Transparent Battery door??? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Accessories

Hi,
I'm looking for a replacement battery door.
With the popularity of the Samsung Galaxy lines, I'm surprised that there are no varieties of battery covers. Just the brushed aluminum backs and the basic plastic covers with a variety of basic colours.
But has anyone seen clear transparent battery doors?
the Iphone has one
and here are some translucent ones, but what I really want is a transparent one.
I guess the Galaxy Line isn't popular enough?
Here are some other links Google found.

Thanks for the reply. Maybe by the 4th generation Note or Galaxy S we will see some Transparent battery door. We already have it in the cases. I think it looks better than opaque covers.

Wow, that would be cool. I'd totally pay 30,50 for it hehe. But I'd get it for my future Galaxy Note 2 hehe.

I've also been looking for this, would be cool, can't find one anywhere. That metal back cover you mentioned, is it the one on eBay by any chance? If so I bought one and it didn't fit, the catches where out of place and only one side clipped in. Also its described as replacement cover but its more of a case, the metal part it stuck over the battery cover which means its a lot thicker than replacement so no case can be used with it. Just a friendly warning in case anyone was going to buy

If the battery cover comes in translucent black. That will be cool

Battery/back cover advice

I prefer a rubber/grippy back to my phones, and the current white Note back is too slippery/shiny for my taste. Does anybody know of any back cover replacement (not a case, and not with the screen protector attachment) I could buy? Thanks!
There are a lot of case that will add that grippy feel your looking for but I think your looking for a simple battery cover replacement. There are a lot of those out there but I dont remember seeing any that has a rubberised texture your looking for. You might have better luck searching for a 3M like film that will cover your battery cover, I've seen a few that offer carbon fiber that might help with the grip but not exactly the rubber feel your looking. I will keep my eyes open if I see one and let you know.
Found this one:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Leather-Skin...924042?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item27c32851ca
(Leather but still for grip)

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/white-PU-lea...ccessories&hash=item2a1b8d698c#ht_4415wt_1037
(white)
Also Just a reminder that these are for the international version, If you have the AT&T version I've heard that the battery door snap ins are a little different.

DX do lots of these, I have a this one, but there are many others. I bought a few of these and figured I would just swap them out as they got scratched. keeps the phone nice and slim and they actually work out cheaper than cases!

I've got a couple of these, not the same brand since mine has the Samsung logo on them. There nice because the do add just a little thickness which i like because it raised the camera just a touch so it doesn't get scratched. I think the OP wanted something with a little more grip, but I don't find these nearly as slippery as the gloss white cover.
Just phenomenal everyone, thanks for the input. I think I'll try one of the metal covers! Just worried about too much added thickness, and maybe color clashing since I see some black around the border of the cover, and I have a white note. Can you guys comment on the quality of the cover? The metal cover thread seems to have conflicting reports, from 'beautiful' to 'lacking in quality.' thanks again.

Metal covers = attenuated cellphone signal = worse battery life. There's a trade off.
I'm looking for a battery cover that has a matte finish. Haven't found any unfortunately.

For those using these replacement back cover, does it still fit the Samsung Car Dock?
I am curious if these covers add extra thickness such that it will not fit the dock anymore.

Thats the first thing i worry about when getting a case / cover. Most docks are designed for the naked phone, so your stuck between a protected undockable phone or a scratched up one.....no way im taking the case off everytime i charge the phone, geez...i cannot wait for wireless charging to become the norm...

Custom battery covers?

Hey all,
Have there been any (other) custom battery covers for the Gnex? I've seen and read the following:
* the limited edition - Looks like LV, not really into that
* the one in MWC - smooth, blank, but custom crystal designs. I was actually interesting in finding a blank one... Never found any.
* White cover - from white Gnex. Don't think it will go well on the "titanium silver Gnex"
* 3rd party metal backs - problems with NFC and GPS. Was planning to get them until I heard these problems
Ideally, I want a black plastic one (without that texture at the back, just smooth)... matte or gloss would be fine. Does anything like this even exist or would you guys just recommend getting a decal? Is there an option to only get the back cover section? I don't plan to cover the whole phone.

