CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.
What are Nightly builds? Auto compiled builds of the latest CyanogenMod source from github. This version change each night and aren't officialy supported. If you find bugs/issues you can/must discuss here (do not submit nightlies bug on CyanogenMod issue tracker).

Please read before posting or reporting bugs!
Auto Brightness doesn't work.
Reporting Bugs
Before reporting a bug, please make sure you are running as stock as possible. This means no custom kernel, no custom framework modification, etc. If you are using any of the above modifications, please flash the rom again to get rid of the modifications before reporting.
Please read the thread for known issues before reporting.
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. The following is a useful format to follow.

How To Partition Your SD Card For Free Internal Storage (CWM)
Via ClockWorkMod Recovery :
Things required:
Clock Work Mod Recovery (Except latest HumberOS Kernel)
Working SD card inserted into phone.
Link2Sd (Link)
Note : Backup your Sdcard before do this steps because it will format your all data on Sdcard
After getting the above things ready, proceed with the given steps :
Boot into CWM
Scroll down to advance options (second last option).
In Advance Menu go to Partition SD Card (If you use HumberOS kernel, there is no option for Partition SD CARD)
Select EXT and swap partition size according to your needs and overall size of the SD card.
Wait till the process completes. You will get a success message if things are done.
After rebooting, download Link2sd on Play Store (Link above)
open link2sd
then select the file system of your sdcard's second partition (ext3)
reboot your tablet
then open link2sd again menu->storage info
Via PC
Simplest way is to use "MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition" from http://www.partitionwizard.com/download.html
This tool is compatible with Windows 2000/XP/Vista & Windows 7
requirements: USB SD Card reader.
pull SD card from phone, insert into USB SD Card reader, you can do it with your usb cable mount Sd-crad. Windows should report new drive and content of the drive should be visible.
Click to collapse
Step 1: delete old partitions on SD card
Note:
this partition manager QUEUES the operations. So nothing is deleted and changed UNTIL you click "APPLY" and then confirm by clicking "OK".
WARNING!
Make sure you are deleting partition on SD card! (not your hard drive for example)
This step deletes everything on SD card, so backup files first!
Dont be afraid, just read everything and think twice before selecting correct drive.
Do you see three gray icons on the bottom? Under each of them the capacity of each drive is listed, and SD CARD has slightly different icon.
Hard drives on the screenshot have 465.8GB and 74.5GB, and on the bottom, the SD card, with 3.8GB capacity.

Select "File System:" FAT32 when you have 4GB or greater card.

Step 4: finish
finally, click "apply" button on top left corner.

Let me start to say that this is not the AOKP thread, nor the Overcome thread. This is a thread for the CyanogenMod 10 ROM. So I cannot tell you anything about AOKP. Overcome is the easiest and safest way to get your Tab ready for AOKP or other ROM's like CM10 or CM9.
What I do know is you have to follow the Overcome installation procedure. The links on teamovercome.net are dead indeed, but in the first post of the Overcome thread you will find mirror-links that work.
So first install Overcome then AOKP.
If you have questions about these procedures please put them in the right forum. So questions about Overcome in the Overcome thread and AOKP questions in AOKP thread.
The meaning of all those strange words you can find in XDA's wiki.
Hope this helps.

Get me *.log from sdcard.

Alternatively, you could just copy modem.bin to /system/vendor

Dualboot for Nexus 10

thanks to @add12364 for testing
This is a Mod which allows you to switching between any Rom and any AOSP based rom.
Code:
System.out.println("
Your warranty is now void
I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards
thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you
Submitting bug reports on nightly builds is the leading
cause of male impotence.
");
Before you install this, please read the whole post!
Your first rom can be any Rom and second rom is any AOSP rom.
The second rom is installed on the /cache partition.
/data and /cache folder are in /data/media/.secondrom
This Mod switchs between two kernels.
The App will grab the kernel from your first rom, AOSP will use my ramdisk modified Kernel.
The RomSwitcher App will download the all needed files for you.
They will be in /sdcard/romswitcher
Sources:
https://github.com/RomSwitchers/RomSwitcher-manta
https://github.com/RomSwitchers/RomSwitcher
How to install?
You can use every AOSP rom as second rom
Download any AOSP rom. Extract it and open META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script
Look for this line (some roms have two of them)
Code:
mount("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/platform/dw_mmc.0/by-name/system", "/system");
and replace it with
Code:
mount("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/platform/dw_mmc.0/by-name/[B]cache[/B]", "/system");
then delete these lines
Code:
format("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/platform/dw_mmc.0/by-name/system", "0", "/system");
and
Code:
package_extract_file("boot.img", "/dev/block/platform/dw_mmc.0/by-name/boot");
You will need Gapps
Get it here http://goo.im/gapps/
Extract it and open updater-script
and replace
Code:
run_program("/sbin/busybox", "mount", "/system");
with
Code:
mount("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/platform/dw_mmc.0/by-name/cache", "/system");
Zip your rom and gapps.
If you have troubles with editing the updater script, you can use my modified Paranoid Android Rom
http://d-h.st/qjO
Flash both in recovery. (first rom then gapps)
DO NOT WIPE ANYTHING
Reboot your phone and if you did all correct. You should boot into your current rom.
Now download and install my app
https://github.com/RomSwitchers/Downloadlinks/raw/master/RomSwitcher/RomSwitcher.apk
Open RomSwitcher and follow the instructions. (You need Root and BusyBox to use the App)

