Well guys, I have been a Samsung guy for my past 5 phones. I recently picked up a Evo LTE (I am on Sprint) and donated to someone to get me unlocked and rooted. Well yesterday I got an unlocked One X S720e all black. First off, am I in the right forum? Second, I have no skills with HTC devices. I will donate to someone if you can either PM me to proper threads or videos to root and unlock this beast or help me through the process. I see there are versions from several different countries and I don't know where to begin.

For a member with such a high post count and a thanks meter I’m surprised you asked such a simple question.
Anyway here is a video guide.
P.S: S720e is the international Tegra 3 variant, so you are in the correct forum.

the Nexus is still a great phone, and it will probably be getting Jellybean in 2 days. however it is not as good compared to the EVO 4G in terms of specs. its really upto you. try out the nexus and see what it is like for you and for the day to day activities you do with your phones.
Just seems like the Nexus has more dev support too

That's what the definition of what a "Nexus" is all about. Pure development
keep it! the only phone that can compete with this device will be the next and upcoming Nexus device

People can tell you all you want. But in the end it is ultimately your decision.
Conclude if you want it or not. No one is going to beg you to trade it or not to trade it.
Let's be honest.
You post this thread on Galaxy Nexus forums
- You get responses to trade it.. "get the galaxy nexus" (I myself included)
You post on this thread on EVO LTE forums.
- Tells you to keep it.... let me guess they told you not to... because of "specs"
Conclude for your own.... both phones are great.
Want the newest and latest in terms of software? Get the Galaxy Nexus. It'll always have the latest (unsure about its LTE variants because its controlled by carriers, but GSM version is free of that). Jelly Bean is around the corner, HTC will take awhile to update their phones.
Sure you can get custom ROMs but it's just not the same. Especially when it comes to open source drivers etc etc etc etc [read this on your own, not here to lecture about OTAs]

They do. They just have to be verified by the carrier. I'm not sure about Sprint but I know that the Verizon Nexus has to be approved.

Agreed. Personally I don't like sense but yes the Evo has better specs. My last phone was the epic with touchwiz which was OK but after running cm9 on that I'm very happy coming to the gnex. Really what's more important to you. But if someone tried to trade me for the evo I would definitely say no.

Make sure it has no screen problems.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Just verify if the screen is perfect , tint , scratch...
This is the only problem on this phone i got (returned 2 times) , first i got a problem with a line of dead pixels, and i got a problem with a magenta tint.
I got some problem with AOKP if u want to root: gps signal fail, 3G, H just crash every time.
This is a great phone, but HTC one X is better

The AOKP failure is probably due to user error, not the phones.

Idk if the att one x I have will work there so (after unlocked of course) and will I have to unlock the nexus for it to work there again thanks guys

Hi Guys
i own an HTC One X, and i could not be happier with it, but i was contemplating buying the padfone 2.
Sorry this might be the wrong section but there is no section for the padfone 2 at xda forum yet
the padfone 2 is up for grabs at ebay, but this device is for the Taiwanese market and comes with taiwanese manual
so my question is, if anyone has bought Taiwanese Asus devices before, does the device come with deep taiwanese localisations, or only the ability to chose taiwanese in the android language settings menu
i am trying to know whether setting the language to english will be enough, or will i be stuck with taiwanese software/localisations
also does anyone have experience in changing roms/CIDs for asus phones. can i change CID, will i be able to flash RUUs from a different region ? or maybe asus does not have the concpet of CIDs, you just unlock the bootloader and flash any rom you want ? thanks
yup wrong section
Best place for you're questions would be on the Padphone forums, not on the one x forums.

I won't help you, but I just did that. Selling HTC One X and Padfone 2 is already on the way to me. HTC One X was great, I got it on preorder so quite some time ago and got bored.
Also not sure if Padfone 2 has any XDA forum section setup yet, I can't seem to find it.

Ok, thanks again for directing me to the proper thread. Now I want the G2, the Galaxy Mega, or the Note III. Why the G2? It's the 4G advanced S4. The Mega.... well obviously I'm the type that can't afford to have a tablet and a phone simply because bills and no wifi atm.... The Note III I don't know I like it due to I loved the 2. What can be a deal breaker if there is no 2.5/6ghz (Clearwire LTE) connectivity, or no 800 lte. The Mega has mid-range specs compared to all phones listed above, its a bigger less powerful S4, not a phone I want to be with two years from now so I'll be fine with either the G2 or the Note III (depending on the LTE bands it supports)

i read that the G2 doesn't do SVDO or (the real deal killer) SVLTE, wassupwitdat?
CDMA1X, EV-DO, GSM, W-CDMA, and LTE all share the same transmit path, thus no SVDO nor SVLTE. Meh didnt care for it too much, it was nice when i had LTE when I was on the phone

I heard about the note 3. but haven't heard anything as of yet to make me want to run out and get it right when it drops on the market. unless I missed some of the specs?
Face it naddit. People make threads so people can look into them what's the point of us regular people having the option todo so we take it. This stickie ain't going to get no love just like all the others. People make the threads for a reason sure some are pointless yea. Some are interesting until people like you close the thread down. Its like the 4th thread I've seen closed by you in less than a week. Idc but would you like to get your threads locked?

Galaxy Note 3: Wolfson DAC & Apt-x support?
Hi
Sorry I did not post in the right section but could anyone could confirm if the Galaxy Note 3 (N9000) is equipped with the Wolfson DAC and supports Apt-X; I could not find the info out of all the news about its release.
Thanks a lot

Wow.. Sprint Note 3 possibly only to have 1900LTE...Not very future proof being stuck on 1900..May as well trade my One back to a Note 2 instead.

The same sources that used to give us leaks were able to sneak one nugget out.
The info from Samsung that was provided (a while ago) said this will have Tri-band support and VoLTE.
