I've tried a couple different Inverted Gapps bundles to get dark contacts lists and messenger. The problem I'm having is the the phone settings loses tons of options, noise suppression being the prominent one.
Does anyone have an inverted gapps that retains noise suppression, or can i just copy the existing (phonesky, correct me if I'm wrong) module from the stock gapps into the inverted gapps?

I found a solution on my own that appears to work. I won't say it's 100%, but you can try it out yourself, or download my modded gapps HERE.
Basically, I...
- downloaded the "gapps-jb-20120726-signed.zip" and "gapps-jb-inverted-20120726-signed1.zip".
- extracted the "gapps-jb-inverted-20120726-signed1.zip\system\app\" folder and deleted the "phone.apk" and "phonesky.apk" from the results.
- DUPLICATED the "gapps-jb-20120726-signed.zip" and renamed to "gapps-jb-20120726-modded.zip"
- in the "gapps-jb-20120726-modded.zip\system\app\" folder, I added all my inverted extracted apps (obviously not the deleted two apks).
To flash, boot to recovery and flash Darkside.Super.Wipe, then the CM10 Rom (personal preference, any CM10 rom will do), and then my gapps-jb-20120726-modded.zip, and finally Format the /Cache/ (or use Darkside.Cache.Wipe depending on your recovery method), and reboot.
Now I've got inverted apps, and I'm still getting all the phone settings options. Maybe this sounds more technical than it really is, but try it out for yourself and see!
Also, it goes without saying but do this at your own risk. I've only tested this for 2 minutes, and while I don't see the real negative effects beyond the typical gapps-jb-inverted-20120726-signed1.zip risks, I can't say this won't totally destroy your device. I don't expect to provide any support for this, and 100% will NOT continue to work on this. This is just a one-time shot.
Thanks man! Will test it out!

No disrespect intended, but I can assure you there is no settings for the noise suppression, and by all counts of third parties over the phone it was certainly NOT enabled by default, either.

Did you reflash only the gapps, or did you do a format /system prior to reflashing? I'll download that version that you linked. It appears you uploaded a new version 44 hours prior to this post? I'll test it out when Erix uplaods his latest build shortly (supposedly within a few hours).
EDIT: It appears your corrected version does indeed have noise suppression. I'd suggest maybe changing the file name to "signed2" or something similar, so as to avoid confusion in the future. Thank you for the fix! I can't find the old file to run an MD5 on, but the corrected version's MD5 is "eac1348f1211c9ec8f02d068bd5157e1". If anyone could post the other version's MD5, I would greatly appreciate it.

Um what? I've been using inverted gapps forever now and I still have that option.
Go here: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/29460-in...s-311-googlemusic-43609-talk-play-store-3817/, download what you want, and then make your own flash able zip and you're golden. Better than using random inverted packs.

I call this ROM "Almost Vanilla" as it's built from 4.0.3 sources with a few necessary fixes and a tweak here and there. I don't intend to add much of anything, Google did a fantastic job this time around.
Everything should work in this ROM!

I was looking at the official OTA zip hoping it was just a matter of yanking the APKs. Apparently they release the Gapp bits as patch files which get applied during the flash. I assume there must be a way to get them out of there but that stumped me.
Someone posted a nandroid in the S forums, maybe that would help?

Gapps-- all we should need is a market, right? The market should update itself, then we can download latest versions of everything else. I'll look for one of the old gapps versions that has market only.

