CDMA vs GSM updates - HTC One V

Does the GSM stock One V work better than the CDMA? I'm noticing all of these OTA updates coming to the GSM version all the way up to 2.24 and with PrimoC I'm running version 1.08 with no updates available. (I understand it's also up to the service provider) Does anyone know what these updates fix?

couldn't download cm10

Will any of the radios work for Telus Hero or only a specific one?

I'm looking at the radio thread and I'm wondering which one to choose for my device. I know that the GSM is what I want but does it matter which one? I'm using a Telus hero in the US on AT&T HSPA. Also should I just grab the newest one or are some better than others? I'm running the Modaco 3.0 ROM.
use this one
ftp://xda:[email protected]_6.35.08.22-signed.zip
We are still waiting on the first update from Telus to extract the official radios.. its probably going to happen when they update for 2.1 but these ones work fine, no issues to report
That update made my downloads MUCH MUCH faster. thanks!

[Q] Weak/none network signal after unlocking HTC Desire

Hello all,
I've unlocked my phone with unlocking tool from the sieempi ( thanks ) and switching phone from s-on to s-off by using revolutionary. However, I encounter a new problem, weak or no signal from my network provider. Anyone have an idea how could I fix this ? Thanks!
Do you have the latest baseband version?
Try other roms and see if the problem persists.
Could upgrading the radio work?
Sent from my HTC One X TEGRA 3 using xda premium
Using CM10.1
Hey,
yeah I've tried with latest stable cyanogenmod but same problem...also, sometimes when I loose signal I get a full signal and it says that I'm in a roaming I don't know if I'm using the latest baseband version nor haven't upgraded radio. Can you tell me which baseband version is last or which radio could I use ?

Anything meant for the GSM M8 should work. Anything with 3.x base is current Sense base (usually states in the ROM info).

So that is your software number for the unmodded, stock ROM?
If so, your firmware is current, and you should be able to flash any current ROMs (and probably older ones, too - but most folks usually aren't that interested in older ones) for the GSM M8. Just stay away from any ROMs that only specifically support the CDMA versions (Sprint and Verizon).
I won't say "without any issues" since there is always some chance of issues, even with the completely correct configuration. But I can say that you shouldn't run into issues related to outdated firmware.
yea i have the stock rom s-on

Yes. Make sure you pick "other M8 version" (or some such wording - just don't pick Verizon, Sprint, or T-Mobile) in the AROMA installer.
thank you my friend redpoint73

Stock means Google play version?
Stock means either the HTC Sense (official) Based ROM
or the Google Play Edition (GPE)
It depends on what version (CID). For the vast majority, yes you will get OTA as long as you are on a stock HTC ROM (not custom, or any system files altered in the stock ROM) and have corresponding stock recovery.
But for some US variants (AT&T, Verizon, maybe others) the OTAs are sent via the carrier's network, and you will not get them if you aren't connected to that specific carrier. This can be circumvented on the AT&T version with s-off if you change the CID and MID to "convert" the phone to another version (not possible with Verizon CDMA version).
