This is still alpha version you are flashing this on your own responsibility
Dont blame me if your phone turns into a termonuclear bomb and explode
into a big mushroomcloud that destroys the whole town
Dont blame me if you turn into hulk by using this ROM.
Dont blame me if your alarm app fails and you get fired or you miss
your wedding
You chose to make these modifications, nobody made you do it.
I will update this ROM every 4 to 7 days from Shelnutt2's nightlys. If there is a major fix in a nightly then i will not wait 4 days i'll update emediatly. If you find a bug that you know how to fix then feel free to write here or if you have time make a patch, this is a big project to be maintained by 2 guys. If there is a dev here on Hero GSM forums that is willing to help then help
Features:
---JELLYBEAN
---Google Now
---Ported from Shelnutt2's HeroC nightly's
---Using Las Venturas 1.2 kernel by riemer
Problems:
---Slow
---Camera
---Audio besides speaker, very close to full fix.
---Bluetooth (almost fixed)
---Hardware Acceleration (not likely)
How to install:
---Download the rom and put it on your SD card
---Reboot to clockworkmod
---Wipe data
---Go to advanced tab/Wipe dalvik cache
---Flash the ROM
---Reboot and say hello to your new ROM
---Be patient, first boot takes about 10-15 minutes
Tips:
1. ROM is default OC'd to 633 MHz to increase speed, if you have any issues with that speed (graphical glitches or something) reduce it.
2. Go to developer options and enable force GPU rendering
3. If you are a developer go to developer options, root access and enable root to ADB and apps
4. Go to performance settings > memory managment > zRam > 18 or 26%
5. Go to performance settings > Processor > CPU governor > ONDEMAND or PERFORMANCE
6. Go to performance settings > memory managment > allow purging of assets
7. To bypass welcome screen tap all the corners in a clockwise motion, starting with the top-left
8. Install LauncherPro it will give you a bit more speed but it will be ugiler. You pick will you install it or no

Good good, ill redo my CM10 thread when I have time and do Paranoid android CM10
Be carefull : CPU natively OC'd @710 MHz won't boot on any device. You should reduce it @633 to make it bootable by anyone...
No problem, i placed that in kernel because it booted for me, new build is ETA 5-6 hours from now. Camera should work

Forgot the symlinks in the updater-script?
No, bad wifi module in /system/lib/modules, get the one from CM9, do adb shell insmod /system/lib/modules/wifi.ko, reboot and viola wifi works No need to symlink modules here

Thank you for porting this. You're not only helping The Hero community, but also the entire Htc Magic Section.
If you have time, could you send me a PM with the files you have to change when you port from CDMA to GSM. I tried but it didn't worked when I just changed kernels.
Thanks in advance
Keep up the good work!
Installed and booted. But Wifi doesn't seem to work?
You have to fill in your gmail-credentials (at first boot) but it can't verify since wifi isn't working. Does this mean you can only boot CM10 when you have got 3G?
Wi-Fi is a small bug in this ROM, fixed in new version, uploading now ... ETA 10 minutes

[Kernel] .29 Alpha for Cyanogenmod 5 Based ROMs 【aHero】 - For the Impatient
Here's a quick and dirty kernel compile with bluetooth and SetCPU OC both working for this ROM (and any Cyanogenmod based Hero ROM really). Should not be overclocking on boot.
Uses koush anykernel format to make it compatible for any CM based ROM.
I don't plan to update this. I had no intentions of making a Hero kernel so I probably wont be updating this. It was kind of an accident. I don't even have a GSM Hero. Anyways flash and enjoy! Devs can take what I did on my .config and make it good. There's some weird stuff in it.
If this eats your phone please do not hunt me down.

I copied the netfilter options too. If someone can try to see if Wifi-tether works that would be awesome.
So apparently my kernel boots this aHero and fixes bluetooth. It's a .29 kernel based on the new source code.
Mind you that I might be missing some things. I took around 20 minutes comparing the existing .config and making one that is more similar to the Cyanogenmod .config by eyeballing differences and copying pasting code (yes really). I got really lazy toward the end because the .config was so damn long.
I at least enabled squashfs so the .sqf files decompress for sure now. Set localversion to cyanogenmod. You can see what I did to it in the download link as well, where I have a pastebin of what I did before I disabled perflock.
I also disabled a crap load of debug options that were enabled for some reason.

Does it need a wipe and reflash first, or should it be ok to try over current CM ROM ( Vanillain 3.0 test version) ?

And me. Best wait I guess for a fix later.
Heh, awesome.
Be advised that this sometimes freezes randomly, that's the only bug I can see so far. Especially during going from and to sleep. That's the only issue that needs to be resolved. Apart from that, everything seems to work.

