Log into google voice from your gmail(assuming that what you used) account.... Or you can always type in "how to retrieve google voice info" in Google

This should help
1. Log into your gmail account from the "Google" main page.
2. Click on "More" at the top of the page.
3.Scroll down to and click "Even More"
4. Scroll down the page to the section labeled "Home & Office".
5. Click on "Voice".
6 Toward the top right-hand side you will see a gear shaped item; click it
7. Scroll down to and click "Settings"
On this page you will see the google number as well as any forwarding number associated with your gmail account.
"Thank me" if I helped
Peace

You need to deactivate GV if you want VZW voicemail back.
Sent from my ADR6350 using XDA App
i had done all of that as stated
*73 was supposed to be the deactivation code for VZ how ever i was only getting an error
the answer for me was
*900 and
*920
i both of those and it worked like a charm. you have to end the call fowarding and those were the only codes that worked
but i thank both of you for your help and suggestions.
When receaving a call I get a voice message saying that there is a call from ----- press 1 to accept the call press 2 to go to voicemail. I am using google voice.
Are there any sugestions. I've gone to settings in "call", "google voice" ect.
Go to GV on your computer and go to settings. There's an option to turn off call screening.

Make sure to set that as the default on all groups, unless there are groups which you wish to have call screening.

WOOOOOW thanks for this. I've used google voice for a while and i have no idea why it just started doing that recently but it was driving me nuts.
What is the point of using Google voice instead of just regular? I apology for my ignorance.

It will write it in text. I see a use for it only when using a nexus device, which doesnt have sprint voicemail

I like that it saves all your text and voice messages online, and it is extremely easy to reply to messages from your computer.

Ever wish u had a second # u could give out? Want to be able to screen calls or listen in while someone is leaving u a vm? Wish some folks calls would just go to a spam folder & never ring ur cell? Wish u had an app that did all of this & gave u a second phone #? If u answered yes to any of these then u need a GV account.
Hope that helped.

Lmao you're a good advertiser. Can I get that using the account using the phone? I think I already have a GV but I didn't get a #. I'm slightly confused but I understand the awesomeness of what you said.

If u never completed setup of Ur fb account just go to Google.com/voice & complete the account setup to get Ur #. Once u've done that simply go to the market & download the gv app & set it up.

I need help please. I always use Google Voice just for my voicemails only. Just got my Nexus last night, set it up GV like I always do.
Missed a clients call this morning, and checked Google Voice and nothing, but there is a recorder icon in the notification bar, that would take me into some dial up phone voicemail ? Who the **** uses that in the 21st century.
Anyways, what's the deal here ?
Thank you.

follow this to make sure your number is correctly forwarding to your GV voicemail:
http://www.marketing.fm/2009/05/14/use-google-voice-without-changing-your-number/
Scroll down to the carrier number forwarding
Go into dialer, settings and set your voice mail to Google voice.

Thanks, tried that but some error came up, said my carrier does not support it ? That's not right.
I did just switch from Sprint to Verizon last night, could there be an issue there ?

Log in to voice.google.com and see your number. Or go into the Google Voice app and go to Settings. It will have an entry "My Google Voice Number" that lists your number.

Yes, you have to hook your number onto Google Voice via the website. It will usually entail your GV number calling your actual number and you pressing two buttons on the phone and then it will be connected.. Always how it's been on Verizon

Thanks for the help, I still had it set to Sprint as my carrier in the settings webpage, had to change that, and that dial a special #. It should setup now ?
Is there anyway to add a shortcut to "Favorites" in the dialer?
In one location is my most common dialed numbers and also frequent dialed number, so i'd like to add a shortcut to it on my home screen.
Thanks!
Why not go to shortcuts>direct dial and choose you contacts I'm not sure that there is such a way to have a shortcut to the favorites..
*hold the screen like adding a widget* and go to shortcuts and find direct dial and I should allow you to pick a contact
And if you don't like having a whole bunch of icons then you can put them in a folder and name it "favorites" if your on adw idk if anything else does that.

This is correct but I think direct dial may be faster but more work in putting it together.

Oh no question! But it might depend on what someone wanted to use it for. Dialing or messaging, but then I guess a direct message would be faster to. Damn, you win !! lol

Yeah i have done this, but there's extra steps to call.
1. Click on Staredfolder,
2. Click on name,
3. Click on number,
and to text
1. Click on Staredfolder,
2. Click on name,
3. Click on message,
4. select number from popup (if more then one number on contact)
Also there is not a list of frequently called numbers...
If there was a shortcut to Favs, it would be:
1. click on favs
2. swipe to call/text
Yeah I can click on the phone, then click on the "favorites", but was looking to save steps
Thanks again!

Having upgraded from an Atrix 4G using Gingerbread to the S3 on ICS, I noticed that I can't use nicknames to select contacts for SMS or Calls? Is this a "Feature" or bug and is there a way to fix it?

I've never heard of it or never used it before. You could ask upndwn4par (he used to make atrix rom's and makes GS3 ones now) and see if he knows anything about it. Good luck
Open the contact and hit edit, scroll to the bottom and click "add another field". Nickname is one of the options.

That's a problem with the app then. Seeing as it is on ICS, it could very well be that it needs to be updated. Or perhaps, there's a setting in the messaging app to show nickname instead of name.
You can also try a 3rd party app.

Must have been something that changed in GoSMS from ICS to Jelly Bean. Can't find anything in the settings. Weird because when I search my contacts, the nicknames work.

So why not put their nickname as their name, and list their name as the nickname?

I could do that, but it would be the easy way out.
