[Q] gtalk index out of bound error - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi all, how are you?
My phone is galaxy nexus Android 4.1.1 JR003C.
I am stock with unrooted phone.
Using gtalk 4.1.1_398337.
I am not sure what I have done, because out of the blue gtalk app started to crash with "index out of bound error".
I mean, every time that I log in gtalk and try to chat with someone I get "index out of bound error" in gtalk.
(I read this error on alogcat log)
I tried to clean gtalk cache and data, but either didn't word.
please, does someone know how to fix this? Is it a gtalk app bug?
thanks in advance,
Roger

Any clue? I have no ideia of what can be this issue root cause...
I tried to delete gtalk cache and data, and It didn`t work...
As gtalk is a system app and I am stock, so I can`t remove and re-install it =(

Sorry, no. Logcat shows talk dies but I can't find a reason why.

Any clue?
Please, Where can I find useful log to try to fix this issue? Our report it to Google?
Gtalk app is useless for me with this bug
Thanks

I am attaching another system log, and the bug seems to be an "ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException" when reading the chat history ( "pruneOldMessageHistory").
I tried to clean system cache in recovery cache, and it didn't work either...
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Could be this issue. No idea why it's not more widespread if it's an aosp thing though.

I am not sure if it it is the same issue, because on my phone gtalk crashes every time that I try to open a chat with someone...
I found out another similar issue:

Any suggestion?

[Q] Call history problem

Hi there!
I have a very annoying problem and I'm trying to fix it for a week but nothing changed:S
So... my problem is that when I call/am called somebody/by someone, the person turns up in the Call history of course. But when I lock my screen, and then unlock it... the call history clears:S
I used the virtuous unity rom since now and I suspected it for the problem, but didn't want to change so I tried everything... backup, reset, restore backup...etc.
Nothing changed so I tried another rom... the Android revolution... but the problem is the same:/
Could you solve this issue for me plz?
Thanks in advance!
Anyone?
I still couldn't find the solution
Please someone help me, if you know the solution!
There are still nobody who can help me?
Sounds like an overzealous privacy app. Try flashing a ROM and don't install any app and see if the problem persists or not.

I had a similar problem. Try accesing your call history via the app drawer.
If that's ok delete the shortcut on your desktop and then add it again.
Hope this helps

I've tried that and the problem is not exist for a long time... but after that it randomly occurs...
The strange thing is that sometimes it works correctly... eg: when I add a new contact, or clear the call history... but these things only worked once, my call history worked fine and then I got the error again, and after that these "methods" didn't work again:/

Thanks, but that didn't work:/
Had a similar problem once (annoying as hell)
here is how I fixed this maybe different for you but you can try...
CWM Recovery (any)
Erase All User Data (Format User Data)
Wipe Data
Wipe Cache
Wipe Dalvik Cache
and then I used FULL WIPE 1.3
then install any ROM
No more call history bug, worked for me see if it works for you
Thank you very much, but unfortunately that didn't work either
It acts as usual... fresh rom, the call history works well, and then all of a sudden it's broken:S
What ROM are you using and are you using the Recommended Radio???
Virtuous Unity 1.31 with the recommended radio flashed with UMT
Temp solutions to that...

I have that problem also after a stock rom update.
But when you typ in a number and clear it, then you'll see the call history again.
For me this is a temp solution.
For me, it's unfortunately not

Facebook for Android not working

Just my luck.. I decided to try out .sense's alpha ROM. So I backed up with Titanium Backup and installed the ROM, then restored my data. Now every time I open the Facebook app I get the little spinning circle and a toast comes up at the bottom saying "An error occurred while loading this page.". I've tried what seems to be everything - I've cleared the cache, I've wiped the data for the app and reinstalled it, I've cleared the dalvik cache through recovery and reinstalled the it, I've logged out and in, I've tried using wifi and mobile data 2G and 2G and it just doesn't want to work. What's also weird is that push notifications come through perfectly fine when I receive them, but when I tap on it to open the app, the error message just comes up again.
I saw on a SGSII thread that restoring the app+data when switching ROMs can cause problems, but I've wiped the data and cache...
Can anyone please help me? I don't want to have to get used to another app, I quite like the official one.
We all have that problem, I guess it's just because the app itself is crap.
If you get that error use Facebook 1.5.2 app.. it is working, but it is crap.

Hmm...try clearing the data for sms in the manage applications menu under settings. If that doesn't work, try booting into recovery and run fix permissions.
Mi nuh tek intimidation...
This has happened to me before when flashing new roms too. If what was said above doesnt fix it go into settings, about phone, system updates and update profile and prl then reboot the phone.

[Q] Jellytime R28: Messenger apps not working

Hi,
This is my first time messing around with my DHD and I installed the R28 build of jellytime. Although almost everything seems to be fine. I can't seem to get IM apps like talk, skype or whatsapp working on this build.
Can someone let me know if this is a popular issue with the build or if any solution is out there cause I couldn't find it.
Pretty awesome build otherwise ! :good:
Thanks
Skype worked for me when I was using this build.
What type of error do you get if any, please explain your problem!

For whatsapp the I am not able to move beyond the verification screen where the application is supposed to send you a message. Skype also does not log in. Same issue with Talk.
Instead I get an error message for both skype and whatsapp telling me I am not connected to internet ! Let me know if I can attach an errorlog or something for your better understanding.
How did you install the ROM? Clean install? Wiped everything?

I am not very familiar with the jargon so I am just going to list out the steps.
1. Used Ace Hack kit to root.
2. Wiped Cache and did factory reset/wipe from hboot.
3. The SD Card was NOT formatted.
Just a side note and I know I digress. I have tried using blackout ICS rom as well but facing the exact same issue. Plus touch input stops working.
Thanks for replying.
Update: I was able to connect whatsapp/talk/skype using my pc's internet so I think we can assume this will work on wifi as well. The problem is now more specific to the apps not working on my data connection. Off to search !
Update 2: Found a solution. The ROM created a separate APN, had to use the other one to get everything in order.
Please refer to this thread "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1800283" :victory:

Huh I don't have that issue at all. I can access APN menu and no crash... Maybe you can boot into recovery wipe cache, fix permissions and try again...You may try to wipe dalvik cache as well.

Hmm to be honest I do not know why you are having this issue..If I understood it correctly, you simply can not access APN settings and it force closes. Do you have the APN set up from your regular service provider from your country? Can you see them and delete them? May be then you can start over?
Or
Did you try to clear data for the settings app??? Maybe that can help... Of course you may (most likely) loose all your settings but that can be set again...If not, go to manage apps --> all apps --> settings and clear data and cache there and see if that works...
As a last resort, you can try a factory data reset.. That is all I can think of at the moment.

you dont need to get full android sdk, you just need
adb.exe
AdbWinApi.dll
AdbWinUsbApi.dll
you can get it somewhere, just google it.
connect your phone to pc using usb, you have to install samsung usb driver first.
and type on command prompt inside folder where adb exist
adb.exe logcat > logcat.txt
then try open your apn again, where fc happen.
it will show what happen when fc.
you can post your logcat here. but dont open logcat to long, it can produce big file.
it seems arco have been fixed the issue

Looks to me like you have a Phone.apk from another ROM, my friend. I suppose you didn't go pristine when installing CM10.1 otherwise you wouldn't have had this issue. Or/and you probably installed some mods too.
So, I will give you the link to a nice little thread, especially designed for CM10.1 discussions/bug reports: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2185109
Also, I would highly suggest following that tutorial in the first post. Not because it was written by me, but because it has been proven effective all this time.