In the interest of time I will make this quick. I ported this from MIUIScotland's 4.0.3 rom. Everything works if you flash the matrix kernel 13 or 14.5 (see below) Feedback is good.
Proceedure:
*v.1.12.23*
1. Full Wipe (format data, system, boot, cache if boot loops)
2. Flash rom (link below)
3. Flash either of the Matrix Kernels below.
4. Reboot and enjoy
*Update v.1.12.23-2.1.6*
Notes: ROM can be flashed over 1.12.23. Researching standalone flash results. For now install 1.12.36 (the original) then the update to be safe.
Full wipe if coming from anyother rom besides 1.12.23
*memory offset notice during flash is not an error notice, so disregard as normal.*
Working:
WiFi, bluetooth, voice, data, GPS, market, launcher, camera, DHCP, SU, Exchange (ActiveSync), Flash Player*
*Download the BrowserGoogle.apk>place in /system/app directory>fix permissions>enjoy
Not Working:
WiMax

Update: Below is the ROM Update I promised to deliver.
Version: 1.12.23-2.1.6----->>>>> I have merged my orginal base rom with the 2.1.6 MIUI framework. This merge results with all features functioning as in the orginal rom, but with the added system ui color scheme of 2.1.6. Also, I have added about a dozen new binary files in the /system/bin directory that I have aquaired and or patched from the basic ARMel Linux architecture. In addition to these binary files, I included about 12 new apk in the rom to minimize my own post flash configuration process. I hope that this can save someone else a little time and frusteration too. Bonus features of the new framework are the Supermarket, Notes, YouTube, Google+, DSPManager, the original SprintTV app, the orginal Nexus 3D Gallery, and all Supermarket downloads are now fully functioning. The build number is the same to prevent the mobile data from crashing. So with out further adoo, Here tis'...

Downloading the newest build now, hope the SU and carrier label bugs have been worked out, because besides those issues the first build of PixelRom 1.6 4G has been solid and snappy.
UPDATE: Yup, marketplace downloads keep returning the same error, even after clearing the data and all. (Error 921) and the default colors return a bright flashing green when turning the screen on or off (without adjusting gamma values)
You seem to have a lot of fans over in the ns forums. I'm excited.

Runs great. I did not have any issues with anything. This is very vanilla and will not be for everyone but if you are looking for a pure ICS without the bells and whistles and runs strong, this is your rom.
Edit - my dumb self should have read the thread title. It's 4.0.4! Now I have to run this. If any of you have not had the chance to run 4.0.4, grab this. Not often we get to play with these builds and you will see a difference.
Edit Again - I would advise a quick reboot after you set everything up. Just seemed to help everything settle in. BTW - like other 4.0.4 roms, which there haven't been many, you will no longer see that high Android OS usage with this rom. I know, by now we all know that the usage probably was not recorded/shown correctly but this is now shown accurately on this rom.

Hi everybody,
OP UPDATED :
I just wanted to share these beautifull Inverted Black and Blue Apps. I'm only a messenger here, and had the kind authorisation and support of NCANDIANO to post these here for everybody. Please thank him, and most important, go show your love on ROMDROIDHACKS Forum, which is really great !
I didn't made these, so I'll take no credits. Please thank NCandiano, and ROMDROIDHACKS :
Original Thread here : http://romdroidhacks.com/forums/index.php?/topic/15-twistedx-theme/
The amazing TWISTED(X) Theme, made by NCANDIANO, will only work with KILLROMS , but as he's a real Gentleman, he made separate inverted apps only package, for us to use with all other Roms (should work on all J.B ROMS.)
What you'll find (Quoted from Twisted(X) Thread) :
Inverted (Black and Blue) GApps & Extras:
TwistedAppsOnly: http://db.tt/DX8nht1F (Contains for your pleasure: Updated Contacts, Calendar, Gmail, MMS, and Keyboard, Google Now, Email, Calculator, Google Talk, Phonesky(market))(This pack can be used with any 4.1.1 Roms. Google Now may have to be installed seperately, however.)
Flashable App-Zips: For your convenience. In the event you'd like to sample one or two flavors, this is the menu. Have at it.
Gmail: http://db.tt/1veBVDpY
Calendar: http://db.tt/nOxUy7b4
Contacts: http://db.tt/ezCjuaxC
MMS: http://db.tt/dXKhhsf2 (This is the Mms from KillRom, with QuickText)
Keyboard: http://db.tt/VbXsfbbI
GoogleNow: http://db.tt/jDLqcwM0 (You need to be on the updated Google Search from the market for this to work. See disclaimer above regarding if it doesn't take on the first flash!)
GoogleTalk: http://db.tt/waeB0yuJ
Email: http://db.tt/rJ4R5xbd
Calculator: http://db.tt/sYd5V5o6
Market(Phonesky): http://db.tt/H2T9fhVz
FOR BETTER AND NICER AND BIGGER SCREENSHOTS, WELL GO TO : http://romdroidhacks.com/forums/index.php?/topic/15-twistedx-theme/
I particularly advise using these apps with the wonderful RASBEANJELLY ROM, which is already all Black and Blue : http://fitsnugly.euroskank.com/?rom=rasbeanjelly&device=maguro
OR of course using the Original Theme with KILLROMS : http://romdroidhacks.com/forums/
Instructions for flashable zip : wipe cache and dalvik, flash and reboot.
If you want to revert to stock apps...then you'll have to flash again your Rom after having performed a cache and dalvik wipe.
Usual Disclamer : I'm not responsible for the damages that these could eventually cause to you phone. I suppose you're grown-up people, so you don't need me to hold your hand...blah, blah,.......BUT these apps should not harm your phone if you follow instructions...
Yay... Looking good.
Thanks for sharing.
Would it be possible for me to edit the text (e.g in Gmail) to white?

