In daily life, most of us often use some cases or protectors to protect our cell phone, or some of us fix the broken phone according to the take apart vedios on youtube or other scientific webs. I want to make a poll that where you guys buy your cell phone parts such as case, protector, LCD, digitizer......Get them in Repair Shop?Amazon & Ebay? Normal Website? Or Never Buy? Please tell me the reason for your choice.
I mostly buy off of eBay.

Well if I REALLY had to, I'd probably check out amazon. Seems they have good deals, but most of the stuff is probably gonna ship from overseas.
Most likely from eBay and Amazon. But I can't think of anything else to replace other than the battery and backcover for my HTC sensation.
For me i'll try to find it in repair shop first since we can inspect and see the part/product.. online shopping is my second choice though

Yh, shoe leather costs (searching around) is basically what many of us do. I will tend to look on amazon or at my local hardware electronics store. The XDA marketplace is also a great area to search for spare parts. Once you have banked a year membership.
Oh and, only one person voted in the poll and it is already closed? Seems a bit dodgy. Re-open it or PM a mod to do it.

Mobile phone replacement parts can be found everywhere in market, like real store, online shop, ebay, etc, but i prefer to online shop. The price in real store and ebay is a bit high, because it's B2C marketing, and with less style. So i like to choose B2B online shop with wholesale price, and some website even no MOQ but price is quite low by comparision, like EOEM.If need, u can go to eoem dot cc, really ecomomic.
E-bay and only from sellers with many sells and good feedback !

The best parts usually come straight from the manufacturer. Otherwise you run the risk of some terribly cheap replacement parts.

General question, for those who have lapdocks and decide they want to get rid of it, whats the best way to go with selling it.
On ebay I see them listed, I never see anything really getting sold and nobody really lists them up.
I'm thinking about auctioning it but I am worried about how much I would lose.
Anybody on here have any experience on selling there lapdock?
Thanks

I bought mine on ebay for 90 used some time ago, and most of the listings on ebay get sold for around 100. Depending on the condition, I'd expect to sell it around 70+ maybe, price dropped a good amount lately.
Id actually be interested in buying it from you. what kind of price are you thinking
I'm happy to sell it for any fair price, its barely been used its in great condition but now I'm feeling pretty sad looking at those prices.
I purchased it for a hefty 500, I was being optimistic hoping I could get rid of it for at least 150-200 but I'm more then happy to get rid of it at the 125 mark if your interested.
I'll be sending it from australia but I have the adaptors for the US as well since I brought it from there.
Inbox me if you want to discuss the item further.
This is very depressing but I can live with it
This needs to be posted in the marketplace forum. Not here. Doesn't anyone read the forum rules anymore??
It sells refurbished for 90 dollars after shipping, any more than that and you're ripping someone off.

no, not really.
people sell their items for what they want. a + $35 range wouldn't necessarily constitute a "rip off".
refurbished < used i think, depending on owner, of course.

A lot of the times refurb units are the ones that something breaks on and it's been repaired which should be cheaper than original that has never been opened.
Anyways, I just saw this thread and I also have a ladock that I don't use. I used that lapdock with another Atrix that I have with broken screen and used it as a wi-fi laptop browsing kinda thing. I'd be interested in selling it too if someone is looking for one.
Thank you and good luck to op.
sorry i didn't mention it before, but i'd be more than interested in buying a laptop dock from someone on XDA, i would just want a good deal from risking my money from someone i met on a forum, when i could get a perfectly good refurb unit from a reputable dealer for a cheaper price than offered.
I am going to order a few, anyone dare to try ? it claimed to be 7400mAh is standard battery size. nowhere else except China
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.10.137&id=15285650802&_u=cn3fhpi94c8
It can't have 3 times more capacity with the same size - unless they used some new technology, it's simply impossible. I'm more than positive that this battery is a fraud - maybe it will work, maybe even good - but not 7400mah for sure. Let us know how it turn out though.
stop encouraging them to sell more fake products...

Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
this type of thing is definitely fake - no need to buy to check. For your phone's safety and for your own sake, don't buy this as aftermarket batteries can also explode, search google for more infos.
It's Just the "paper" value.... forget any having a battery with 3 times the power housed in the same shell.

You gotta admit that the ambition here is enough to make even the skeptical a little curious.
I for one don't understand why so many people dismiss it so quickly... especially when their baseless criticisms have even less weight than the product that they are bashing.

please update how long this battery will stand if u buy it...got 5000mAh battery over here but it have twice size than normal battery...
As you're shopping on Taobao you probably don't need to be warned of the various scams that exist on the marketplace - but this one seems especially entertaining.
Although the battery is advertised in several places on the page as being 7400mAh, the seller seems a little conflicted. In the spec sheets he describes it as '电池容量: 4001MAh-5000MAh' (roughly: the battery capacity is between 4001mAh - 5000mAh), while below the initial barrage of happy workers there is this: 实际容量4500毫安. Roughly translated it says 'Actual capacity 4500mAh'. I think that pretty neatly sums this battery up.
On another note, at the bottom of the page he does promise that although he won't honour any service contract through Taobao, if you call him and can prove that the battery is damaged due to no fault of your own (defect), he will try to get a replacement to you within 6 months .
Have to love Taobao, some real gems on there but also a heck of a lot of dross.
Definitely a fake, being a Honkee and shame to be a Chinese

Why not get an extended battery instead, like mugen, instead of taking the risk on this one?
I've heard both sides of the story when it comes to mugen's performance, and so far, based on my usage, it more than doubles the uptime of my gnote.
Just my two cents. Thanks.

I'd have to agree with that. But most of if not all of those same accessories ship from Hong Kong too...everything ordered from the site I posted might cost a few bucks more, but they're shipped from the USA and arrive much faster. To some, that's worth the few extra bucks spent.

I am always willing to pay a little extra to get it from the states. I order stuff because I want it now, not in 3 weeks. I have my eBay app set up to show only US sellers for that reason alone. All those recognized name brands had to start off as unknowns at one point aswell. People these days cant seam to grasp that concept tho. Lots of times thats where NEW ideas come from. The NEW guys.
Well, it had to happen sooner or later. Today I dropped my phone for the first time ever! The only problem is that the phone was my brand new N7100. Anyone know where to get a quality replacement housing? Screen and battery cover are okay. Only chrome was scratched.

RaptorMD:
Ya', cnn.cn carries the housing. It's actually one of the links I included in my previous post. I appreciate you letting me know that they're a straight-forward business though. That was my main worry. However, location is also another big worry for me. Are you aware of any suppliers in the United States or Europe? Communication, shipping times, and reliability are just so much better when you're not dealing with potential scammers in China; and for some reason, it's always China.
I've worked with businesses and eBay sellers in South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, India, Australia, the U.K., Germany, and China, and it's always China. I've had a chinese business try to scam me. I've had a chinese business ship me shawdy replacement parts and claim that they're original. If it's not one thing, it's another. Then on the flipside, all of the best stuff comes from China. I have a supplier in China that gets me all of my replacement iPhone parts for my business, and they're fantastic; so is his customer service! It's just so difficult to determine which sellers are good and which sellers are total crap.
Anyway, I should wrap this up. If I don't, it'll turn into a neverending rant. So, if you say that cnn.cn is a good, reliable seller, I guess I'll go ahead and give them a shot. I appreciate your post, and hope you have a pleasant day. Take care and have a good one!
Thank you,
Ed

Sorry Ed, I am not aware of any other suppliers to recommend. I live here in the US as well and have purchased from them many times all without any issue. Still it can be concerning when ordering something from overseas and waiting and waiting and waiting some more for it to arrive.

So, I'm looking for a new LCD for my recently acquired gnex. Everything on it is working perfect except the lcd has what looks almost like damage from a magnet in the bottom right corner. I've looked around a little bit but can't find any for less than almost 200 usd. That's more than I paid for the phone and I refuse to pay that much for a single part. If it's still too expensive, either by another ruined gnex, where the LCD is intact, or sell yours as damaged and buy a new device.