If you ever need N10 testing just send me a message! This MOD is my favorite.
When you go through the process of modifying the updater scripts and then flashing the modified zips, will that become the 2nd rom and NOT overwrite the rom you already have installed? Just making sure I known what's happening before I do this. Thanks!

Please, cut the guy a break, the instructions in the OP aren't exactly what I'd call 'clear.' The instructions clearly state that the "default kernel for the first ROM is CM kernel." Sure sounds to me like this erases/alters the current ROM, or else how would the CM kernel get on my device, currently running Trinity? It also says that we can use any kernel we want, well the kernel I want is already installed, again, does it alter the current ROM or not? If not, where does the CM kernel come into play on the random AOSP ROM that I elect to flash as the second ROM? Then in the second post there is no indication of which AOSP ROM is being changed. If I just follow those instructions I wipe both ROMs, unless we redo the script edit before the flash, which is not stated there. Finally, how would I change just the first ROM? I can't wipe cache, as that would blow away the second ROM. Do I have to reinstall both?
As for Ubuntu, I was even unaware that UT lacks the Dalvik VM. A simple explanation would have sufficed.
I immensely respect both you and what you are doing, for both the device and the community as a whole, and I am not trying to be hostile or to be an ass, so please don't take offense to this. Just please don't go jumping down people throats, especially over a procedure that is deeply removed from the realm of everyday protocol, even for people on XDA.

To the OP below is the reason I was CURIOUS about the possibility of Ubuntu touch working with this method. I never demanded that it work with android apps. I know that it would not.
Canonical on Ubuntu wiki said:
How is Ubuntu Touch connected to Android?
The independent open source project CyanogenMod which is based on Android and tries to improve and extend the existing Android Basis has been taken by the developers as a kind of underlaying basis for Ubuntu Touch. The kernel and a few low level drivers for network, video, audio and some other hardware features are taken, all the higher level parts have been taken out. On top of this the whole Ubuntu is started in an chroot environment.

Ubuntu Touch is primarily designed to support web apps, and native apps programmed in qml and javascript or C++. As it is a real linux, of course all non graphical applications run equally as on any other linux system. You can ssh to Ubuntu Touch and run any console based application.
X11 is not supported (so far) so all GUI standard applications will not run.

Ubuntu touch works with that method on my gnexus. But have to modify the whole ramdisk to make switching working and I am really too lazy to do it for a device which I don't own. Be happy that I am supporting this device. I really didn't want to support the nexus 10.

try this. in the name of recovery.img there is a gap between "recovery" and "img". this is the reason for the error you get
Can anyone confirm if this is working or not, as I don't want to brick my device.

The recovery is not only giving a blue screen, it doesn't even wipe or flash anything. It does absolutely nothing! On the 4pda forum there is a surmise that phones made in China work well with the new recovery, whether the phones manufactured in Vietnam get stuck on the blue screen.
Please, guys, confirm this! TIA
@yajnab when did u shift from S5670 to S5660!

remove your battery and you'll see a sticker with "made in xxx by samsung" written on it. Some devices have only "made by samsung", which is still not clear to which country it belongs.
so far every one, who have a Vietnam-made phone, confirm to have a blue screen in recovery. This makes it very hard to flash the cm11. I've managed to do it via sideload function
Every other phone's owners (made in China or Korea) are happy to run a bugless cwm.
I installed recovery
I installed the ROM Jenkins
But it is stuck on the logo

PREAMBLE
Here is my CM11 port for the Lenovo A3000-H, 100% unofficial. Contributions are welcome!
To be able to even flash it, you'll need to use my CWM Recovery.
NOTE: I have built and tested this on my Lenovo A3000-H (16 GB version with 3G). Before flashing, please make sure to be on Stock 4.2. Open up a terminal or an ADB shell and type the following:
Code:
getprop ro.product.board
.
Should you get a3000_prc_3gfull, you are good to go. Otherwise, you need to flash the right Stock ROM. The members @kupyxa4444 and @luckasfb have created such a Stock-based ROM, so if you are unable to find one - try to contact one of these two.
CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.4 (KitKat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Code:
#include
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/

NOTE
Should you ever face any issues (in the recovery or the ROM), provide logs (use Google to find out how to gather those). Additionally, I need to know what ROM you're on, hence you have to mention the build number.

