There is a company called Anker that makes high quality - high capacity aftermarket batteries for phones, however, I don't think they have one for ours yet.
I'm a little gun shy to buy aftermarket batteries again...
My experience with Anker Batteries:
I had one for my MT4GS and although it did last much longer, I kid you not it does something really weird to the phone. Call me crazy, but I had random people confirm this with their very own eyes. If you've experienced this too, you know exactly what I'm talking about.
1. Like I said, I kid you not, when I put in the higher capacity battery, it made the screens color look more washed out and blurry. Crazy, crazy I know, but it's darn true. Has anyone else experienced this?
2. For whatever reason, the phone would freeze often as well, whereas before with the OEM battery, everything was fine. I had to pull the battery almost 2 times a day to restart it from a freeze.

I was looking for an extended battery for this phone as well but when I searched for the Anker brand as I have it for another device, they all said not compatible with the AT&T or T-Mobile version.

The batteries for the international version are a different size than ours so no, they won't work.
also the other batteries might not come with the NFC
if you don't mind losing the NFC feature on the phone, then you can use the 2000 mAh original batteries from samsung

personally i prefer this over having it at the back cover like on the Nexus S
this means i can chance the phone skin any time i want without worrying about losing NFC
i saw many nice back covers for the Nexus S but couldn't change it as they do not include the NFC antennae on the aftermarket back covers for the Nexus S

No way! you 100% sure about this? I was planning to buy an extra battery but now I'm hesitate to buy. How do I know which battery has NFC and which battery don't? I thought on the galaxy S2 they integrated onto the phone.
just wait for a new version of the 2000 mAh with NFC
the last one i saw on the samsung website did not have NFC build in

Tmobile Galaxy S2 has the same battery as what...?
I'm looking to get a spare battery and external charger for my S2. Looking for anker or chichitec, what other device has the same compatibility as ours. Which ones will fit?
You may have a hard time finding cheap batteries for this phone because the NFC antenna is built into the battery. If you do find one, there's a chance your NFC will suffer because of it. If you don't use NFC, that may not be a problem. I on the other hand, use it daily.
The Samsung Infuse has the same battery.

There are some cheap ones over at thE BAY around $10 for 2 battery plus wall charger OEM are around $30.

Extra set of quality batteries?
Has anybody here bought a quality battery from ebay? there are batteries ranging from 10 dollars to 40 dollars and I'm just wondering if any of them are good? i don't want such an expensive extra battery but i also don't want a cheap battery that will mess up my phone.. speaking of which, can a bad battery mess up a phone's internal system? Thanks for the responses.
if possible, provide a link to the ebay listing or just tell me what i should specifically search for.

thanks allgamer for the response. the thing is i can't afford the $40. should i just wait till a quality replacement battery comes to market? i used to have an htc pro and i bought cheap batteries on ebay for it that came in handy and worked well but my phone eventually died out (screen does not turn on all the time but it might be a wiring problem and not a battery problem). i was hoping there was a similar economically viable option for the galaxy s 2.

i don't really need NFC with the extra set of batteries. NFC's potential hasn't been fully realized yet and i don't have much use of it as of now.
one question though.. if i buy those cheap batteries on ebay, will it destroy my phone because of incompatibility issues?

S3 does occasionally have some overheating problems so combine that with a cheap power cell that might have problems handling the current drain the cheap battery might swell up and damage the phone, I mean for a £500 phone I'd make sure to get a decent battery and pay a bit more.

I don't know about this battery but i can certainly vouch for 7 day shop ive been using them for years and have nothing but praise for them, anything ive ever ordered has arrived within a few days and has been as described.
I know this may be a little off topic but is the i9300 battery the same battery used as the SGH-I747M? So if I buy a battery that has i9300 on the back, can it be used on a SGH-I747M model Galaxy S3?

Was reading some stuff and it looks like the galaxy s2 battery fits in the galaxy nexus. At least I was reading it regarding the sprint version.

I don't think it fits.
I have bought the galaxy s2 battery and it works great, but most important thing to note is that only the tmobile and att s2 batteries will work in ONLY the VERIZON version of the gnex (albeit without nfc since that chip is part of the battery).
the epic 4g touch (sprint sgs2) battery will NOT work in any gnex
the att/tmobile sgs2 battery will ONLY work in a VERIZON gnex (no nfc of course)
afaik the only battery for the gsm gnex is the stock one, no others.

Back when I got the phone I was able to snag the samsung 2100mah w/ verizon backplate directly from verizon for 25 bucks. I then bought the anker 2200mah battery from amazon a few months later (was having issues with my phone charging and didnt know if my batteries were bad or the phone, turns out it was the phone and i got it replaced). In terms of battery life the samsung 2100 is the best, then the Anker brand one, then the oem 1850.
While the Anker is rated higher it doesnt seem to last as long as the 2100 which I expected since it's kind of a no name off brand and probably not the best quality cells. It still gets the job done and certainly fits no problem under the stock backplate, so if you're looking to keep the original backplate on i'd go with the anker 2200 plus their wall charger which i also have. It's really nice having a battery ready to go to swap out.
On amazon they have a bundle where you get the Anker wall charger and 2 2200mah batteries for 22 bucks. Definitely a great value and is (probably) cheaper than getting the samsung 2100.

and don't forget the Anker batteries are not NFC ready, so if you use google wallet or other NFC apps (I certainly don't), you may want to stick with the official samsung one.
I don't use NFC. I bought a sprint sg2 batt that's 2380 math from eBay. Its a sporting persistence for 16 bucks. Couldn't find reviews on the name but for 16 I'll try it out. Hopefully it will give me a bit more juice plus it will fit under the cover.