INSTALL PROCEDURE
MAGLDR partition sizes - Use Last 24mb NAND - 5/330/10
Install the rom as normal with CWM
Reboot and wait for the rom to finish first boot and complete the HTC wizard, wait a couple of minutes at the launcherpro desktop, you may config wifi and some settings but DO NOT add any accounts to accounts and sync.
Reboot
Flash the Data2SD in CWM
Reboot
Install Superuser from the market
I had to strip "everything" I could to get this rom to boot with enough NAND data space to function before rebooting again to install data2sd. I had 22mb data space left on my first boot.
Enjoy

let me know how it goes asap, i want to be sure 330m system works, 315 worked for me but as you can see i have under 5mb left.
After you flash go to advanced and report errors, mount sdcard and check the cwm log and make sure all the minzips worked, to ensure you didint run out of system partition space.
And remember to enable use last 24 nand in magldr under services.

So your thinking this could be fixed in a .32 kernel if someone could figure out why the .35 kernel fixes it by finding the missing part ?
I am simply hoping soon Dorimanx might dev a .35 kernel with his performance modifications, I think he just needs time.
Just an update on this rom, the latest zram script by Dorimanx is clashing with this roms oom settings, I am going to work on tweaking it. I will post an updated zram script for this ROM once I am satisfied with the settings.
-Update
2nd post has CWM flash zip with a better zram script.
Dorimanx Kernel 2.8 had a Bluetooth Bug, attached to 2nd post is updated 2.9 kernel.
can't test now, but thanks anyway for a new sense work for Hd2!
I suggest to update kernel to 2.9 in order to fix bt bug
I will test this rom next week

yes, that is what i want to say, I think that should has possible be fix. but if someday DM decide to coding .35 ... well, I thought we put it away temporary and try our best for cooking rom first, and if possible then we could try to fix and coding kernel together. because kernel builder not to many but have lot of chefs, so i thought maybe we should join to kernel part to find out the bugs.

* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please

It's based on CyanogenMod 9, and will continue being to be so.
In short, it's a heavily modded CyanogenMod for tablets, fully opensource

Installation and bugs are also same as CyanogenMod 9
So, download the zip, transfer it to the sd, reboot into Recovery and do a backup (always preferred, but optional), then install the zip.
Install GApps afterwards if you aren't coming from a CM9 / CM9 based ROM
Also read the CM9 thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1669827 (has some useful info)
Since neither of us has the device personally, the builds are untested, and we rely on you, the users, to help us.
Report anything wrong with the ROM, and what you'ld like to see in it.
Report issues here : http://code.google.com/p/sgt7/issues/list
(Do not report device-specific issues, i.e. stuff not working on CM9, report only stuff that you saw as a setting and didn't work as expected)
Lastly, thanks to the CyanogenMod team, for all their work, and thanks to the guys who ported ics to this tab.
It's just meant to be an addition of tablet specific tweaks to CM, and we might look forward to merging this functionality into CM later on, but for now, have fun with this.

UPD: Question - what difference between 1) Settings-->Performance (interactive, ondemand etc) and 2) Settings --> Extended Settings --> Cpu Settings --> Cpu Mode switch.
Who's "the boss" of these two?
The CPU in extended settings is "boss" if you set it lower you will see that the CPU never reaches 1500 even if you set it in performance

Those settings (performance, interative, ondemand, conservative) rule how fast and when does the CPU goes up a notch. If you have it on performance you CPU will be at the highest stepping set by the CPU Settings (e.g. 1500mhz). Conservative takes more time to step up the CPU so you might see some lag there. The most used one is interactive, it steps up quickly when needed (for example, when running a game).
In summary, the CPU Settings say how high and low can the pad go, and the governos say how fast can the cpu power up the device to higher CPU speeds.

Yep, I understand and know it, but then I don't understand why we need options in "Extended settings" if we can use any CPU control to do that.
And ok, I got answer - CPU Control is the "boss" and has higher priority)

