Is there any advantage at all of purchasing a AllShare Cast wireless streaming dongle if my tv already has AllShare?
Can a Samsung Galaxy S3 stream video to two AllShare devices at once? (ie a tv with AllShare and a wireless dongle attached to a monitor)

The dongle is meant for non allshare tv... if you already have it on yours its already a compatible device and don't need the dongle. And yes it can share all at same time that's why its called allshare. The commercials showing multiple people looking at the same thing are real
But don't confuse allshare cast and allshare play. Cast makes the tv mimic everything you see on the phones screen. Allshare play is just DLNA file sharing

Thanks for the info! Whats the difference between allshare cast and allshare play (DLNA)? if my tv has allshare cast will it be faster than if I use a wireless dongle?
If I'm streaming to a tv with allshare cast and a wireless dongle to a monitor at the same time, will one be a bit slower than the other, or will the two be synced up?

first of all only the latest latest smart tv's can do allshare cast, second you need to have that app installed and it isn't out yet for most tv's, third, it isn't available to the mid to low end line, only the higher series have it
Hey guys, I just made a video explaining Allshare play/cast with examples in my Samsung TV! LE40C650 2010 model.
With the Allshare mobile app you can remotely access your pc and stream video in your tv. I show that!
My TV doesn't have AllShare Cast.
AllShare play starts @ 1:10

um I don't understand your language so this doesn't help.
How can you be streaming through allshare if you tv does not have allshare??
I'm Greek but my youtube video has English subtitles click the "cc" button. All I said was that it doesn't have "AllShare Cast" which is a special feature.
It has the good old simple "AllShare play" feature!
This site says that any tv with dlna and wifi is ok.

AllShare Cast you can mirror the screen of your phone and play games in your big TV.
(2013 Samsung smart TVs models OR any TV with the AllShare Cast Dongle).

My TV is an older Samsung model and it doesn't have allshare cast, what you see in my video(the gaming part) is not real, it is for demonstration purposes only. (It's a video playing in TV and in the Galaxy S3)
Can any of the Samsung Monitors do this?
Is there a list of Samsung products that have allshare?
i found out with this program on android called : playto samsung tv
one can send video and other social videostuff to the tv.. strange thing when it starts playing on the tv just before its telling me it cant play the file i see the desktop of my s3 on my ES8000 tv :cyclops:,, this sorta seems to be able to stream the desktop to the tv so it seems. i cannot find any allcast stuff though. someone hopefully can make a program to establish this without the dongle as it seems working somewhat allready ?

So that it works like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXfJORIEwfs

Only some models of the new Samsung 2013 smart TVs will have AllShare Cast installed inside, all TVs that are sold now(Samsung+others) only with the dongle! I asked someone in the Samsung booth at IFA 2012 in Berlin and he told me!

Hi,
I have a Galaxy Grand and a Samsung T.V ( f5500). The TV supports screen mirroring but my phone doesn't I.e. if I go to more settings there is no option for Allshare cast. Since having a galaxy phone is there some type of custom ROM or any way which will help me in screen mirroring ? Because my phone has features similar to S3 like best face, smart stay etc. Any sort of hack or application?
Nope Its Not Supported !

AllShare App is presently called has Samsung Link I guess and the feature u r talking abt is not there in this But u can use chromecast device to do this but it needs HIGH SPEED INTERNET Wifi..
The chrome cast uses DLNA (so shouldn't it be fast?)? And secondly, how fast internet connection do I require. On thing I have heard is that Google doesn't officially support screen mirroring, somebody modified it to do so. So would it be reliable?
Thanks anyways for replying me.

