Hey guys this is my first post here but been browsing on xda for a long time. I have a question. I am rooted with black bean ROM android 4.1.1 on a evo 4g flashed to cricket. I know its a mouth full. Anyways on my last ROM which was classic I had to change my apn settings to be able to get MMS messages. I went to use apn manager and it says its not compatible with jelly bean android version 4.0 and above. How can I change my APN settings on this ROM/ software version. Thanks for all the help in advanced and keep up the great work devs

Ok so I tried that this morning and the APN I create will not stay. It disappears after I hit save....... kinda lost. I read that you can not write a new APN if the MCC and MNC in the build.prop folder do not match. I checked my build.prop folder and didn't find anything of those codes even in numeric form. Is there something I'm missing here

Ask shagnasty himself. I'm sure he'd be willing to help. He's a great guy and a good friend of mine.
Awesome sounds like a plan. Will send him a pm in the morning. Is there any other kernels that anyone knows about to run with these ROMs. I've noticed that the keyboard and some of the apps are laggy. Or is it just because these ROMs are in early dev stages? I'm still a little behind the times with kernels. Don't fully understand them yet

Attached to the bottom of this page is an CWM updater.zip for CM9 and AOKP, flash this after every CM9 update you install. If you do a wipe and restore your data flash this fix AFTER you restore your data as the fix deletes the telephony.db file from the data partition, which stores the APN values. This causes your phone to read the apns-conf.xml and write the correct Virgin Mobile values to the telephony.db on the next boot up.

Yes you could say that except I have been making mms fixes for virgin mobile for much longer than that. I was the one who figured out how to get mms working on cm7/cm9 phones flashed to virgin mobile. The boost script is much more simple, it just gives you the correct apn settings.

Oh most certainly, I just meant if I want to get Virgin Mobile MMS working on a different rom like [Re-Calked ICS] then it would just take following the DYI guide, or is it very complicated to modify the script to work?

You could try it. There is no guarantee it will work and honestly it probably won't. This script just activates some back end virgin mobile settings that have been added into the cyanogenmod general repo.

Is there a fix anywhere for Pageplus (Verizon Wireless) I want to try something like this for AOSP Jelly Bean ROM for Epic 4G Touch.
Thanks!
I had 4g before root and it was fast. After the root i moved to pa so couldnt test it out but now im back in nyc and my download is only 20kbps while my upload is 1-2mbps.
I changed rtsp and httppd to 0 in ##3282# and same thing. Reverted back.
Also updated modem to ff11, cleared cache and updated profile.
Still no go.
Using calkulins 1.6 ics rom.
No idea what else there is to do.
Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the heads up. I tried searching and came up with way more threads. I put too much in search.
So, what i understand from going through each post is that ics is modem picky and varies by individual phone.
I rooted my girls phone. We have same rom and modem. She ran a test and ended up with 8mbps and im still in double digits(20).
If that fails then a GB flash might and shoukd fix it.
Someone posted about modem corruption through recovery and odin was a possible solution.
Did i miss something? It looks like im stuck or might need to revert back to GB.
Have you updated the PRL and Profile? If not do that

I have my Droid Incredible flashed onto MetroPCS btw. Any suggestions?

I'm new to ROMing so I'm not sure if that's like the newer thing, (which I've been told that it's not). So if you could link me to a ROM with working 720p Video Capture, that'd be lovely.
Thanks guys.

Restoring a bad default still leaves you with a bad default.
See the below link on how to fix it. Use MNC of 012 instead of what the guide says.

As I said, restoring a bad default is still bad. I missed that MetroPCS was a carrier, the verizon APN will not work for that and you'll have to find their APN.
So even know the old xml file use to work It's a bad default now? By the way, I've googled and have downloaded apns from places but mms still will not work.

If it used to work then something broke it, which could be a handful of things, from a rom update to something else. The easiest way is to still make sure your APNs are correct. If you think it's the stock messaging app, try a 3rd party.

I reverted to stock after trying a few versions of CM9 and never being able to get MMS to work. Was leery of trying any add'l ROMs 'cause I didn't want to lose MMS (or other core functionality). After the glowing reviews for Albinoman's JB ROM, I took the plunge and have been very happy. MMS are no problem. (There are a couple of other things not working, but generally 3rd party apps will work around those issues. Only prob I haven't seen a solution for is Netflix doesn't work...but I don't think there's any JB ROM for the Inc that has Netflix working.)
Hello all,
I've been playing around with DHJOHNNYBLAZE's Rom all day and it's fantastic.
However I noticed my LTE isn't working on it for some reason.. I've flashed the Canadian modem overtop the Rom (as stated in the forum) and still no luck..
Also, for some reason when I enter the combination *#*#4636#*#* (or #*#*4636*#*#..i don't remember the order right now) it doesn't bring up the device menu :-\
Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks in advance

Are your APN settings correct? A lot of ROMs apparently get them wrong for Rogers. There's a thread here somewhere with the right settings - let me see if I can find it.
EDIT: This isn't the thread I had in mind, but this thread has lots of APNs listed, including Rogers.
I have run this rom for awhile...no.issues. if im.not.mistaken its.based on rogers 4.1.1? I would do.a.full wipe and re flash.

WFTN CM10.1 (and I think most AOSP ROM's) work only with ICS (and below) Modems, such as FL24 or older. I don't remember seeing FJ12 modem. Check the rwilco12's Modems thread in Development section. To get your MMS working with another carrier on AOSP, the easiest way I found is getting an alternate SMS app (Textra and GoSMS are the two I've tried) and changing the MMSC within the apps settings to the one provided by your carrier and rebooting the phone afterwards.
