Anyone have issues turning on bluetooth while running the new 4.0.3/4.0.4?
It takes me a good dozen trys for it to turn on.
nope, no problem at all
maybe you just need a good clean & wipe, to re-install everything from scratch again, instead of restoring backups

I have tried doing that, along with multiple different roms. Always do a darkside wipe, than factory wipe before rom in stall, than darkside cache wipe and factory cache and davik wipe after.
have you tried using just a plain stock rom via ODIN?
just trying to rule out if it's a hardware problem or software problem
if it's a hardware problem, it shouldn't even work at all, so it still seems like just some piece of software preventing you from properly enabling/disabling bluetooth
I too will have intermittent Bluetooth issues with a couple of 4.0.x ROMs and I did not use any app restores. Usually a phone reboot gets it working again though.
OK - installed Clones/Drones v4 ICS yesterday, and Bluetooth will not turn on today - just stays at attempting to turn on bluetooth.... And yes I followed in install procedures to a tee. Will try a different ROM today.

Yes, I still have the same issue after 2 repair attempts by samsung. First attempt, they flashed the firmware, second attempt, they replaced a component. (Never told me which component)
When I try turning on bluetoot, it just seems like it's trying to enable itself, but just hangs. I have to restart the phone several times before it works again.
I have an SGH-T989 factory unlocked and using it with Straight Talk
I'm using stock 4.0.4 and I've only had my phone crash once, and that was when I turned on blue tooth and quickly closed the status bar and tried to open an app. It just rebooted and was fine after that.
The blue tooth on this phone turns on almost instantly compared to my old Galaxy Ace though. Either way, I think there are a few blue tooth issues with this phone, just not ones that I notice as severely as the OP

I have seached and find reference to this pattern in multiple posts, but never an answer to what it means. Ever since ec05 my phone randomly does the pattern sometimes with no apparent problems or sometimes it happens while loading an app and then it force closes.

try re-flashing and that should solve your problem
Thanks, I will. I was just thinking there must be a meaning to the pattern. I seem to remember my moment did that once in a while also.

Any update if re-flashing fixed it? I'm having that problem as well, so odin again back to DI18 then flash using the update.zip again?
I have been busy all weekend and haven't had time. Will post results tomorrow. I just think there must be a description of what that means since I have had it happen on another android device also.
I think ultimately it may be a bad flash though because randomly I lose my signal and it doesn't come back until a reset. This happens when I am in a low signal area.

Sorry it took so long to get back here.
I finally had time yesterday to go back to DI18. I couldn't remember the hard reset recommendations so I did that before and after running Odin. I was going to run the update.zip, but got sidetracked. When I got back to my phone it had d/l the OTA. I ran that then did another hard reset and cleared the cache. Then I ran 2.5.5 one click, and I may have even did one more hard reset at that time. (I know a little anal)
I also formatted my SD card (I think I read somewhere that this can be an issue also)
Since then I restored user apps and data through titanium and I have not had a single problem with the vibrate error.
The only thing I haven't tried on my phone is Sprint ID.
I'm thinking there are four possibilities, my flash to di18 may have been bad, the update.zip I used was slightly corrupted or didn't install properly, the SD card had issues now solved by the format, or it's Sprint ID.

sorry maybe "hard reset" isn't used anymore, from the WinMO days.
if this happens to you check and see if you have the whoisit app installed this is what caused it on my epic just uninstall it
The 1-3 vibrate thing means an app has force-closed. If you are getting a lot of this after flashing a new rom and restoring apps and data, it probably means that the data is corrupted or not in a format that the new rom can deal with.
The only time this has happened to me is after I have gone from a rom based on eclair to a rom based on froyo, and even then it was the phone data, not the app data.

This mean that there is some corrupt data and that you need to do a system restore from a previous backup or reflash to fix this problem. Usually this happens when your phone turns off randomly or when you forget to wipe the partition or dalvik cache when flashing a Rom or a system file such as stock browser or keyboard through clockwork mode.
I installed decks ICS Alpha 5 yesterday after a full wipe and all the usual stuff like gapps install. I see everyone else talking about the camera issues..it works kinda...lol but I cant use the google search bar on the home screen, if i even tuch it my phone does a hot-reboot, anyone else expirienceing this, also major keybord issues, it just flashes up for a second and goes away everytime i try to use it, are there any fixes for this stuf??
I've been using it since it came out and haven't had that issue.

What kernel are you using? I have had this problem with darkside and synergy kernels, but faux's 10m kernel willows multiple disconnects/reconnects with my Motorola s305 bt headphones a without an issue.
I am having the same issues. I did it with multiple kernels. I flashed back to stock and still had it. I even sent my phone in under warranty and now the new one is doing it.