Pre-equisites to flash:
1. Correct Firmware
1.1 First verify your build version by installing Terminal Emulator from Play Store and then type the following:
getprop ro.product.board
if the output is a3000_prc_3gfull, proceed to number 2.
1.2 if the output is not a3000_prc_3gfull, you will have to first flash another firmware which can be downloaded at:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5yhZ9sXUH_GMWhCQllhbkZRbUk/edit
Firmware flashing instructions can be referred here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-a3000/development/rom-lenovo-ideatab-a3000-h-call-t2441135
2. My version of CWM installed
2.1 Now you should install the CWM. You need a rooted device to proceed. Assuming you followed 1.1 and 1.2, your device is already rooted.
You will need:
2.1.1 Install mobileuncle MTK Tools from PlayStore or download apk from thread below: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2697236
2.1.2 My CWM, download the zip file and extract the recovery.img. Put the recovery.img in your microSD card.
http://olivier.hubdroid.com/a3/cwm/cwm_a3-20141220.zip
2.2 Open up mobileuncle MTK Tools, and select install recovery. It will detect the recovery.img in your microSD card (top in the list).
Tap on it to install. DO NOT tap on others in the list. Just click OK to install. If you have already downloaded my rom with it placed in your microSD card,
you may proceed to boot into recovery, or you can press cancel and shut down your device.
The pre-equisites is now completed!
Steps to flash:
1. Download my rom from http://olivier.hubdroid.com/a3/cm-11.0/ - select a preferred release. latest release recommended.
2. Download gapps from http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/gapps-consolidated-gapps-thread-t3064693 - select gapps for kit kat 4.4.4
2. Boot up recovery: hold power button and volume up button, as it booted up release power button. Use volume up button to browse to "recovery mode" and press volume down to proceed recovery mode.
3. Do the following:
2.1 Factory reset
2.2 Clear cache
2.3 Clear dalvik cache (Advanced > clear dalvik cache)
2.4 install from zip, select the rom and install
2.5 install gapps.
2.6 when done, reboot to system
The installation is now completed!

Yes, the CM11 kernel is based off my HodorKernel. Apparently the kernel isn't the problem here - you could flash it on any fused Stock ROM and everything would work.
To those who wanted ETAs: At the moment, I'm a bit busy with exams and other devices. Bugfixing is progressing rather slowly, not only due to time constraints but also because I'm working on this alone and it's not easy to work on mtk devices.
keep up the good work.
you can make it buddy.

Your warranty is now void.
I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
SlimRoms is a custom android operating system. The main goal is to offer users a slimmed down but still feature rich alternative to other android operating systems.
The entire SlimTeam work together to bring you this tailor-made beauty straight from Android Open Source Project (AOSP) source code.
All of the sources can be publicly viewed through GitHub and you can stop by the public Gerrit to submit patches of any type.
SlimLP is currently in alpha / beta stage, some custom features are already in place, but much much more is planned for the future.

Yeah install is fine has the texts bug but also has a small lag in settings and has a issue mounting external sdcard.... Or at least it did when I was running it..... Granted it did not very over in recovery or even restoring.... But while in the rom I couldn't access my external sdcard.... Now if you flash and don't have this problem please do inform me... Also if you happen to figure out the issue before I do please inform me as well... Lol... Much thanks... Other than that worked great looked great and was everything slim has always been... But another thing to take into consideration is it's an alpha so expect to find bugs
Lol... Just when I though I was about to go to bed....... Thanks again spleef!

