I currently have the Hyperion Honeycomb case and like how it looks, but not how it feels(feels slippery or slick). Is the qcell case made from a softer gel like material that might be gripper or is it a hard plastic/tpu esque feel.?
Are there any other extended battery cases besides these two (and one other one ebay)?
I read numerous pages back and have checked amazon, ebay and Google and it's always back to these two cases.

I got this one on ebay. It is made for the Anker extended battery cover but it fits over my Qcell battery cover. Tight fit but looks great. It is still a TPU cover and the sides are glossy/slippery but the back looks like frosted glass so it is not as slippery.
All in all, not bad for five bucks shipped.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/280936695627?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
Edit:
Btw, I have the Qcell case and it is also completely glossy, so it is also slippery. It does not work on the Anker backplate. Too loose. Blue color does look nice with my white SGS3.
OT, the Anker 4400 beats the sh1t out of the Qcell by a mile.

I have a Hyperion 4200 with NFC and its fantastic. Yeah thats the TPU case I saw on ebay. Looking for something thats a bit more grippy. I've hit myself in the face with my phone a few times already with the Hyperion HoneyComb case (in bed, phone above my face). Extended battery adds a good amount of heft when its coming downwards!

have you thought of modifying the hyperion case?
I would say try plastidip it adds a matte slightly rubbery coating tho things.. it is used for making those rubber grips on tools.
Thought about it, but worried about rub off and possible tearing or peeling

well, i have done wheels on a car with it, and it lasted a long time... and it nevr seems to hurt anything. i just peel it off each spring, and reapply. it is cheap and easy.. and non permanent, if you don't like it. (i have actually been considering getting the OD green and doing my whole car.. but that is a tale for another forum.)

behold, another view.. albeit black (a better color), and either on a NON extended battery phone, or a mugen extended battery (mugen has a different camera cutout: one large depression.)
personally, i don't trust it.
in the title it says it is Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), but in the description it says silicone. if THEY don't know what it is made of, how would anyone else?
Looks like Onite makes the same case too

I just got it today, it feels really nice compared to the one I got at the Verizon store. I'm definitely taking the Verizon garbage back. This was really inexpensive, and seems like it will protect my phone just fine. It also seems like you could get a full body Zagg/Skinomi/Body Guardz/Ghost Armor in there too, but it'll fit snug.
Just got the Amzer Argyle TPU cover off Amazon for about $10. I like it so far, and should hold me over until Otterbox releases a Defender for the T-bolt.

Yeah awesome case. TPU is the best. I have grey argyle and posted about in in another thread - very good choice for cheap.

i bought a cheapy for the time being too....cant wait for the otterbox, wish they had pre-released them
Are the Amzer ones on Amazon $10 plus shipping? I got mine for 6 dollars with free shipping. Dirt cheap, stylish and decent protection! They seem to be IDENTICAL to the Amzer ones.
I had an Amzer case like this for my DroiodX, but I found the areas that covered the buttons too stiff to get a good feel for when they were actually pressing the buttons underneath. What is the consensus on the feel of the covered buttons?

the plastic covering the power and volume buttons is very stiff. you can still press the buttons through the plastic and i don't see why this would make you choose a different case.

Yeah, I got the Verizon silicone one which I don't mind but I am going to snatch the Otterbox one up the second it hits. Had it on my Eris forever and it saved my Eris from several drops.
I actually found the same TPU Argile (diamond) smoke grey case on eBay for $3.95 each, I got two so I can cut one open for an extended battery.
We sell those at my store, a premium verizon agent. I personally returned mine cuz the buttons are too hard to hit through the case. Bought a real nice one off ebay

Ditto, I only bought one though and have to say I am pretty happy.
Did you cut into it to accommodate the extended battery? I got the argile one's for test cutting, then I am figured I would go for the HTC ones like you posted.
I took the opportunity to slam HTC in the survey they sent me for their piss poor lack of accessories available on their site, since the ThunderBolt isn't even listed, and that they had so much time to actually make a case that fit the extended battery and failed to do so.
Seriously everyone has an extended battery and no cases is no excuse.
I had the Amzer Argyle one for my Dx... im tempted to purchase one now except for the fact that I'm running the extended battery.
I used these with my BB's and was happy to see they support the Tbolt now - ordered 2

I bought something similar off of eBay for 7 bucks including shipping and am very happy with it. The gel definitely helps improve grip when holding it.

Anyone have any recommendations for some good gel casing, just got my phone about 2 weeks ago but not looking for any hard casing for the bulkiness , just a nice gel case to protect if any fall damage
I wouldn't call it gel, but I have the ringke case and it's fantastic. You can find a coupon code online and only pay $10, free shipping.