Hi! lorddavid . I also habe been using a Samsung SII 4G battery. It a little fat, but it close the cover. (in my opinion, dont use this battery because broke the cover).
I don't know abut galaxy s i9000. I would have to buy a long duration battery I wild try something like this:

When my battery was dying I tried my brother's battery from his galaxy S i9000. It was just 1500mAh (instead of the original 1650), but I can confirm it fits in the glide and works as well.

Galaxy S batteries are 1500ma where the glide's stock battery is 1750ma. Both work fine but of course 1500 is slightly less then 1750 so be advised you may be getting slightly less battery life from it.

I bought one of the 2430mAh gold batteries from eBay for $5.60 and I think they're definitely worth the money. Actually just bought another one as a backup for $5.
About the performance: I left it at home for the day, so with very little use (cpu time: ~75% deep sleep, <10% at highest speed) I get more than 26 hours out of it, about 30-50% more than my previous 1800mAh battery. I imagine if you use a Juice Defender like program to turn off your data connection most of the time you might get a result close to this with normal use.

My glide's stock battery is 1650 mA. If I had to use a non glide battery, i will use a SII 4G battery, is a pretty fat, but it fit. It is 1800mA.

I got the two 1960mAh (says "Sporting Persistence" on the label) and an external battery charger for about $20 on ebay more than 6 months ago. Batteries are exactly the same size as the original. Best $20 I spent for the phone single charge last all day during work, not heavy use, making/receiving calls, texts, checking emails, quick Google search.

Well, i got myself a epic 4g replacement. It does fits perfectly but the battery itself is pretty bad. Battery Monitor widget is approximating 400-600Mah as opposite to 1720Mah of original. But than again for 3$ what can you expect?
Stii awaiting feed-back for some of those gold batteries. So far i heard mixed opinions: wither they're quite good either crap.

I got a Sporting Persistence 1960 MaH battery but it's thicker than the stock battery and the cover does not fit with it.
UPDATE - I contacted them and they sent a free replacement that's perfectly sized and works well!

I get that, totally, and I have been looking at batteries, not their prices, if u know what I mean.
Jut wondering if anyone has had any dealings with these batteries.
Also, I know there is a accessories sections, but this was a question, so I asked it in the Q&A section.
I have only ever used Anchor battery and found them faultless .

I looked on their site and only found a 2200mAh battery, the bigger ones are double sized with the retrofit back plate.
Stock battery is only 2100mAh, so the Anker one isn't that much better =/
If the battery fits inside the standard back plate then it is the same capacity (or even less) as the standard battery, it's physically impossible for it to be any greater. Any advert saying a higher capacity for the same size is lying, so avoid.
Main point about the Anker is having two batteries, so you charge outside the phone and always have a fully charged spare to hand.

I'm not going to question ur knowledge about this, but how can u have different mAh "AA" batteries, that are all the same size in that case??
I don't want to have to carry around a second battery with me all the time, this is why I was looking at different bigger capacity batteries =/
You can buy AA batteries in many different forms, alkaline, NiCad, Li-ion etc. Each has a different power density, with Li-ion being the highest. Standard S3 batteries are already the highest density so can't be bettered, if it were that easy then Samsung would have already done it.
The only way to get more capacity is to increase the physical dimensions, don't take my word for it try Wikipedia.

S4's battery isn't much bigger, but capacity is much higher.
Personally I carry two slim zerolemons charged at 40% with me all the time.
me and wife have zerolemon 2300 in our gs3's, fit under original back door and they come with 180day warranty. only downside is no NFC. But to me its the Best 20 buck investment ive made as far as accessories lol.

I've found the zerolemon 2300mAh batteries on eBay, HERE and I have also done some web searches about them, they look pretty good and I haven't found any bad reviews. 200mAh bigger than stock, and tested to be that capacity too, so must be true. I'm thinking of going for these, will just have to get a US to UK plug adaptor to go with the charger, lol.

? No, you weren't at all rude -I wouldn't suggest anyone accept 'internet advise' without cross checking it against something else.
The batteries you've chosen have a modest claim for capacity so are probably genuine. Only drawbacks are the limited warranty and return postage, if ever required. The desktop battery charger I have looks identical, plugs into a standard micro usb charger so you might not need an adaptor.

I've had very good experience with the ZeroLemon 2300 too.
Very good battery life with Carbon ROM.
My friend is also using the Zerolemon battery, I'm still doing fine with my stock battery.