Informations
Hey guys, today i will show DualBootPatcher one of the best apps for multi ROMs (i think this is the unique app for this ).
I have managed to support L3II, L5, L7 and L7II (Officially)
I am not the creator, just the supporter

Disclaimer
Your warranty is now void.
I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you. Hard. A lot.
Requirements
1. A Custom Recovery (TWRP or PhilZ Touch or the old CWM )
2. A KitKat ROM (Real KitKat ROM, not build.prop edited, a fake KK ROM)
3. The Dualboot Patcher - http://goo.gl/0bcbbN (Download the APK in Downloads Section)(For L3II, L5, L7 and L7II)
4. A KitKat ROM (To install )
Installation
1. Make a nandroid backup in case anything fails. (optional if you like playing with fire)
2. Install the DualbootPatcher
3. In the Patcher, go to the ROMs section, and a popup will ask you to set the kernel. Do it.
4. After this you need to go in menu (the tree dots) of Primary ROM and search for Update Ramdisk. Press it.
5. In the patcher, go to the Patch ZIP file section, open your ROM zip file
6. After this select in what partition you want to install:
Primary ROM Upgrade - To update ROM without affect the Secundary ROM (and others) when you have one installed.
Secundary - To install in /system.
MultiROM (1-3) - To install in /cache, you have 3 slots in this.
Data Slot - To install in /data (ID is IDentification of ROM)
Extsd slot - To install in your sdcard
7. You not need to change the Device
8. Do the same for GAPPS (optional)
9. Press in confirmation button and wait.
You have two options here:
9. Go to ROMs section and press in button of a device with arrow inside, select the patched zip files (ROM and GAPPS), and by last press in confirmation button, just wait..
10. After finish, close the app (see Know Issues), open and go again to ROMs section and you will see the default ROM to boot (the last installed). Reboot your phone.
11. It will now boot onto your ROM installed, once you've completed your first boot setup, install the DualBootPatcher.
or
9. Restart in recovery, flash the patched zip files (ROM and GAPPS). Restart your phone.
10. It will now boot onto your ROM installed, once you've completed your first boot setup, install the DualBootPatcher.
You are now able to select which rom to boot from the ROMs section. Once you've selected which rom is the default, restart your phone. Voilà!
Know Issues
- The ROMs section sometimes bug and get a infinite refresh, close the app and open app again.
- Never use this in JellyBean 4.1 or "You are gonna have a bad time"
- Contact me

Thanks for the mention
@WinterR test the unofficial snapshot, please
What about different kernel and not the one from rom's zip? Better to add them to zip before patch or can be installed later by patching kernel's zip?
Or there can be only one kernel for all roms?

For kernels you need to flash two times, first flash with patched zip (in app) and second flash you need to set the ROM and flash again (via recovery).
The first will update modules (/system) and second is to update the boot.img
Note: Ever you change kernel you need to go to app and set the kernel to save you new boot.img
Now DualBootPatcher supports the L7 and L7II!!!
I got some time and would like to check it out.
I can only use 4.4.4 roms (on L7 there are no newer ones)?
How it works with sdext? Is it used as both /system and /data? Or just /system? But than where is nonprimary rom /data located?
PS. What file systems are supported by app? Or maybe it depends on kernel?
@ch3mn3y you can use all ROMs up to 4.2, because SELinux and other core things like storage/emulated/0.
The SdExt only store system.img, and only system (for now, the patch is under progress all time).
You have option to put 1 in /system (dual), 3 in /cache (multi-slot), and unlimited in /data and /sdext (External Card).
Support F2FS and Ext4, auto-detect, just need support in your ROM and all will works (not tested because no F2FS support for mine device )
If I can ask: where /data goes? I mean /data/app, /data/data, etc., not /data/media)?
So I tried to mod cyanhacker 2.0 to work from extsd, but app FC's at 1.4%. Tried last 8.0.0. Anyone know which one works with our device or this rom (don't know which one cause FC)?

The rom is stored in any partition in a folder called "multiboot", try other rom or old app versions.

I used this: DualBootPatcher-8.0.0.r2115.g279e1b2-win32.zip (last build from 09.01.2016). It patched the file (older ones couldn't open the archive). Now i will try to flash it on my device and than i will probably use app from the same build (DualBootPatcherAndroid-8.0.0.r2102.gd35e5db-snapshot.apk).
Naah, i use newest app. Zips can be edited on Windows machine.
Small request: any chance to move /cache and /data to the same folder as /system? Or at least /data (as /cache is more temporary) as it can become big for one rom and we have less than 3GB of space on this partition...

Check in external card the multiboot folder.
This app have a lot of bugs, use the zip in DualBootPatcher site, for cat the logs, and we can see if something goes wrong and report a bug.

Its ok. After 2 reboots of primary rom, sdext one is back and after next two reboots between roms its still there. Dont know what was wrong, but right now i suppose there wont be any useful info in logs.
Downloaded the logs zip, so next time will use it.
It works really fast from class 4 sdcard. However I thought that extsd is 2 partition and created one