Lollipop upgrade: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal.../rom-cm-12-1-galaxy-grand-duos-i9082-t3073108
Just upgrade Galaxy Grand lollipop (cm12). Then you can get Cast Screen option in notification pannel. Turn on your WiFi and TV's WiFi and WiFi direct but don't connect anywhere. after that go to notification pannel touch and hold Cast Screen option , enable Show wireless screen. You can see your TV name at there. Just tap that name. Now you can enjoy Screen mirroring.
hi
i have samsung galaxy grand phone but i change android version glade 5.1. while i m do the screen mirroring with my tv but sound is not come. please give me idea....
Hi. I have a Galaxy Grand Duos with Android version 4.2.2. I don't have a builtin option of Allshare Cast in my mobile. But once, I had a update for Allshare cast. Does this I have allshare cast on my mobile.....? Is it disabled?
Attached below are the links for the scrern shots.
But you see, I don't have allshare cast option under settings menu. ....
I'm currently running rooted stock Jelly Bean 4.1(with plans to flash official Kitkat) and I'm looking into getting a smart TV most likely an LG. The model I'm considering has the following inbuilt 'smart' share options:
Google DIAL
MIRACAST Screen Share
MHL Screen Share
WiDi
The TV has these connectivity options:
WiFi Ready(wifi not built in, needs adapter)
WiFi Direct
Simplink
I know DIAL is a new thing without much traction right now, WiDi is exclusive to Intel devices. I'm particularly keen on wireless screen mirroring to the TV, so my questions are:
-Can I connect seamlessly via Miracast with my Note 8?
-Which currently available android version on our device works best for screen mirroring(4.1, 4.2 or 4.4)?
-Is Allshare any specific app necessary to mirror my screen or is it natively supported by the ROM?
-Will it be beneficial to buy a chromecast? Will it work with the Note 8?
I've scoured through the Note 8 forums and screen mirroring isn't mentioned a whioe lot and often just in passing. There are many posts concerning allshare not working with rooted stock ROMs, but many of these are old posts from last year. There's hardly mention of screen mirroring on Kitkat. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Not sure about LG being 100% compatible... I have a 2009 Samsung with DNLA and AnyLink+
The AnyLink+ connects any Samsung device with automatic turn on and input change. Plus it will turn off the TV if the device should turn off.
From what I see the LG should do what you need as AnyNet+ is really not a requirement.

Thanks, so how is Miracast implemented currently in the stock ROM? I'm on JB 4.1, all I have is allshare. Is Miracast available as a separate feature in 4.2 upwards?

Miracast is the feature called Screen Mirroring on the quick action bar.
As for Samsung Link / All Share, there are some latency issues but with Chinese Miracast/DLNA dongles some provide very fast response to limit latency.
All Share is the same thing as Link... both use Samsung's Miracast... depending on your Samsung updates, you should have an All Share firmware update installed to the tablet. Once you connect with the All Share device the firmware is automatically updated.

I think I have to come clean on something, I'm still on JB 4.1.2, and all I HAD was allshare, I deleted/debloated it after rooting. So I don't have the app anymore but I want to know if the more recent stock ROMs have a Miracast function separate from Allshare that can connect the tablet to a miracast enabled TV.

I cannot believe that nobody wants to use a tab s in combination with a Samsung tv!
I have an 10.5" and a Samsung smart TV, where do i get smart view from.
John.
I seemed to have it in the past, but can also no longer find it. I have both a S 8 and S10, and neither view it as a working title. I searched high and low to find out why, and it seems that it no longer can connect to newer Samsung TV sets. The iOS app works great, so its really annoying that my brand new samsung tablets cannot connect to my brand new samsung TV's, despite the fact that my much older iPhone 6 and iPad Air2 can connect without issue.
I did find a lot of people saying SmartView was also killed off for WatchOn. But, opening watchon on a brand new tablet gets an error about not being able to connect to the server. After doing some more digging, it appears Samsung killed this app/service at the end of 2014. So, if anyone has any ideas as to what I can use as a replacement, then please let me know, as this is the last missing piece for my Smart Home controller
I cannot find an Samsung app, I thought it was called allshare, I did download an app called "play to samsung" and it does work with my tv to an extent.
EDIT: Try This.
http://www.whistleout.co.uk/MobilePhones/Guides/How-to-use-Samsung-AllShare-on-your-TV-and-PC
John.
Allshare allows you to send data from your mobile to your TV (videos, pictures, music). Smart view does the opposite and is sending your TV screen to your mobile.

There are 2 versions:
Smart View 2.0
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.samsung.companion
SmartView 1.0
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sec.smartview.tz
Just give them a try
None of these versions is working on the tab s. That's a shame, cause the only reason to have a Samsung tab was smart view and my TV at home. If I had known that Samsung apps are not working on a Samsung tab, I had choosen definitly a tab from another manufacturer.
I tried also the customized versions you can find using google or here in the forum.
Did you read the link i posted earlier showing you have to activate the feature in the setting menu.
John.
Yes, I saw your link, but I think, you didn't read my postings: allshare allows you to browse content on your phone using your TV.
Smart view allows the other way and is able to send the TV signal to your mobile device.
You can follow the TV program that way in another room than your TV is localized. That is the feature I am searching for. You cannot do that using allshare.

Remote Control works using Smart View 1.0 with T800 but nothing shows up in dual view. It works fully with T520. I do not have the 8.4. (I had to use my smartphone to download a copy of SmartView 1.0, send it to dropbox then download/install in tablet).
Same here, remote control works with several versions, but no dual view...
