Hello guys,
I am currently running on bigxies stock Android 4.1.1 AOSP Rom because in my opinion it's the smoothest and cleanest rom. While I have been running AOKP Jellybean Build 1 I discovered that it was using a different Phone.apk. In comparison to the stock Phone app I could use it in landscape and there were suggestions when typing in a number.
I would love to see the phone.apk from AOKP on my Rom, but I can't manage to get it to run...
So I need help, does anyone has got an idea?
Regards
The Phone.apk need to be signed by the same key that is used to sign the ROM for it to work, so taking the Phone.apk from AOKP and putting it on bigxie's ROM won't work because the signature will not match.

Hi Guys,
Had my Gnex for a month or so now, but only just unlocked it and rooted.
I'm interested in putting a 4.0.3 Rom on but concerned about the camera issues etc
Has anyone built a stock 4.0.3 rom without any fancy enhancements etc? I've had a look but they all seem to have Trebuchet launcher, new lock enhancements, led coulour changers etc.
I'm looking for a rom that's as stock as possible but running 4.0.3
Thanks
Paul

what camera issues?
4.0.3 is not stock, it's AOSP...
4.0.2 is official stock for GSM..closest to stock you can find is ARHD 2.1.5

A lot of people in the Rom threads mention that the fast shutter no longer works in those roms - even with different Kernels etc.
I know 4.0.3 isn't stock - i asked if there was a 4.0.3 rom that's 'like' a stock rom.
ARHD is a 4.0.2 rom.....

ZSL or Fast Shutter is Google proprietary code, that's why you don't find it in AOSP
besides, proper behavior is seen in 4.0.3, not 4.0.1/2 where pictures were taken fast but out of focus.
Try the 4.0.4 GAPPS package, the camera re-introduces long-press to focus/shoot.
or try SlimICS

I'm trying to learn more about ROM development and have run into a snag receiving MMS using MIUI stock app.
I'm basically porting a customized MIUI GB ROM. I'm using swiperrat's 2.3.2 as a reference since it's super stable. I can send MMS on the stock app but can't receive. I can receive on GoSMS.
- I tried swapping out the MMS.apk from swipers build with the one I'm porting but that didn't work.
- I verified that my build.prop is the correct.
- I also decompiled framework.jar for both the custom ROM and swipers and looked in com/android/interal/telephony/cdma/ but those files look identical in each build.
Anything else I could try? I've searched for hours and come up with no good solutions.
If I flash any of the available T9 dialers for Jelly bean, I am no longer able to add pics to stored contacts. Has anybody else experienced this? I've tried this both on Droid Conceptz AOSP and Vicious JB builds. The t9 dialer is the only addition I add to the rom. Stock JB kernels both tries.
True, only the cm10 roms have the bug free working T9 dialers
BAMF Paradigm has a T9 dialer, and no issues with contact pictures.

I'm running stock Deodexed 4.1.1 and having this problem. Is there a fix yet?!

Just ripped this out of my ROM.
Try it.
At work so I can't make it flash able.
Delete the phone.apk in whatever .zip you have and pus this one there.
Flash.
OK...its refusing to let my upload contacts.apk
Sorry!
Later...
Hello all! I've tried searching/posting in other forums, especially the MIUI forums, but I can't seem to get the help that I need. I am on an MIUI v5 3.8.29 ROM and the camera that came with the ROM does not have the quality and settings that the Touchwiz camera has. I would like to somehow install the touchwiz camera, is that possible? I have gotten different answers from different people. Some saying it is possible because MIUI has touchwiz framework and some saying that it isn't possible because MIUI doesn't have touchwiz framework. Well, which is it?
I have already tried downloading a stock deodex touchwiz ROM to try to transfer the camera over, but I'm not sure if I'm doing it right. There are a couple .apk's in the stock ROM that might pertain to the camera/gallery and those files are: SamsungCamera.apk and SecGallery2_Galaxy.apk. This is the part where I am stuck. The file in MIUI is named Gallery2.apk and there is no other file that looks like it could be the gallery and/or camera. I've tried deleting the Gallery2.apk in the MIUI ROM and replacing it with the SecGallery2_Galaxy.apk, but it will not install to my device. It keeps telling me that install is unsuccessful. Same goes for the SamsungCamera.apk. Has anyone ever done this before or could possibly guide me along? It is very important that I have a good camera for work and this stock MIUI/CM camera just isn't cutting it.
Nevermind. I guess this doesn't work because I am running MIUI with CM base not official, which is TW based.

Hello devs,
I would like to ask which library and framework jar files (if any) are related to the Phone.apk and Contacts.apk in some of the custom Android Nokia X ROMs with default Jelly bean appearance of these two apps. I am not a developer but I would like to try to port these two default Jelly bean system apps to a deodexed version of the original stock Nokia X ROM. I do not like the appearance and mostly the way these two apps behave in the stock ROM and that is why I need them ported. Would it be enough to just copy files from a Custom ROM to the Stock ROM or a change of the stock Kernel would also be necessary?
What about also a port of the Lock screen (default Jelly bean) from Custom ROMs to the Stock ROM? Which files are related to it?
Any advise and help are greatly appreciated.
I do prefer the stability of the Stock ROM but several features like the mentioned above could substantially add value to the stable Stock ROM. Unfortunately, after trying a number of custom ROMs I still prefer the stability of the Stock ROM.