I'm just sharing mate, and won't change anything to it, sorry.
You can talk with NCandiano though on DroidHive Forum, he's a nice guy, and maybe he would help, don't know....

Has anyone managed to install the quicksearch inverted app? I tried both installing it as a normal apk file and moving it to system/app/ after removing velvet.apk (which should be the normal app) but in the first case I get an error message saying it's not a valid apk file and in the second case it doesn't pop up anywhere in my installed apps list after rebooting the device. Thank you.

That's strange....
Try this one and report ; you don't need to delete first the old one, just put the new one in system/app folder, it will override it, and the phone will reboot.

Oh, that's must be why then. I had moved out of the /system/app folder the original velvet.apk in my attempts. Now even if I move it back to the app folder, the stock google search app won't appear in the apps list no matter what. I guess I have to flash gapps again and then follow your procedure.

Yes, i think deleting first the file must "disturb" the system somehow...
Try with the Quicksearchbox in OP, and if it doesn't work, then try the Velvet one.
Instead of deleting or moving the original files. Just rename them. Then it's easy to undo the changes.
Remember to check that permissions are set.

Link me to the ROM you're running. That apk is a ***** with different ROMs mostly because its new. I'll build a working velvet for you later tonight and post by tomorrow.

You are right, I should've just renamed it. That was my bad, I thought that following the rootzwiki inverted gmail client installation procedure would work with those apk as well (mount /system for W permissions as root, delete /system/app/gmail.apk and then install the custom gmail.apk as a normal apk file).
For the record's sake, I've tried flashing latest gapps but I couldn't manage to make google search pop again. Maybe I should just do a clean flash of the rom again and try with the correct procedure.
What's strange is that i'm using too Rasjellybean 9th Aug , and i installed this without any issue.
So volapyk is right , this could be a permission problem.
Vaalen , have you tried the velvet apk too ?
And before reflashing default gapps , have you wipe cache and dalvik ?
Flashable Zips- Black Velvet Forthcoming
I added the apks into flashable zips. They're generic zip flashers they'll work in any recovery. Just wipe cache/dalvik and flash. It's not always just the name with the QSB apk, so I'm going to put together a Velvet.apk when I get home later, in the meantime these should make for easier installs for those who don't want to be messing around in the system/app folder. I'm PMing you the links because XDA won't let me link (not enough posts,) If you would update the OP I'd appreciate it.
**Black and blue UI, Framework, and Inverted Notifications Shade are only supported at the HIVE for Axiom ROMs at the moment.
Enjoy your JellyBean!
OP is updated with your flashable zip NCandiano, again a huge thank to you. As i said i just wanted to use these apps on other roms, and pulled these from your beautiful PZ Theme, and with your permission posted here.
But i didn't think you'd come and offer us even better ! That's great mate ! You deserve your own thread for your own work buddy ! I'm just a user who appreciate and share your work.
Flashed MMS apk and gmail apk. MMS apk works great except when you click a thread on the main screen the area you click doesn't highlight. Is this how it should be? Also gmail apk only screen that is dark is the main home screen. When you click to read an email it is white. Normal as well? Thanks!
