HELP....Flickering lines on screen!! - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Helllo everyone
I rooted my desire hd and put nik poject x rom in it.After that some horizontal flickering lines began to appear on the screen. These lines are more visible on grey background and noticeable on others. The picture quality also gotten worst. These lines doesn't appear on the splash screen but appear in recovery.

Have similar thing on JellyTime, no solution so far. It seems that tis issue appears only on few devices, seen just one or two reports in our thread.

@umair42 - I have the same problem It's called out of phase. you just need to resync/recalibrate your display but the problem is, there are no tools to do that, or at least I haven't found any yet.
There you have some more explanation
http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/clock_phase.php
If you find a solution please share beause my screen is driving me nuts.

It appears on every rom i flash.

One more with the same problem

[Q] Weird artifacts instead of letters?

Hello,
I know I am not a most active member of XDA comunity, but I am lurking here for a while now.
I tried to search across the forum to find help for my problem but couldn't find it.
Here is what happens. At some parts of a menu(app order or blinkfeed themes) letters are not shown the way should be,but I'm only getting some weird artifacts instead.
When I accces setting menu through those artifacts,my setting menu is shown same way,but if I acces it normally, through an app screen(home>settings) letters are shown normally.
Since English is not my native language, and I have trouble to explain and describe what my problem really is,I attached 3 screenshots therefore.
This is an ebay phone,so I don't have a guarantee list what makes xda my first choice in trying to solve a problem.
Thank you in advance
Cheers

Uhm,sorry.I'm on the stock rom,unrooted,JB 4.2.2 and sense 5.
Can you add some screenshots of the software info panel. Settings - about - software ?
Only thing i can think of is to do a factory reset and re-set up the phone

Back to the civilisation...
I tried to turn phone on and off several times but no success at all.I searched all over the internet to find people with similar problem, and have actually find quite a few,but their problem was broken screen, where artifacts were always on the screen, and not only on 2 menus with submenus.Since I haven't been at home,I did most of my search on the phone, and of course,at the evening, battery was almost drained so I put the phone on the charger over the night.Unfortunatelly(or maybe I should say luckily),somehow the connection between phone and the charger was loose, and was interrupted,so till morning, phone was really dead. After connecting it to a charger,it needed couple of minutes only to get a charging light, but after turning the phone on,the artifacts were gone!Everything was as it used to be,
Conclusion:
Where the problem was?I really can't say.
Like I said before,I tried to get rid of those artifacts by switching the phone of and on several times, but it didn't help.
I haven't done a factory reset primarily because I was to lazy to even think about adjusting the phone again, not to mention doing it.
And at some moment, when O was already at peace with those two menus shown with artifacts instead of letters, charger situation happened,Seems that battery draining and recharging it again had some weird connection with artifacts on the screen.
Thanks everybody for,at least, reading my post
Cheers

Notification LED not showing correct colours.

Hello. I have a brand new, unrooted, locked bootloader C6503. For some weird reason, my phone is not displaying the correct colours in the notification LED. For example, it should show a redish color when the charge is under 90%, but it showing green. In the Walkman app, it's stuck to a cyan colour and so on. I have no idea if it's related, but this problem surfaced soon after I updated the Album app. Anyone faced something similar?

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping it was a software bug, not something that'd require me to open the device, specially as it's just only 2 week old. But I'll save the video for future reference.

I took it to customer care yesterday and it was funny that the guy there showed me his note 3 which also have same flickering and they said that it's normal with amoled due to voltage variation at low brightness levels. So I left customer care without replacing display:victory:
Actually I don't want them to teardown my new phone so I thought of changing display after some time if it get more worse

am using latest 4.3 update I think it's problem with Indian INU firmware will be solved by 4.4 soon guess
I did a factory reset yesterday and kept brigtness above half till now I didnt have ny flickering.
I found this on web
There seems to be a
problem where the phone has problems
deciding if the software or hardware(CPU
vs. GPU) is what should be drawing the
screen… So this indecision causes it to
switch back and forth, redraw, etc….
Over at XDA there are lots of post relating
to this problem. Below is a temporary
solution to the problem
Here are the instructions!!
Temp Fix: (until they find/fix the problem)
1. Go to settings > about phone
2. Click “build number” 6 times fast
3. You’ll see “you’re now a developer” as
a notification at the bottom.
4. Go back to settings, you’ll now see
developer options above ‘about phone’.
5. Go in developer options, and click
“disable hardware overlays” under the
drawing section
This will fix the flickering!! The problem is
with android 4.2.x, the OS gets confused
and can’t decide if the CPU or the GPU
should be drawing the screen, so it flickers
do to it switching between the CPU and
GPU real fast…
Hope this helps anyone out there
experiencing this problem, and spread the
word to anyone else you know to make it
known! Loads of people are re flashing,
returning to stock, even returning their
phones because of this bug! So spread the
word to prevent others from making this
mistake.

[Q] Icon and text distorted

Newly bought M9. Icons and Text seems to be filled or surrounded with pixels in red. See screenshots attached.
I have checked and am sure there is no dead pixels on the screen.
Does anyone have this problem and know how to fix it? or should I return the phone to the retailer?
Thanks!!

Take it back. That doesnt seem right at all
If it's showing in screenshots too, it's software error.. So either try out some different roms, or if you don't like doing that, try a full reset and if it's still go back with it.
Thx guys, took it back and got a new one

Flashing rectangle next to battery percentage in drop down.

So when I drag down the mode menu, to the right of the battery percentage a rectangle flashes for a second. I've attached an image. In the image it's black, but sometimes it's green and sometimes it's white. Just seeing if anyone has this.

Same issue, I believe I have noticed other screen artifacts, but this one seems to be the one that is most constant
Yep I get it, not always but sometimes. Only seemed to occur after the most recent update.
Same here,
Did anyone reset the watch after update?

Yeah. Same issue.
Damn, I got the same thing.
I didn't even want to search for this. I just love my watch and wanted to pretend that this small thing didn't exist.
Good to know I'm not the only one

Yeah, it's not great. I hope they fix it soon with an update.
For me It's a non issue really. Very small item in the scheme of things.
I thought I was the only one with this. Seems like others have it to..
Anyone know a fix to get rid of it? Bothers me each time I pull down the drop down..

It is, and doesn't seem to affect anything. But it shouldn't happen and you would think they would fix it. It's just a bit sloppy.
Solution
This issue is fixed by changing the font size on the watch to small
