes).

Try to remove your battery then plug in charger. See if you can turn on. If you can turn it on, leave it 30 minutes. Then put in the battery.
By the looks of the result the computer gives you when you plug it in, seems it is hard bricked! Are you sure you didn't flash anything from the I9300 section like a rom?

The hyper x camera mod isnt entirely for our phone. I've read that it's flashable to our phone though, so I'm not sure what's going on here. Maybe the OP needs to link where he got the mod. Ih and stay away from the intl version all together.

Yup its a paperweight. The Intl version has the system partition in a different place. So you borked an important one.
Only thing that's throwing me off is that the OP suggests he didn't actually get around to flashing the mod.

SGS3 T999v wont start up.
My sgs3 t999v would turn off by itself every other time I hit the lock button.
like I would be txting and then if I hit the lock button it would turn off.
So I though a factory reset would fix the problem. (volume up + home).
after the reset it still kept turning off randomly.
and now I cant even get it to the normal interface. or get in to the manual reset mode.
Device was previously jail broken, however was returned back to stock and was working fine for 3 months.
I had my otterbox on for every fall my phone had, so I dont think it would be a hardware issue.
the phone was running 4.1.1 I believe.
stock rom.

Can you get download mode? (Volume down, HOME and power)
Even though you have a case on it, it sounds like it was probably damaged by one of the falls. Most cases as far as I'm aware mostly protect the display. The shock from impact can still damage internal components, even with a case built with this in mind.

Hey thanks for replying!
I drained the battery and got a new charge in it and managed to get it booted up
however now the problem of the lock button is still here.
like if i use it to lock my screen it just turns off on me, and it takes multiple times for me to get the phone up and running again.
you could see if you could find a widget or widgets that will basically put a button on your screen that can power off, enable lock screen, reboot recovery/download, etc.
Then just use the HOME button to turn the screen back on.
It sounds to me like a hardware problem, but if you can flash another Rom and do a full wipe/factory reset you'll know for sure.
I hope this helps. Not sure what else you can do besides getting it repaired or replaced unfortunately.
Maybe someone else will have a better idea though.

how can i fix this bs?
Either you have a defective button or you need to clean it because it might be getting stuck for some apparent reason .
ok so i for sure have a stuck power button... im gonna go to t-Mobile tomorrow to try to get this sorted out.
thing is, im on the latest AOKP nightly, are they gonna **** me over on my insurance policy (the like 3-4 bucks you pay a month to tmobile) cus I rooted my phone?

Mostly likely yes if the tmobile knows its not stock. They could say it was your fault by saying you put a defective rom on your phone that's not factory. They try to get out of s**t all the time. But you could get lucky. But if I were you I would restore it to factory before I took it to the store. Just to be on the safe side.

OMG! Have I bricked my phone?

Ok...short history.
Had Frosty JB on my phone, but being a flash-whore, I downloaded Slimbean to try out.
Did all the usual wipes, and on the main recovery screen, instead of choosing to find the zip file, I chose Roboot. I didn't think that would cause any problem. Just go back into recovery and choose the zip file.
Uh oh....now I can't seem to get back into recovery. When I try the different button arrangements, all I do is go to the main "Samsung Galaxy S III" logo....and it never changes.
Am I f****d?
Help! I've flashed ROMs on my Vibrant a 1000 times, and was having no problems with my new SG3, and now this.
Is slim an international rom?
If you can get to logo thers hope for now.
Try download mode. Hold volume down, home and power. Then press vol up when asked. Connect to pc and use Odin to flash stock firmware.
For recovery, hold volume up, home and power. When you see the blue text flash at top of screen release power but hold other two until you get recovery.
Only flash roms and mods from this forum!

Try power + home + volume up to get into recovery. Something similar happened to me where volume down + power would not let me into recovery, but the other combo would.
Keep trying different combos for recovery or download mode, as long as it's on it should be recoverable
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
If it boots to the logo screen then it is still alive... Are you on twrp? If so then hold volume up+ Home + Power. As soon as you see the blue little letters on top left then let go of power. Once you see the logo then let go completely. Always works for me when I try to enter recovery that way. Can be tricky at times.

You are not bricked, probably a bad flash or cable. Redo the one click and should all be fine

Just a bad flash, happened to me once. Boot back into Odin (Hold power and volume down) and redo the one click process again. Make sure nothing moves the cord or try a different one.

Your phone is not seemingly bricked.
Try the button combinations mentioned above but hold for like 20 seconds.
your NOT bricked.. just soft brick.. like suggested, calm down and hold volume down and power until it reboots into download mode again.. if its stuck at samsung logo get it to turn off by a battery pull or something and start over fresh. hard brick wont have a logo it will just be a blank screen and a solid blue led and wont do anything at all

Sometimes it can be a pain in the butt to boot into recovery or download mode. Just continue holding the button combination until it enters download mode. It might reboot and go back to the Samsung splash screen. Just hold Volume Down and Power until you are in download mode. Do not release the buttons until you have successfully entered download mode.

I'm all set. Now I'm testing roms to see if I can screw it up again . There are too many "epic" models... I have the sprint Epic, the one w/ the slide out keyboard? Is that the OG version?
A few posts ago someone mentioned a "jig"...what is that?