CM 10.1.0 RC2 code base has been released and here it is for your flashing pleasure!
DISCLAIMER:
I am new to android development so more of a builder than a developer at the moment. So please do BACK UP your phone before you get started. If you know how to fix an issue in the ROM then feedback is more than appreciated. Bug reports are welcome, however please understand that I probably won't be able to figure out the solution without help. You can expect that CM code updates will be rolled into this ROM as these come out though.
For those of you looking for Skype audio this ROM does not yet fix it BUT I have tried the tinyalsa_audio stuff from Adam77Root and that does get Skype working just fine, but then it messes up your phone audio to where you don't hear anything or send anything out about 3/4 of the time. So we're getting close but not quite there yet... Oh and bluetooth calling was not fixed when skype worked, so there's something else wrong there...
RC1 was accidentally released with the tinyalsa_audio driver.. So this is RC2 with the "correct" libaudio which means skype is broken but calls work...
Using CWM:
1) BACK UP your current ROM!!!
2) Preform wipe / factory reset
3) Flash the ROM: cm-10.1-RC2-20130530-UNOFFICIAL-i927.zip (MD5 = 2e65e45bdc7539d5260062abdf6cd1cd) Mirror 1
4) Optionally flash GAPPS: gapps-jb-20130427-nonneon-tonyp.zip (MD5 = 13fc57e24ead77ec2613efd643af3800)
Stuff that I've noticed that looks to be fixed / has changed since M3:
- Moved over to KickAss kernel and battery life now totally rocks!
- Picture editing in the gallery is also working fine now.
- HDR photo capture looks to be working just fine also...
- Lock screen lag much less noticeable, but I do sometimes need to press the button twice...
Known issues without workarounds:
- Audio in skype is there but plays back at wrong rate (slower than normal, woman's voice sounds like a man's)
- I was not able to get my two bluetooth headsets working but bluetooth GPS works fine
Known issues with workarounds:
- GPS works great and fast but reports 0-2 satellites only, NMEA data stream seems to be incorrect, so parsing this data may be touchy in some apps
- Pictures taken by camera are shown rotated 90 degrees (then can be manually rotated within the gallery app)
Please don't report any of the above known issues. General CM 10.1 bug tracking thread <- Please check here before posting a bug report!
I'm sure there are others but I've not noticed them yet. I don't use a hands free but I can confirm the bluetooth does work with an external GPS for instance.
Change log:
20130530 - Corrected call audio issue and CM 10.1.0 RC2 code base
20130525 - Moved to KickAss kernel and CM 10.1.0 RC1 code base
20130503 - Fixed gallery pic editing, update OTA image
20130502 - Combined LiteKernel built 20130418, broke the gallery pic editing, added OTA support
20130417 - Combined LiteKernel built 20130414 into the ROM, no need to flash kernel seperately
20130416 - New LiteKernel build by bubor
20130415 - WiFi fix by bubor applied
20130412 - M3 code release, still using LiteKernel from 20130222
20130405 - Rolled back non-monthly code updates to revert this back to the original M2 code release. Corrected build environment to generate proper boot.img, No longer using the one from the LiteKernel which means that the LiteKernelManager is not messing around with settings now.
20130404 - Used the 2013/02/23 branch of the device tree and also re-synced with the CyanogenMod source. SD card mappings now match the CM10.1 later builds so recommend wiping and re-installing fresh for this one,
20130402 - Build LiteKernel into the ROM so no need to flash the kernel separately

Correct - If you flash the LiteKernel on top of the ROM then the WiFi will work.

This is pretty much just a new build with all the upstream commits, correct?
I suggest everyone review my bug tracker thread before posting bugs, as these builds are one in the same rom...

Agreed.
This build is based on:
- CM 10.1 M2 release code base (released 4 Mar 2013 so the Feb ROMs are based off the M1 release)
- The-Covenant device tree and proprietary files which I assume have not been touched since end of Feb
- thegreatergood's LiteKernel binary which is the same as the other ROMs
So any issues that were related to the kernel or device specific stuff will still be there, but CM based issues may have been resolved. Case in point the audio playback lag is now fixed on my phone.
YMMV of course!
I am doing right now a backup of my current rom. I really want to see if skype and magic jack works now. I will post back in some hours.
Is bluetooth handsfree fixed in this build?
Re: [DEV][ROM][JB 4.2.2][Unofficial] CM10.1-M2 3/31/2013
One question. Do i need to flash the keyboard fix? and the rom is compatiblr with the mod to put external sd as internal? i try to flash but never boot. I will try again in a few moment

In my test both headsets connected fine but one gave no sound and the other gave me only static. Not sure if the mic was working on either one. I don't usually use bluetooth so can't say for sure but I think this is still an issue on this build at this time unfortunately.

You won't "need" to but the crashing keyboard gets annoying fast. So installation of a keyboard from the play store (I used the hacker's keyboard) is a must to make this usable. now if there is a "fix" available for the stock keyboard on the JB builds then let me know what it is and I'll see about adding it to the ROM by default.
As for the memory cards, the internal is mounted as /mnt/emmc and the external is mounted as /mnt/sdcard. Not sure if that answers your question...

