I'm on the stock GS3, not rooted yet.
Wifi calling is really problematic on my phone. The caller can not hear my voice 8 times out of 10. Also the phone hangs many times while using WIFI calling.
With bluetooth, the wif icalling has never worked.
Anyone else had these issues?

Not sure if this is carrier issue or GNex's issue...
When either wifi or Bluetooth dun tethering, connection is unstable. It would work for couple minutes (maybe 3~5), then lose connection. After couple more minutes, it reconnects again.
Anybody have this issue?

This is a really old thread, but I have the same issue on mine. I'm in Asia using the unlocked GSM Galaxy Nexus, so it doesn't look like a carrier issue.
I haven't tested Bluetooth tethering extensively, but WiFi hotspot is crazy unstable. It has become a big issue for me. I connect to the hotspot on my laptop, but it stops working after a few minutes to an hour. I have to restart WiFi on my laptop and try again until I get a stable connection. I can connect to friends' iPhones with no problems, so again, it doesn't seem like a carrier issue.
I've changed both radios and ROMs, but the problem persists regardless. I'm currently on the latest AOKP (4.0.3), but I had the same issue on Android Revolution (4.0.2). Also, the issue seems to be present while tethering both through the built-in hotspot function in Settings and the WiFi Tether for Root app.
This is quite a frustrating problem. Hell, it's such a big issue for me that I'm even considering jumping back to an iPhone. Any insight or alternative hotspot app suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
same issue......always had unstable wifi tether....
Wifi tether has been stable for me on 4.0.2 stock. Bluetooth to my late 2008 MacBookPro is hit or miss though. Sometimes it'll go for hours and others it drop every 5min... regardless of signal quality.

Whenever I'm on wifi calling the person I'm calling Can't hear me. All they here is some screeching. I can hear them perfectly but they can't hear me. My wifi signal is good so is my cell signal. When I turn off wifi and use cell network to call it's fine and everybody can hear me. Why doesn't wifi calling work for me? Anybody having the same issue?

That's a software bug when the Voice Control to answer the phone is turned on. Just turn it off:
1. Go to the Dialer.
2. Press Menu then Call Settings.
3. Select Answering/Ending calls.
4. Uncheck Voice Control.
Try that and let me know how that works.
I have the opposite problem - whenever I'm on the office WiFi the caller can hear me but I cannot hear them. The home WiFi works fine. Phone is Samsung Galaxy Note III on T-mobile with Android 4.3. I checked and my Voice Control was not on, so that isn't the problem.

I can vouch for this. My boss thought I was autotuning my voice to mess with him, and a test call made me sound like Mickey mouse. Called customer care and was given the same info. It's a bug they're aware of apparently.

I have a galaxy J7 on tmobile. When the phone was new Wi-Fi calling worked fine. Shortly after, the screeching problem occurred and was consistent on all Wi-Fi calls. I could hear the other party, but they only would hear a loud screech. I searched for a solution to this problem for about 7 months. I was nearing the point of doing a factory reset I just found a suggestion to turn off "ok google" I tried this and so far, no screech for 2 days.
Any calls made over wifi on my note 3 sucks even used third party apps as well but on my note 8.0 wifi calls works good.. I tried few methods to fix it and nothing... Any help??

Suck how? poor voice quality or dropping connection mid sentence and telling you signal is weak, when you stand 2 ft from router?
I had second one: GS3 worked fine, data worked good, but Wifi calling just didn't work on Note3.
After someone's suggestion from here I checked my router, it had auto update off, I changed that to on, verify manually I'm on the latest router firmware and it works like a charm ever after.
If it's the first one, yeah, it could sound better and I hear HD voice does not work yet, so once Tmo fixes that, should be much better, at least between sets supporting it.

Poor voice quality and dropping connection. I stand next to router still the same. So your saying auto update my router firmware and turn auto update on? And your note 3 wifi calls work? Can you give me the steps how to do that and does it interfere with any other devices connected to the router? Thanks...
Router shows firmware is up to date and still I'm having wifi call problems

My note 3 forces my calls over wifi any time it's connected to wifi even when I disable wifi calling or set it to cellular preferred.

every since ive went away from stock roms, I've had the same problems, more missed calls to, like I'll just get a missed call notification later, or it will ring once etc.
So I decided to see how well this worked, and to my surprise, it worked quite well! It's exciting to experience it. Walked in and out of my house a couple times only to watch the call handoff to the LTE network. Even turned wifi off manually in the middle of a call to see how that would go. Picked it right up!
Anybody else seen this experienced this with the 20b Lollipop update?

WiFi calling never works for me... Always days "enabling" and rarely ever enabled... So I donoooo
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-g3/help/wifi-calling-error-t3077412
I get this whenever I try to enable wifi calling...
It connects but when I try and make a call it just plays a recording saying rhe call cannot be completed try again later. Worked fine on my s5.
Sounds like a tower issue maybe. Have tou you tried from a different location.

Wifi calling should be bypassing the tower. This worked great on my s5 the day before I bought this phone. Seems im not the only one as my thread on sprint forum has many people having the same problem.
Its people using google voice with wifi calling having the problem. Hopefully Sprint fixes this.