Saw it once, but slipped my mind I like the texture, but was really looking for a more "plain" design. Think this one will come the closest to me wants so far though.
Looks like I might just need to get some decals, interesting find while browsing your suggested thread:

Ebay had a few knockoffs of the limited edition Google battery cover for a little while. If you want a black version, I would say keep your eye on ebay and just grab one of those knockoffs, then paint it with vinyl dye.
Neither Samsung nor any third parties have ever developed a plain battery cover for the Galaxy Nexus. You either get the stock textured battery cover, or one of the Google or Docomo limited covers. Personally I went through the extra work and expense to import a Docomo limited cover for my Galaxy Nexus. The texture feels great and I love the design, so for me it was well worth it.

You think that would be better than plastic spray paint? I'm not trying to change the texture of the door, I just want a white door for my extended battery.

The only way to get them is to buy them through auction sites in Japan, but to even buy and have them shipped you need to be a Japanese resident. Since I'm not a resident, I signed up for an account with Shopping Mall Japan, where they act as a middleman to allow U.S. residents to purchase goods from Japanese auctions. It takes a few weeks to complete the whole process and can end up being pretty costly, but in all I paid about $40 (not counting the minimum deposit required by sites like Shopping Mall Japan, so $50 total).
For the auction, I went through Yahoo Japan. A helpful search phrase for the battery door would be something like "SC-04D プレミアムキャンペーン リアカバー". Hopefully you have a basic grasp of the Japanese language, otherwise you'll have to rely on Google Translate a lot to find what you're looking for.

Vinyl dye is better if you want just a single flat color and are planning on spending a lot of time handling the parts after spraying. There's no sanding or prep work required, and you only need one coat and it dries within minutes, so there is a very minimal change to the texture of the part compared to painting with several coats. High gloss parts will lose their sheen, but matte parts usually are about the same after spraying.
I would only recommend regular paints to someone who has a lot of experience with painting plastic parts, and if you're not a fan of just a plain, single color.

I just painted my extended battery door with plastic spray paint yesterday. It's still drying, but it looks fine. It's semi-gloss and not the same exact color, but oh well.
I have a white Verizon door coming in that I'll probably trim to fit.

Yes this would be great, especially if the color differences could be highlighted.
A while ago i sanded the original cover and painted it grey because i love the minimalistic look but without the texture at the back it looked cheap
Looks cool, that's pretty much I was looking for. Guess I can just find the cheapest cover on eBay and do this myself .
Can't really see in the pic, but did that turn out glossy or matte?

I will try to take some more pics
if you polished it you will get a glossy and smooth finish, if you didn't it will be rough and almost matte
Look at the second pic you will get orange peel if you didn't polish it and it looks ugly and only visible from an angle
I will post some pics after polishing later
Awesome work

White Metal Bumper Review w/ Hex Screws

Not much of a reviewer here, but I ordered this from eBay about 2 weeks ago and it arrived today from China. Packaging was a bit strange and is advertised as a Flip Cover i9300. It comes with 1 driver for the screws which can be put on your keychain. 6 screws ( 4 for the phone and 2 extra on the driver ). The overall feel is pretty smooth. The paint seems a bit cheap and might chip easily over time. The buttons are a bit difficult to access.. thats my main gripe, but not near as bad as pressing really hard on the otterbox commuter. No dramatic signal loss that I can tell .. I benchmarked at -87 and with the case -95. Pictures behind the link to show it off in action. If you have any questions please post them here!

Thanks for the pics, I ordered the same case and am waiting for it to arrive. Glad to see the signal loss isnt too bad.
EDIT: Quick question, how is the padding inside the bumper. This was my main concern with buying one.
Looks nice but buttons look a bit mad. I got this

It's really nice and quite flush. I was a bit worried about the slide action but it sits tight. My 4th case so far.
I want to get one but i really do not see the point in buying one for two reasons..
1. The back bit of the phone is the bit i want to protect this doesn't keep it from getting scratched and stuff.
2. It's ugly lol..