I was talking about these patches http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2067954
there is a patch for swap the external sd with the internal, and another for the keys in the keyboard.
Edit: i think that the keyboard patch no needed. But the Patch to swap the the external SD as internal, doesnt work. The rom never boot when i install it.
Another thing, its me, or the wifi is very very slow? i am downloading skype from the market and is taking so much.
Sorry if i wrote something bad :/
Just corrected the link to the LiteKernel, you may want to download this new link and re-apply to make sure you have the latest kernel installed. Trying to get this built into the ROM to avoid any further confusion...
Ok, i will try it again, but the skype/magicjack audio issue still exist
Just posted a new ROM build that now has the LiteKernel-20130222 built in. No need to flash separately. CM code is the same so no change there. If you already downloaded the 20130331 version and installed to 20130222 kernel then no need to re-download.
CM10.1-M3 release should be coming out shortly so do expect another update soon...

I take no responsibility for what this may or may not do to your device.
Do not forget to click Donate button! It makes me work harder!
Thanks Pumbaster for your work!
My device doesn't seem to go to sleep...
WakeLockDetector shows Android System --> ConnectivityService as the main issue. BetterBatteryStats shows the same...
I tried turning location services off, froze Mobile Data and Mobile Network Configuration in Titanium Backup but that doesn't help. No checking if the same wakelock appears with wifi off...
Anyone with any clue? Or the same problem?
Will check the ROM and tell you dagrim.
But first thing first, I have to install it. And I have 2 questions, to avoid screwing things.
- Does it works with TWRP instead of CWM?
- Is there a reason to have a June version of minimal gapps where a version of December exist?
Thanks to everyone in the process (romers, informers, helpers)

I used pico gapps myself and the june version is way smaller then the december version, then again I actually did try the december version as well and it seemed to work fine. So not sure, apart from the size...
About TWRP vs CWM, not sure. Guess it also should work with TWRP but haven't tried... CWM is needed for True Dual Boot, but that seems bugged anyway.
By me too. Battery drain is to much, device don't go to sleep...

Yeah, seems to be a common issue.
My device only goes to sleep when wifi is turned completely off. When I have it set to turn off when display is off I still get the wakelocks. I also have set the scanning for open wifi to off, location services turned off, etc.
For now I flashed back to the 0114 version as that one is working fine here...
If I can share some logs or anything, I'd be more then happy to!
@dagrim1: I hope, Pumbaster make new, fixed build
I Encounter Graphical Glitches with 3rd Party Browsers (Opera and UC Browser)
Chrome works fine so far. Also heavy Battery drain an 17/1
@faust93: what is with battery drain?
Did a very dirty try or replacing frameworks.jar but that didn't work...
Saw some wifiStateTracker errors and that and ConnectivityService seemed to be part of the framework, that's why I gave it a shot. 0118 still has the deespleep/wakelock issue btw...
I don't really care about dual boot. MIUI has so much limits. Once I go to CM, I don't think I'll be able to come back to MIUI...
But I'll stick to CWM, just in case...
I just tried the wpa_supplicant.bin file posted by pumbaster on 4pda and it seems to solve the deepsleep issues!
Post 351 of the custom mipad 4.4.4. rom thread there...
http://xep.8800.org/mipad/wpa_supplicant.bin
Place in system/bin and set permissions to rwxr-xr-x
@faust93: I hope you don't mind me posting this here but I saw you posted links to the same location in the topic start, if so my apologies and I will remove it asap (but I am going to sleep now, so won't be up until next morning...)
Also had some iussues with stuttering video playback, but setting 'disable hardware overlay' in developer settings fixed that for now...
Thanks for the awesome work!

Is this bin file integrated in 2015.01.18 build? What do you know about this ROM? Did you test it?

I don't believe it's integrated in 0118, think that fixes some sd stuff...
I am currently running the 0118 build (with the wpa_supplicant.bin file replaced manually) and seems to be working pretty fine. Had some video issues with a certain app (video jumping a bit, stuttering) but think I fixed that with 'disable hardware overlay' in developer options.
Without the replaced .bin I also had a problem with turning off and on wifi. It would work when booting, but if I turned it off I couldn't turn it on again... The replaced .bin also fixes that. Now checking if antutu finishes it's run...
@dagrim1: hope, Pumbaster fix this problem!
Just another small question: full wipe will delete the /data partition too right ? So the ROM zip file will be deleted too ? Or am I missing something ?
Thanks.
I tried to install with TWRP and when I reboot, I get to MIUI v6 so I guess it rebooted in the wrong system.

Unfortunately I tried to install CWM with fastboot and it failed to install... No specific error message.
I have seen a port of TWRP for MiPad. Have you tried this one, or the standard one?
How I wish I could just flash CM on my MiPad...
