In the following settings, is the battery use equal?
CPU set to 200 MHz @ 900mV
CPU set to 100 MHz @ 900mV
Does this then mean that the first option below uses less battery?
CPU set to 200 MHz @ 900mV
CPU set to 100 MHz @ 950mV
Or is there some other aspect of the 200MHz vs 100 MHz that affects the battery outside of the mV?
hey guys i am having a problem with my cpu control i set the min frequency at 51 mhz and max to 1500mhz but after a while it changes by it self and goes all the way to 1500 min and 1500 max! so i tryed it with the interactive option but still it goes back to 1500mhz soo i flashed the franco kernel maybe it will change but unfortunately it still goes to 1500 mhz and eats up my battery so plzz help what am i doing wrong?
Here are few Settings for suitable Battery Life
These settings can be implemented using No-Frills CPU Control or any alternative!
LIGHT USAGE:
GOVERNOR: SMARTASSV2
MIN: 156Mhz
MAX: 624Mhz
I/O: NOOP
GET AS MUCH AS 3-4 DAYS OF BATTERY LIFE in a SINGLE CHARGE
AVERAGE USAGE:
GOV: ONDEMAND
MIN: 156Mhz
MAX: 832Mhz
I/O: NOOP
GET AS MUCH AS 1-2 DAYS of BATTERY LIFE in a SINGLE CHARGE
HIGH USAGE:
GOV: LIONHEART
MIN: 312Mhz
MAX: 832Mhz
I/O: NOOP
GET AS MUCH AS 1/2-1 DAY of BATTERY LIFE in a SINGLE CHARGE
VERY HIGH USAGE:
GOV: LIONHEART
MIN: 624Mhz
MAX: 832Mhz
I/O: NOOP
GET AS MUCH AS 3-5 HOURS of BATTERY LIFE in a SINGLE CHARGE
A THANKS is appreciated
Re: [FREQUENCY] Saving Battery Life of your SGY!
i recommand Lineheart

Performance governor will never let your frequency go lower than 832mhz so setting a min frequency is useless
Powersave will never let it go higher than 156mhz so read above
Bcm21553 will only use 312mhz and 832mhz...
Sio is slightly better than Noop

Updating
Using stock rom with hell_fusion kernel. Freq at 624-312mhz, ondemand+sio gives me at least a day and a half.
Wifi turned on, playing games once in a while, music for a bit too often, and a lot of facebook.

What is the recommended kernel? Is hell's fusion #50 good for all needs, or kuro's kernel better?
Also is Merruk Kernel v2.0 (1.248GHz) stable to be used for everyday apps?

I used Merruk but it occurs a fex probs sometimes... For some needs you need to have stock recovery not cwm soSaviekernel or Kuro is highly recommended

Yeah!
Bcm + cfq is good.
Bcm + noop is slightly smoother, but eats battery.
Well, for battery, you can't go wrong with powersave and sio.
As for me, though, i use scary+deadline. Seemed pretty balanced for me.

Interesting. Thanks.
I have searched around and couldn't find anyone talking about undervolt the voltage of CPU for our CPU, anyone can post their values as a guideline.
=================================================================
So far I have undervolt 384Mhz to 775 from 825, and tested stability for whole night burn test, it's stable and it gives me more than an hour standby time now.
Looking forward to test other frequency including 1.7GHz, so even overclocking the phone doesn't drain extra battery
P.S. my phone stands by at 384MHz according to CPU Spy Plus

No body care about undervolting on Xperia S?
its at most by -100
Trust me, it helps with heating issued just that tiny bit

All default voltages can be reduced by 100mv
Any lower and your cpu will reboot because of a saftey feature
Too high, and your cpu will burn out (also reboot)
Undervolting - giving a cpu les voltage per clock
Can save battery, can keep cpu cooler, can save cpu life
Over volting - does the oposite
Dont neccicarily know if this helped but i explained in more detail?

Having an issue with charging for the past few days. Phone dies quickly. Phone charges really slow and in CPU Spy, it's either at 1600 mhz or deep sleep. Nothing in between. I checked the clock speed and it's 200 mhz - 1600 mhz. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

do you have the governor set to performance? do you have a profile that comands the cpu to work at 1600 mhz?