So you bought a fake Triobump. The real one gets real loose and flimsy. Doesn't speak much for the fake one.

bought the same one in black for my white s3. case is perfect fit for a pouch. previous smoke tpu case would always shut the phone off
would of bought it if it covered the buttons, so it would be easier to press. also, having a nice backplate would be nice, but i was thinking of just buying the white carbon fiber back

The bumper alone drops reception about 5db, adding a metal backplate would encase the phone in a faraday cage, thus drooping reception to 0. making it no longer a phone, be glad no-one has offered that, because anyone that bought it, would be wasting money.
wow i really like the look and shape of that metal bumper, I think it looks really nice!
I wonder if they have a version with buttons instead of holes.
I have a "fake triobump" without buttons, and its easy enough to use once you get used to it, I'd still prefer to have buttons for the cleaner look and ease of use.
the hex screw bumper with buttons would be perfect!
btw my "fake triobump" was slightly loose fitting at first, but it was very snug once i put on my screen protector and fake carbon fiber backplate (which also slightly recesses the camera :good I LOVE the fit and feel of this combination.

LOL the GS3 back is simple to replace and only $7 to get a new OEM one. I don't see a reason to add the bulk of a full case when I can just add a bumper to the part that's harder to protect.

the impossible to find case

unlike most people i prefer soft silicone cases. it makes the phone stick to damn near any surface and that is important for me. i would LOVE to find a case that integrates the silicone into the back battery cover (replaces the cover) and also follows the shape of the phone to the sides (bumpers). i have seen some "hybrid" cases that are metal/plastic on the back with silicone bumpers but they are cases and not battery cover replacements.
anyone understand what im shooting for? its not so much protection from being dropped but more the ability for the phone to "not slip" on various surfaces.
i would also entertain a combination of soft silicone bumpers and a different battery cover as long as the silicone bumper is raised off the back and front enough to provide grip/protection.

Personally I have a "carbon" skin on the back plate, and an aluminum bumper, but I had looked into getting a silicone one. The sticker on the back A) looks cooler B) gets rid of the stupid Tmobile branding, and C) does make it a littler easier to grip in hand, but I doubt it adds much grip to other surfaces.
I would think it pretty unlikely that there will be what you are looking for unless you were to make one/have one made. You might be able to find some sort of stick on product to attach to the battery cover though. I am thinking you could maybe take one of those pads designed to put on your dashboard to make things stick to the pad, and instead apply it directly to your phone. Might be pretty thick though, but that would also give you some protection. Then you could get a silicone bumper on ebay for a few bucks and have something similar to what you are looking for.

So, you basically want the opposite setup of an Otterbox? Soft silicone on the back?
This crazy query netted me a ton of results. Note 2 silicone case.
This isn't exactly what you are looking for, as you need the harder case to snap into the battery compartment, but it might be a start?
http://www.wirelessemporium.com/p-145863-samsung-galaxy-note-ii-silicone-case-white-.asp
I would hate to have to put your phone into any sort of pocket, lol!
Not sure if you'll ever find once since the NFC chip is integrated into the battery door which means whoever makes a replacement will have to include a NFC chip (which I don't see as very likely)
Oh, good point, didn't think of that.
double sided tape on the back of your choice of cases.
i have already ordered a simple silicone case with screen covers for the day to day until i find what im looking for.
also i found this last night after making this post
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Soft-Silico...1?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item43b5c04917#shId
say delivery time is a month or so LOL but its only a few $ and looks like it has silicone edges front and back. i figure this will work great with a dark blue brushed aluminum back cover that seems to get so much love/hate on this forum.
There are a ton of bumpers. That's not the hard part. What you wont find is a silicone backplate, for the reasons listed above.