For those who prefer open source builds, rather than "Factory Images", here is a zip which is a stock, AOSP 4.3 build, straight from source. Why post this when anyone could make it? Well, it seems Google messed up their binary drivers, so it took me a little while to fix them, and fix the problems and get the ROM booting (they put the wrong mali GLES driver in their blob package).
Anyway, I have fixed that, and made it build successfully, so without futher ado, an AOSP (no google proprietary apps etc) build of 4.3 for the Nexus 10. The fixed vendor blobs are available at https://github.com/pulser/vendor_samsung_manta for anyone wanting to build themselves, and all can be verified, as they came from the "Factory Image" of 4.3 for the Nexus 10.
This is a pure AOSP build, there is no boot animation or any other "Google" things - just a plain, pure, AOSP build.
Enjoy, and this can be rooted using Chainfire's current 4.3 root method using SuperSU, which is detailed at https://plus.google.com/+Chainfire/posts/WqS2E9kkN1L
Feel free to use, share, re-use, distribute, copy, paste, mirror, ignore, root, tweak, patch or mod. I am not like certain individuals who go ZOMG NO MIRRORS PLEASE... Go on, mirror, make a torrent if you want, and share it if anyone actually cares about this
Tested:
Wi-Fi
Bluetooth
GPS
Auto rotation
Accelermeter
Magnetic Field Sensor
Brightness Sensor (and Autobrightness)
Barometer
Seemingly not working:
Proximity sensor (not detected, but apparently has one)

Hmmm...I'm co cerned what you said about they put the wrong Mali driver in. What does this effect for those of us who flashed the stock image from the website?..

Nothing to worry about. I took the RIGHT driver from the factory image (stock image).
The AOSP release they made had wrong blobs, I rectified it with the correct files from the stock image.
I missed a blob:

Push to /system/vendor/lib/

Is this why the latest version supported for manta is 4.2.2r1 (according to this) while everything else is 4.3xx?
Explains why I can't get a flashable build.
This is why I stick to factory images.

It may well be, but the factory image is available.
But some of us don't want GApps, and don't want binary parts (save for the necessary evil of drivers), which is where AOSP builds come in.

Thanks. I like to build for myself but couldn't figure out why I couldn't flash successfully. Upon further investigation it appears that it is not supported (yet) in aosp. I'm running the factory images for now instead. However, this evening I'm going to flash this.
I just want to make sure. This wont wipe my internal hard drive. First time i flashed the new 4.2 i lost everything and cant backup anything as of now because i am outta town the whole summer.. Plz if anybody can confirm

I am not aware of anything to deliberately wipe /data, but I strongly suggest you don't flash this, unless you are willing to lose things? Why? because I didn't test every possible situation that could come up. I also didn't CHECK that /data remained...
So perhaps take the OTA (if you're on stock)? Or just hang off? It's nothing hugely special in my opinion.

I suppose if I could understand the page I would know which ones to take from the factory image...noob, sorry.

Thanks pulser_g2 for adding the correct binary blobs! Glad I'm not completely insane like I thought I was, I too noticed that Google had forgotten to provide the correct graphics driver binaries so I tried building 4.3 with the 4.2.2 graphics binaries and it not surprisingly didn't boot past the Google logo. Glad we could get this fixed :good:.

Sure, that is the only "blob" I am aware I forgot. The N10 supposedly supports Bluetooth 4 (LE), but I have no idea how to test it, as I don't have any Bluetooth 4 LE devices. Can anyone test that? I will update the system.img today for you to make it easier It was only one blob I missed, and it only affects using front facing camera I believe.