Second on the Ringke case. It's been excellent.
The silicon case they sell at the Verizon store has worked well enough for me. Make sure to get the glossy one, otherwise it will pick up pocket lint.
read reviews and im hooked with it, got the price down to 13.00 with only working coupon code i found weare2cool, got the audio jacks seeing i never use them, hopefully it was a good buy ^_^
The only problem I found with the Ringke is it covers the sensor a little bit.

Mine doesn't?
Is the ringke case just a plain silicone case or is it like the TPU material that does't gather lint? I am looking for cases but the silicone ones get stuck on things when my phone is in my pocket and pulls things out of my purse with it. Haha.
Ringke case FTMFW! I was one of the lucky ones that was sent a free one and I LOVE it. If it actually ever stretches out, Ill be buying another one and Id recommend it to anyone thats not looking for something bulky.

OH! Yes, it does cover up the proximity sensor a little, but I personally cut a tiny triangle where the sensor is. It didnt ruin the "Structural Integrity" of the case so to speak, but my sensor works perfect.
I got the Ringke but to me it seems just like scratch protection witch is not bad, but i rather have protection from a drop, the glass on TB is easy to break iv fixed a few of these. I might just stick to my insideo case i have for now. But the ringke is very nice.

sorry to butt in on the thread here, but is there a gel case for the Seidio extended battery to or just the stock?
Bought one!
Hello friend,
If you want to protect your phone from any damage, then at amazon.com you can find the excellent quality of HTC thunderbolt case that will give you 100% protection from any kind of damage.
the "gel" case they sell at the verizon store for the stock TB is decent. however, if you have an extended battery, do not get the ones on amazon for $12.99 that they offer in multiple colors. i got the black one and it feels kind of loose(especially around the extended battery and the sides) + it's not cut correctly in back where the kick stand comes out and it's a bit of a pain to use the kick stand.
i'd like to find a good quality one for the extended battery... possibly even that mugen 4500 battery if i end up getting that(which i probably will eventually)
Try handhelditems.com they have cheap and good cases

Just bought the extended battery at Verizon for half off, also walked out with the Incipio double case. This case feels tough and sure can take s beating, great for outdoor work and kids dropping my phone. But this case is a little too thick for my liking.
But on weekends or going out would like a second thinner case. What thin cases fit the extended battery ? Anything like the Feather or Rearth slim fit ?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I just use ghost armor full body, and then I use a belt clip pouch that I drop my phone into. It is the slimmest option, I protect the whole phone from scratches, and I can keep it on my side. I'm not really worried about dropping it, because even with a case if you drop it in the right spot, you will end up with a broken phone. That's what insurance is for. At least that's my opinion. I hope this helps.
I just picked up the Diztronic case below and it fits great and doesn't add much thickness to the phone- nice and thin. I don't have my extended battery yet but per the reviews this case fits, just a little more tightly which is fine with me.

+1 on the Diztronic 3rd revision case. I am running it and I love it. I have 3 other cases and this is now my daily driver. You can even leave the extended battery cover on too. I use the Incopio when I need extra protection.
Also a big +1 on the Diztronic rev 3 case. Full access to all controls, full protection yet thin. Just about perfect as far as cases go and I have tried a few.
Diztronic has very upstanding customer service to boot!

I've been bugging Rearth about making their RingKe case to fit the Verizon w/ extended battery. This case has been getting a lot of accolades here...
With the Verizon extended battery going for $24.99, it should just come standard with the phone. At such a cheap price, and only adds like a business card extra thickness it is so worth it. Plus you may get up to 2 extra hours on it over stock.
Point being, with extended battery so popular, I would hope case companies realize this, and pump out cases that are officially designed for it.

My local Verizon store didn't have any in stock but they ordered it for me w/ free 2-day shipping. Still $24.99
I went into the biggest Verizon store in my area, called first asked if they had the Nexus extended battery, they said YES, and tons of accessories too. Go in there and they said the battery is 50% off, they had like 4 on the shelf. Just call the largest Verizon store in your area, I am sure they stock them.
I am using the phone today with no case, crosses fingers The Incipio 2pc case was just way too bulky for me, felt like a my old EVO 4G which was a giant. Back to caselsss and this phone looks awesome, the gray color makes this phone looks stealth, like something a pilot from F-22 Raptor plane would have in the cockpit I just want a razor thin case to go around this now.
Oddly enough I tried the High gloss silicone Verizon case and its is really nice. feels thin in the hand
I use the SGP capsule case. Its clearly designed for the GSM version because my Verizon + extended battery keeps the lips from grabbing the edges all the way.
But the phone is on there and not going anywhere. You'd have to really look at it to see what I'm talking about.
I'm still waiting for something specifically designed for the Verizon with extended battery.