You actually don't have to have the NFC chip on the battery door. There's a ton of replacement back doors on eBay for the Note II that explicitly state no NFC in their description so it's not a requirement per say as long as the person buying it knows and is fine with not having NFC.
Personally, I went and bought one of those battery door replacements with built in flip cover for the front on eBay and made sure to buy one that did have the NFC chip. I doubt I'll ever use it but just in case.
When I looked though there was a ton that said no NFC.
yea, i really dont care about nfc... why not have a plastic battery cover with a rubbery/silicone back coating? does not have to be thick like a case, just enough to keep everything from sliding around... sounds simple enough.
If you don't mind modifying your backplate and really just want to ensure that it does not slide around as much, you might try applying a few thin layers of this - http://www.homedepot.com/buy/perfor...ubber-coating-spray-11203-6.html#.UKvGrod9JjY

It's also stuck on there. With enough patience and motivation it could be removed and attached to a new backplate. Might ruin the original, but that's replaceable.

True, but my point still stands, meaning most manufacturers won't want to tackle that problem. And yes, if you don't care about NFC then this doesn't really matter.

That picture conveniently crops out the two corners where the bumper comes together so I would be careful using that photo as evidence of a good fit.
On a side note, I'm using the Draco with Samsung genuine extended and I'm very happy with the fit and how it looks. I posted photos in the thread for that battery.

any white covers available for draco?
Thank you for this thread! Been upgrading my s3. I like my tech to look good the way people like good looking cars. So I also decided to go with the draco. Overkill but no other cases looked as good.*happy to see how handsome your draco-seidio rig looks.
Wondering if anyone knows of a white extended battery back to fit with the Draco? The seidio extended cover doesn't seem to come in white or other colors (waiting on an email from them to verify).*
The one thing my kick ass Draco look needs (after finding a white back) is a kick stand. Does anyone know if the white mugen kickstand cover work with Draco? I suspect it does not - the Seidio has what looks like a step down near the outer edges which is close to "stock" thickness. The mugen is thick all the way to the edge. File it down maybe? I'm lazy. .prefer no modding.
Any advice appreciated.* White extended battery covers thin enough for draco with a kickstand* dont seem to exist. .. done lots of searching!* I would settle for no kickstand i suppose.* but really want white (preferably with larger battery than the Samsung brand extended battery cover which does look good so I may have to settle for that )
To see the mugen see their website at

Any advice appreciated.* White extended battery covers thin enough for draco with a kickstand* dont seem to exist. .. done lots of searching!* I would settle for no kickstand i suppose.* but really want white (preferably with larger battery than the Samsung brand extended battery cover which does look good so I may have to settle for that )
To see the mugen see their website at

greetings! Thanks for the response! I love xda.
So after some back and forth with seidio they claim the extended door is available in colors even though amazon and their own site don't show colors. They say i have to voice call to special order the white or other color door. So this is great news.
Before I order i need to confirm some things if you would be so kind. Firstly, in other xda posts this battery door is the one listed as draco compatible:
BVY35SSGS3
However seidio's site doesn't return a match on this part number when you do an internal site search, though if you search via google you get a link to a forgotten page on their website with no image... interesting. This item is about 15$.
Now I also see this door on seidio's site:
Product Code: CSR5SSGS3-BK
Which is called the "surface" . is this comparable to the one listed above? it's double the price.
their site also has a kickstand model which I am hoping will work. I know you don't know for sure but looking at the screenshots they provide what is your best judgement? Do you think it would fit? It has the step down design near the edges but still looks a little thicker. Maybe I could still squeeze the draco around it??
DILEX™ Extended with Metal Kickstand for use with Seidio Innocell® 3500mAh Super Extended Life Batteries - Black
MSRP: US$34.95
Product Code: CSK3SSGS3XK-BK
Finally, should I just go with the innocell 3500mah battery they sell or do you recommend another battery brand to fit this door? I'm ok with not having a zerolemon 7000 battery.
I appreciate anyone's help