After the ICS update on my non-rooted phone, the phone seems to be freezing
up and becoming unresponsive. After a while it looks like the radio "resets", all
the icons disappear in the top bar (signal, wifi, data) and it shows no service.
Then slowly one by one they all come back and I can use the phone again.
Sometimes I receive the "System is not responding" dialog box, but not always.
There is not one particular program it is doing this in, it can be something as
simple as pulling down the notification bar that will cause the freeze.
Any suggestions are appreciated, I couldn't find anyone else with the same issue.
Thanks.
Try:
Turn off phone
Take out SIM
Put SIM back
Turn on
I've had my phone act weird with respect to signal, wifi and data when this was the issue. Worth a shot, at the very least.

Thank you for the response.
Tried this and had the system is unresponsive issue right on reboot. If I do a
factory reset, does it reset to the current firmware or what was originally on the
phone (probably a really stupid question). I wonder if some other program isn't
ICS compatible and is doing something in the background. Doesn't look like
anyone else is having this same issue.

If you do a factory reset and it was the standard Kies legit update from Tmo, it won't downgrade your phone - will just re-install a fresh copy of your ICS. Did you do a restore of apps from your last version (gb?) with data? That could cause problems I would think..

Yes I did the legit update on Kies, standard stock phone un-rooted.
Do I need to backup pictures before the reset, its been a while since

At this point, I think its worth a try to wipe it clean and clear out all the

Are you letting it sit for like 10 minutes during first boot after factory reset then reboot again before setting up. Its likely that some scripts are running from the initial installation and you need to let it rot until its done..
I did exactly that, thanks for the advice. Hoping that may fix the problem. I wiped the cache and factory reset, then let the phone sit for a good while before going through the play store and re-installing everything.
This issue just resurfaced again. The last 2 days I am getting the freezing, radio reboot and android process not responding.
No one else having this issue?
I think I'm in the same boat. I was stock GB, and just did the mini OTA update (which was great). A few days later ICS became available via Kies from T-Mobile, and I "upgraded".
Since the upgrade my phone is laggy, screen is significantly less responsive and also my battery life is less than before.
I have NOT done a factory reset of my phone yes (plan on doing that today), but even with that I have read that performance does not improve.
Ideally, I would love to return back to the stock tmobile gb firmware. However, even after literally 2 hours of reading I can't find the "how-to" and files I need.
I would appreciate any assistance.
t989 chip lags
ive notice this happen on my tmobile galaxy s2. i think it has to do with the Qualcomm chip on tmobiles stock roms.
When i had sprint i bought my girlfriend a galaxy s2 on the sprint network which runs the samsung exynos chip. She never complained about any lag or freezing whatsoever. I then left sprint because of their garbage network and joined tmobile.
bought 2 galaxy s2s and i noticed the lag almost immediately. The phone has random lag spikes as well as freezing and force closes. It had it on stock gingerbread and it has it on stock ICS too.
My girlfriend complains about freezing all the time so i decided to root her phone too. Right now im testing DarkSides v7 rom and if its pretty good in performance i will flash her phone with it too. So far it has been pretty snappy and everything works.

OK, I have Odin'ed twice, and wiped the poor little phone so many times I'm gonna need to use Desitin. It does not matter, I have pretty much tried every 4.2.2 ROM out there, and although I have had one or two that I could initially get bluetooth to turn on, even those would fail to do so after a few hours. I've tried rebooting with it on, rebooting with it off, does not matter. The last few AOKP and CM nightlies as well as Jedi, it will not even turn on. I have seen a few folks state somewhat similar issues, but I am getting that it is not pervasive for the community. Does anybody have any ideas as to a fix, or, even any ideas as to what causes it, so maybe I can play around with whatever and try myself? Or, best case-scenario, did anybody have the issue on ROM ABC and discover that by switching to ROM XYZ it was fixed? I'm not updating my sig because it changes multiple times a day anyway, but I am back to CWM 6.0.2.7 from TWRP if that variable matters at all. Fingers crossed, so far so good. I reinstalled Rootbox which is awesome. I changed from CWM back to TWRP and also installed Cerux 1.42 which in the thread made mention of the bluetooth issue being fixed, and being kernel, not ROM related. I am using crossbreeder which makes things crazy fast. I saw the "nos script" in some thread but couldn't find it with a Google search. Do you have a link for it and what exactly does it do?
Edit: Crap. it went away. Oh well, back to 4.1. Hellybean it is. I just don't get it. BT works fine on any 4.1 or ICS ROM. Only thing with 4.1 is music skips in my music player but I can live with that, I can't live with no BT. Thanks for your help. Maybe when source drops it will be all good.

Well, what seems to happen is it is fine for 15-30 minutes after I've freshly installed the ROM, then it just turns off. When I then try to turn it back on it hangs at "turning on" and then goes back to off. At that point when I click "turn on", it doesn't even move. I'm a gonna try the fix, nothing to lose at this point...
Nuts. It fast moves to on and immediately goes back to off. White flag, thanks to all.
Apply the fix and delete all you devices then try turning it on and off with nothing on it...if it works then add devices one by one...if you have devices married to it the patch might not work also I think my computer dongle was the culprit
