This is known issue and these are known solution for them. Unless you actually force to bend it, you'll probably won't break it. And I think you could spend some bucks to buy a alcohol to fix a problem with 350 dollar phone

I'm really sorry, but that, you gotta find it out. I never done this before

Go to the directory where SDK is installed and go to the extra folder.. google. .USB. .or however its setup until you see the setup.inf file in the USB folder. Double click it. Scroll thru it and you should see the driver setup for the nexus one, ns4g, gnex, nexus 7. If you don't see the gnex I can help. I only ask this because I had an issue and the gnex wasn't in the file.
And if going to use alcohol you have to use the 99% isopopyl

Hi I've the same issue after hot restart, hung at h-boot. So I hard reset, restore boot using clockworkmod, then reboot. The same happened.
I am using Android Revolution HD 7.0.4 with RCMIX3D kernel
guys try usb storage in recovery. if it works, it means it is software(kernel and/or rom). if not, probably hardware. i would say return to stock, but i think you need adb to do that... search for info on that, there are several topics discussing it
edit: about cable: in general it has 4 pins. 2 fow power and 2 for comunication. if it charges, doesnt mean nothing
Hi, I've solved the issue! it happened when u using non stock launcher (other than Sense). if you clear default, set it back to Sense, it just work!
That's kind of strange though.... should word work any launcher...

[Q] Which build/nightly is the best?

I want to go to CM10, but Alpha 5.3 had terrible battery life! It may have just been my phone or something but, it was worse than on FF18. So I was just wondering which build I should go for, and if any of the nightlies are any better.

Any current Gen9 rom will brick the device as far as I can tell.
I may be wrong, but I think the tablet may be the same as the Prestigio multipad 5880d. I don't know enough about flashing to be able to tell if the firmware here (prestigio.cz/products/personal-computers/Tablet_PC/MultiPad_8.0_ULTRA_DUO) will work or not. It's under the "ke stazeni" section of the dropdown box.

Anybody tried the Google now packages you can flash?
Hey, I just got a Cobalt. I've rooted and used this guide http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/30620-fixed-google-play-issues-missing-apps/ and I've managed to get a lot more apps like Twitter and instagram to install from the Play store but there are still a lot of apps I can't install like GTA3. I imagine this is because the Play store thinks my tablet is another tablet but still not a tablet that can support GTA3? Ideally I want it to think I have a Nexus 7 or something that everything will run on!
Also when I go to the Play store on my PC I expected to see another device since I thought that's how I'd tricked the store into letting me download these apps? But there's just the same devices as before.
Can anyone make sense of what's going on? How can I get my device to accept almost all the apps from the Play store?
could any one maje a video of this tablet???

For those looking for Clockwork Recovery I've extracted and signed the kernel from the boot.img posted as part of the recovrry for this tab.
I think that flashing this kernel and recovery will give clockwork.
I won't have my tab until next week so cannot test this for myself.
I cannot yet post links so if you wish to try pop over to freaktab
Any feedback appreciated

It works brilliantly, thank you
Glad to be able to help.
Well I've received my tab today. First impressions really positive.
I've found an issue with my cwm recovery in that it does not format the internal sdcard. As this cannot be done from the tablet itself I think at present it would be best to set the tab up with standard recovery and then later on flash my cam and kernel.
One thing I have noticed is how picky the touch screen is. I got one for my daughter, who is 6 and uses all my other devices no problem. When using the archos however, it has difficulty picking up her strokes where it has very little trouble picking up mine. I'm guessing it's down to surface area.
Also this unit displays an old archos problem of the internal components pushing against the screen.
Anyone else experiencing similar issues, or know of any fixes. Otherwise a sound tablet for the price paid.

I've got an earlier non touch cwm working on my cobalt that correctly formats the internal sdcard. If I cannot resolve the issues with my touch based cwm I'll make the available.

It only charges via the power lead not usb which is strange as the power lead is 5V too.
Wiggle the lead about in the socket as a 3rd party usb power lead I've bought needs that to make proper contact to then charge.

[Q] What exactly is "pil-gss"?

I have a 2013 Nexus 7 and had no problems during the first week. One night i left it at 100% charge, and woke up to 70% i checked cpu spy and the device did not go into deep sleep. I literally tried EVERYTHING: factory reseted, rooted, installed custom roms and kernels and NOTHING fixed the deep sleep issue. Not even the JSS15Q update. I downloaded BetterBatteryStats and the process "pil-gss" and "powermanagementservice" are wakelocking the device. I did buy the nexus on Best Buy but i dont live on the us so its impossible for me to return it. I googled about "pil-gss" and didnt fint anything relevant. This seemed to start for me after the OTA updates were released, because my first week of owning it I had no problems. I even took it out of my new case with the magnetic lid just to be sure it wasn't caused by that to no avail.
Has anyone seen a way to remedy this? Obviously it's going to need a patch from Google, but is there a hack that might stop this?
PaulW from Google is apparently being made aware of the issues, I'm also having it, keep an eye on this thread:

[Q] USB Not Recognized

I'm on VectuS V4. Earlier today I was backing up my SD card in preparation for putting CM10.2 on my phone, and halfway through transferring stuff to my computer, the phone suddenly stopped recognizing the USB connection.
It's charging, but it's acting as if the phone is connected to a charger rather than a computer. The computer doesn't recognize that the phone is attached at all.
I've tried deactivating USB debugging, switching fast charge on and off using Trickster MOD, and everything else I can think of. It does the same if plugged into other computers, so it's definitely an issue with the phone.
If anyone has any suggestions for this, PLEASE help! I'm at my wit's end!