Does anyone know if the Diztronic case works with the GSM Galaxy Nexus with an extended battery?
The best case I've tried period that also works with the extended battery is the Case-Mate Pop case. It was recalled initially due to a lack of clearance around the micro usb port. In about another two weeks they'll have the second revision out and it will be my daily driver.
I've tried the Case-Mate Tough Case, the Boxwave Active, the Boxwave Slim Rubberized Shell Case, and the Seidio Surface. The Pop case sucked less than the rest and fits the extended battery with good protection and minimal bulk.
can't comment if it's the thinnest, but it fits and looks good.

So I got a trexcell 3800extended battery and gotta say, I love it. Totally great for 20$.
BUT
I need a case. And can't seem to find out if the seidio covers will fit it?
The battery and door make it a bit bulky but comfy in the hand but I've dropped it twice now and it just snaps right out and sounds horrible and I don't feel like letting my gorgeous fone die.
Any suggestions?

I'm in the same boat right now. Not to many choices in accessories when it comes to extended batteries. You still have a couple of options though. Leather pouches, bumper cases (not all might fit)
the one I have my eye on is the seidio extended battery rugged cases. I have been looking at this for a bit now trying to see if it will fit over my mugen 4000 mah back cover door.

--Edited for a more thorough review--
Well I ordered the surface extended backdoor and case. I received the backdoor today (case was ordered yesterday should receive it next week. The backdoor fits over the 4200 mah hyperion battery with no problem and looks and feels better than the door you get with the extended batteries. Design and price are A+.
Bad thing is it came crammed in a box smaller than the retail packaging and one of the side clips was busted so it doesn't sit flush atm. I already sent an email to Seidio so hopefully they rectify it. It feels lighter and almost as slim as stock.
UPDATE:
Seidio Customer Service RMA'd the battery door and sent out a replacement asap. The replacement snaps in perfectly!
DESIGN:
The battery door and the case both feel excellent, sturdier than the flimsy stock door and the case is a nice hard and just as thick material wise as the normal Surface case. Both the door and case have that nice soft/rubbery/grippy feel, definitely helps prevent the phone from slipping out of your hands. Also the way the door and case are designed(top and bottom are slim, then a slight curve our to cover the battery) it just sits in the palm of your hand perfectly. It feels "just right" weight wise. The case also provides enough of a lip in front of the screen to protect it if you put it face down. As with any of these types of cases though angles could mean something else though.
PRICE:
Now the price might put some people off. But I already about a Pt(Platinum) case from Best Buy when I bought my SGS3 which is essentially the Seidio Surface case with Holster. The battery door cost $15 + shipping, then a week later I purchased the case ($29.95) + shipping. You can get the case + holster for a little bit more, but the battery door as of now needs to be ordered separately. I spent about $50 all together ontop of the $15 I paid for my Hyperion Battery so your running into Otterbox territory price wise, but now you have a better case, a holster (if need be) and a bigger battery when your out.
Seidio Customer service said they do run promotions from time to time so you could luck out and save money on this package.
CS:
Probably one of the few times I had to call customer service for a case warranty, but they were very polite, answered very quickly and shipped out my replacement asap. They didn't require me to ship my broken one back to them either. They do require images of the product showing the defective areas.
I have attached screenshots to this post of the case, which snaps over the Seidio battery door. You cannot use this case unless you are using the battery door from Seidio as its molded in the same fashion. The battery door screenshots are further down in this thread(still working on combining them into this first post).
The Battery door can fit over the following battery sizes:
3500 mah
4000 mah
4200 mah
4400 mah
I do not think the 4600+ mah batteries will work as they are too thick/tall.
This is a really good backdoor option for those of us running extended batteries.

Is this case so far the only higher protection case available that supports extended batteries? I only know of this one and the cases from hyperion and qcell. I got the qcell case on the hyperion battery but want something more rugged, dont like the slippery feeling.
I have a white sgs3 as shown and like the StormTrooper look lol. The Surface Extended case(still waiting to receive it) is essentialy the Surface Case which is great(have it for stock battery). It let's you use the Seidio Holster it came with. You can use the same holster with the Hyperion battery door and honeycomb tpu if you bought it.
I prefer the slimmer profile and feel of this battery door. Also it is sturdier than the Hyperion which has cracked on me by the charging port
