Same with jelly beer no modem ...really all will work. If your worried just flash the rom then flash the modem.. BTW if it didn't work it won't kill the phone just flash another rom or restore

I apologise. It didn't occur to me that the chipsets were the same, unlike previous Samsung releases

Someone said they have the AT&T Jellybeer rom running perfectly on our T889, I need to flash our modem though, correct? Does anyone have a zip link to one, I can't seem to find a recovery flashable one? I'm kind of excited now, since our forum seems so quiet.

No need to flash a modem. Clean install first, then just flash the rom and flash gapps. I'm currently running Jelly Beer. :good:
I have Jelly Thunder running fine on mine, I just stayed in recovery and flashed Persius kernel for our device after flashing the ROM, everything working here.

Wait, the modem is the same? So not used to having a phone with the same specs, Lol. I do have to flash a different kernel though?

Modem is not the same, but I am assuming the roms that doesn't include a modem will not replace the one you have now

Yea, I just asked someone in the Jellybeer thread if I had to worry about that, or flash a modem, or kernel. To be on the safe side.... if so, Mmm..... back on AOSP, is going to feel so good. Lol

I too am running jellybeer and it is great it will do for now till whitehawkx and cmenard relese a nice shiny new AOKP rom for us (fingers crossed) it has some AOKP features in it. All I have to say is read read read and when you are done and think you got it read again. All the info is in the the first few posts of a rom thread. just make sure that there is no modem mostr devs do not include a modem but I have notices a few that are starting to put one in so just watch if they do they usually say so because like I said it is not standard pratice.
I do have a question I have not flashed any touchwiz att roms only the unofficial cm10 and jellybeer. So on the TW roms do you have to flash o tmo kernel? The reason I ask is because on the s2 the main difference was the rotation. It was always messed up so the way to fix it was to use a tmo kernel or vice versa . Until someone made a .zip that fixed that and the device name in the build.prop so is that the same situation here.. It doesnt sound like it.
And one m ore question while I am here I posted a question in the q&A thread if anyone knows the proper lcd density. I dont like the way jellybeer is it has small fonts on the phone but everything in the market is way too big and it is driving me nutts.

That i dont know, all the note II has the same hardware, correct me if im wrong. so i dont know if flashing a tmo note II kernel with a Att TW rom will work. but CleanRom is using Persus, and i think Tmo N2 has Persus kernel, so maybe it will work
Here it is guys, i took the risks with my heart pounding every second when it was installing and booting
Using CleanRom by scrosler, here is the link
I flashed the rom, in aroma, i choosed ATT as the carrier and persus kernel, then the rest is pretty self explanatory
then i flashed Tmo modem and Tmo Persus Kernel
it booted and it is running, i powered it off and took out the battery to test if it will power back on again, and indeed it did
Clean rom works perfectly without a flaw.. no need to install any kernel, modem or anything .

Unfortunately I haven't had the time to keep up with the XDA forums. Would someone please be so kind as to give me links to a current and stable rooted stock rom and modem images?
Preferably something I can flash directly from TWRP.
I'm still running a JC rom with J1 baseband, so it's really well past time to update.
There are so many posts out there, I'm a bit confused as to what is current and stable. My apologies in advance, if missed a current post that covers (admittedly likely).
I have a 64G SD card, so I'd need a stock kernel or a kernel that supports exfat.
Thanks in advance!

I would go with Digiblur ROM.
Awesome. I found the t3project rom by looking up the digiblur rom. This is precisely what I'm looking for.
I'll probably flash digiblur on top, since it loos like it packages the essential mods.
Thanks for your help!

Hey guys im new to this phone i was really into my Motorola Cliq . Before I went threw a few phones but i stumbled onto the Samsung SII from boost (also known as Epic 4g touch) im not new to xda but this account is i rooted with framaroot And i used mobile odin light to flash a recovery . SMP PREEMPT
my build number
JZO54K.SPH-D710.GC01'
Hardware version
D710.10
software version
GC01
android version

this is a boost phone and is pretty much identical to sprints .
i have a recovery and the phone is rooted .
I just need to know how to properly install a rom on this phone if it is possible .
my biggest scare is that its a boost phone .
I have a AGAT GB27_v1.3.0 (that is the recovery installed on this phone)
Now I think that was all the information i could think that u guys would need to know .
THANKS!! For reading and helping me out !
The only thing needed for roms to work on your phone is to change the apn for mms to work. Otherwise all roms will work. Read the how to not brick your phone thread for details on flashing. Good luck.

I too am on Boost. I also built a stock, debloated, GC01, that way your won't have to change mmsc. Here's the link with step by step instructions for install. Good luck, and enjoy.

APN and MMSC settings are really the only things that you have to do unless the ROM is made for the Boost variant.

So after rooting and flashing TWRP I rebooted my phone and now my wifi won't even turn on I'm on stock 4.1.2 any ideas?
P.s. I did try a factory reset with no success

Sounds like a kernel issue. I suggest flashing a TouchWiz kernel with your recovery.
What root method did you use?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T999 using xda premium
Rooted via odin/s3 toolkit
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Used to be an issue I think, not positive though. Like I said, most likely Kernel related so flash a Touchwiz kernel that is for your Build version... 4.1 JellyBean or 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Worked perfect reflashed stock kernel. Thanks for the help idk why I didn't think to do that in the first place

Same Problem
I have a Galaxy S III T-999, I rooted it last night using Odin and S3 toolbox, and now the WiFi won't turn on. I don't know what a Touchwiz kernel and stock kernel are, or how to find them.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

I took the update 4.3 and took a way to get the 4.3 stock rom, and used Kingo to root my phone.
Curious if there is a way to add custom roms again.

Wrong forum
And no. This is why you never take OTA updates if you are rooted.
definitely wrong thread but I do believe you can install safestrap recovery and then use that for installing/running custom roms but you're gonna have to go to the right forums for verizon to search and find out...I only know cause I did my friends brand new s4 from Verizon and it's on 4.3 and I rooted it, installed safestrap ONLY to create a backup rom just in case anything went wrong when we cleaned out his bloatware, and on the s4 it can run roms by using safestrap but it's not my phone to mess with so I left it as is for him...rooted, debloated, backed up and running smooth
Sorry guys not sure what forum I should be in then??
