Tango 8779 - Nokia Lumia 900

Anyone else notice the new 8779 build available via Nokia Car Suite? I've flashed it to my new Cyan 900 and it runs very well. Have been fortunate to have app hub account so unlocked but looking forward to interop unlock and custom roms.
I was a little disappointed that screen was just flat though, half of the funky factor of the 800 was that curved screen and it's ability to distribute glare and reflections a bit more.

I got the 8779 update through Zune.

Looks nifty. Would be nice to have a brushed metal phone and as long as its no Garminphone id love to give Asus phones a shot. Probably only going to be GSM though so no Sprint, No care.
It looks good for a ASUS.

Windows Phone 7 Device List

With so many threads flying around regarding confirmed/rumored WP7 devices, I decided to start this thread. This will have a list of all the WP7 devices with XDA-Forum links as well as some from other sources.
My research on this was pretty precipitous. As a result, not everything will be correct. I may have included the same phone twice under different names or may not have included some other phone. Whichever the case, please post here or send a PM and I will fix it asap. Otherwise, enjoy this first-on-the-web complete list of WP7 phones

Would also be good if you could give a brief spec list for each device...such as memory and camera megapixels
Thanks.
I was gonna do that, but I ran out of time.
I'll do it in a little bit.

Fingers crossed that it will (Cus that'll most likely mean an SGX540 GPU), but alot here have been saying it'll be a first gen snapdragon with the paltry Adreno200 GPU. ><

Lumia 900 UK Update?

No question sub-forum, so I'm posting here.
So the AT&T and Rogers have got a update for the Lumia 900 to:
OS version: 7.10.8779.8
Firmware revision number: 2175.2301.8779.12223
I'm stuck on:
OS version: 7.10.8773.98
Firmware revision number: 2175.2101.8779.12201
I was just wondering what all the other UK users are on? Or anyone else in Europe.
I want the Camera Enhancement they've made in the Nokia Firmware! Unless we already have it?
I'm on the same version and Zune says its the lastest for my phone (Lumia 900 T-mobile NL).
Same as you mate, I'm in the UK. I guess we will have to wait!
Sent from my Lumia 900 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Hi, i got bored and used the Nokia Care suite to update mine to 8779. Just followed the instructions on xda for At&t version and swapped the files to the UK versions. Worked fine.
Camera improvement was what i was after... didn't make any difference at first glance. Also had a slight issue with the date changing to 1980!! after initial flash quick off/on sorted that.
i'm no expert so can't support anyone.
cheers

Where did you get the 8779 files from for the UK?

This is the guide I used. my model is RM-823. the Nokia care suite tells you which you have. The downloader has all the files for all countries and versions.

Phone is allot snapier, I kept getting a scrolling issue which has now gone. Camera still crappy but then I am coming from gsiii and iPhone 4s so may its not that bad.
Just like me, I still have my Galaxy S3, but Window Phone 8 looks really interesting so I wanted to get used to it first with Window Phone 7 and cheers, hopefully I can find the update.
EDIT: I'm only able to find this update for our device ' 2175.2101.8779.12201' not '2175.2301.8779.12223' along with not able to find the Window update 7.10.8779.8.
Just curious what you did? I followed the instruction.

I can't remember now... I just know it was 8779. I am back to the iPhone atm but might check for you this weekend. I thought as long as I was on 8779 I would see the benefit on the camera.

Ordered a new screen

I crushed screen on my Lumia 900. Not to worry, I got a new one. After watching a vid on how to replace it, I decided I can do it, fix the old one. I ordered a new one from China... from china... eeek! http://www.parts4repair.com/nokia-lumia-900-at-t-complete-screen-assembly-with-bezel/ I did some checking and it seems they have been around for a while. Does anyone want an update on how this goes? Maybe you have accidently crushed your screen.
Definitely keep us posted on how it goes. Take pics too.
Had something similar on my Lumia 800 and following the video, everything seemed pretty straightforward..

Will do, before and after. So far, keeping me pretty well posted and even refunded me a couple bucks for shipping. I do believe I saw the 800 on there also, so if they are worth using... it would be a great resource.
thanks for the link and tell us when and if you receive it. I need a new LCD myself since I broke mine a month ago and couldn't find a replacement for less than $200.
Did you get the screen with AT&T logo or without?

I got it with and oddly enough, it was cheaper. I got a tracking number... supposed to be on the way. 7-14 days.
After watching the video, I just HAD to take my screen off a week after getting it. It was REALLY easy and straight forward. You should have No trouble with this repair since they are sending you a complete screen WITH bezel.

Unfortunately, No, I don't. I'm going to grab a 920 when they come out though. Currently, I'm stuck with my trusty Focus.
I agree, with the updates, and the future updates, the 900 is an AWESOME phone. Good price on the screen with digitizer. :victory:
Super easy I recently did this as well, my screen also came with some tools but they they were to big I think they sent t6 when I needed a t5 no worry though as I had a full set at home anyway

Unlock
This phone has now found a new home on T-Mobile! Wife and I will now have twin Lumia 900's! Unlock was a bit of a pain. I called customer service and they gave me the line the phone couldn't be unlocked until I got upset and reminded them today is the 8th. I had to stand my ground, but a supervisor unlocked the phone. No wait, no email

Lumia 900 rm-808

Is there going to a jailbreak coming out soon for the rm-808? All I see is rm-823(?) custom roms out. I really miss my android features like the screenshot and the ability to install unknown software onto it.
I also made a RM-808 rom.
I think it was you, who asked me if i could also cook one for RM-808, right?
So, my SimpleROM v1.0 is also available for RM-808.
But the method of "jailbreaking" (i hate this word ) your Lumia 900 RM-808 is exactly the same as the RM-823.
So, unlock your bootloader, then you're free to flash.
But this atf box(?) is kind of expensive

then go and find a phone's repair shop in your town, which have an ATF box.
I'm sure they can do this for you for a small amount.
What about those jtag wires(?) . I think it is called that. Will there be a possibility that they'll open the phone up and solder it in too
