Yes, just unlock it the way you did the first time with the unlock.img. You have the img I hope, just go to fastboot usb, then flash the unlock img like the first time (factory reset will be done neverthless, so backup what you need)

I have a Singapore or Hong Kong market A510e and had to update it to the European ROM before I could update the bootloader, but that was back in January. Hopefully the HTC Asia RUU will work for you.

Hey! I gave it a try. I successfully ran the HTC Supertool v3 and i got a message ROOTED blinking in different colors After restarting the mobile i just checked the titanium backup tool , but i got an error cannot find root and also i could not find the superuser app installed.
What could have gone wrong ?
Thanks!
may be you can try another way ,first recovery and then root, because you are not unlocked the bootloader you can not use the tools with the ADB command.
I also want to know the hboot and cid of your phone, may be your phone the cid is 11111111,this phone is hard to recovery and root.there is a recovery in attachment, you can have a try.if it is not work I have anyother way. recovery version is 5.028

Hi,
Thanks for the input and apologies for the late reply . I was away all the while.
Tried the recovery suggested by you. It failed and below is the screenshot of the same:
Then went on to use the SD Tool App and found the details. Not sure what my CID is.
A recovery already exists for my phone:
Hope this info helps. Can't wait to hold a rooted WFS. Thanks in advance.

I replied to your question in modaco but I mentioned again here, do you do the bootloader unlock procedure first before you run the superboot ?
I'll make a simple tutorial later on how to unlock and root the htc one v.
^
hii, sorry i havent checked modaco yet. i just got the phone like 2 days, so i havent done to the bootloader. it's still s-off tho. so what am i supposed to do before flashing the boot.img ?
thanks

If the phone is S-OFF then you don't need to unlock the bootloader. Just root it.

Right... if it is already s-off, just download the SuperSU from Play store and you are done.
@handisetyadi - is your bootloader written there s-off ? Please recheck.

S-OFF doesn't mean that the phone is rooted. He needs to do this first:
ckpv5 said:
Rooting with Superboot
1. Download r1-primo-superboot.zip to your computer and extract in any directory.
2. Download the modded boot.superboot.img
3. Replace the boot.superboot.img in the folder that you extracted just now (r1-primo-superboot).
4. Power off your phone by holding the power button down for 10 seconds
5. Power your phone on by holding power and volume down (going to Fastboot mode)
6. Highlight Fastboot With Volume+or- then press Power
7. Connect your phone to PC
8. Double click ‘install-superboot-windows.bat’
Once it complete, the phone will reboot on its own. In app drawer you will see a SuperSU icon, click on it and update SU binary then you are done with rooting your Htc One V.
You can try any app with root access to confirm it is working.

He needs to do that only to have root and full ADB root access, if he already s-off and needs only root, just download the SuperSU from Play Store but no ADB access.
But I guess his One V is S-On, that is why he failed to flash the boot.img the first time he tried.
I just s off it and root it. But it seems it doesnt have root access yet. But i already have SU app.
Everytime i go to root uninstaller app, it asks me for adb access which i dont know how.
And also, when o try to update SU binary, it always fails. Everything is ok except the busybox checking and Gaining root access

Proven to work.

Steps:
unzip,
put your phone into usb debugging mode,
connet to computer
double click install-root.bat

I get "failed (remote not allowed) error'
doesn't this do what we already have for an unlocked bootloader?
Bootloader must be unlocked to use this method !!!
1.29 one click root, no bootloader unlcioking.
Does any one know of a one click root method for the 1.29 version yet where we don't have to unlock the bootloader? I'm stuck in the mud so to speak.

So if I unlock the bootloader via HTCdev. I could just use a standard root method?
Heres my issue. I have the internatinal X with 1.29 and want to root
Can you tell me my options? I know the pros and cons of rooting and I know the theory behind it. This is just my first try and want to get it right. I'm looking for a fool proof method!
Thankyou so much if you can help

Well this this my first time rooting a device. It's my first big boys phone and I get the pros and cons of root and unlocked bootloader. Just because it's my first time im scared.
So if I unlock my boot loader I can root (what method? Can you point me in the right direction please?) and keep stock ICS for a while then update ROM when I feel fit?
One main warning if you unlock your bootloader with HTCDev your warranty is basically void.
Hey there. Just wanted to introduce myself(Jason). I'm gonna be getting the One V next week and am considering rooting it...just reading up and trying to understand everything right now. Won't actually do it till I'm comfortable that I know what I'm doing and why. Anyway, if you have any tips..always cool! take it easy!
Don't ever use combo buttons Power + Volume Up!
Well, the best thing to do at the beginning is to make some back up of your current stock ROM, before doing something like unlock your bootloader and/or rooting your phone...:good:
Just rooted today for my first time, it isn't as hard as you would think just follow the instructions and make sure u have a good amount of free time. Also like he said never boot holding the volume up, because that will brick you. And make a backup of your stock rom.
Welcome to the One V section
Hope you'll enjoy your stay here
Welcome bro..don't do anything n a hurry
Read instructions clearly
Tak bakup
Happy roooting:thumbup::beer:

I was confused at this point too, there are basically two steps to rooting:
1) Unlocking Device Bootloader
1b) Booting ClockWorkMod to make a nandroid (aka backup image I think) of your current setup.
2) Rooting

you CAN'T make a backup of your stock ROM without a custom recovery. and this implies also unlocking the bootloader in order to install a custom recovery

Hello Everyone,
Me and my friend are having some major issues in loading my "Recovery" option so we can switch my ROM to the [PacMan]. I have both [Root] and Bootloader unlocked on my phone. When ever we try to launch into my Recovery, below my splash screen I get this message, "This Build is for development purposes only do not distribute outside of htc without HTC`s written permission. Failure to comply may lead to legal action." The screen will stay like this and not load anything. I dont know if this is bad or a good sign. Any Ideas on how to fix my issue? I will go the full length in order to fix this.
My Phone is a HTC One V by VirginMobileUSA.
Me and my friend in worse cases are going to try to Re-Unlock My bootloader, reroot, and go from there.
Please someone help!

That screen is completely normal.Everyone gets it.dont worry.
In order to get to the recovery, you must first flash it.
The command is 'fastboot flash recovery recovery_name.img.
