What kernel and Rom u using??
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2

sounds like your phone thinks its charging from a usb and not ac when its charging from the mains open settings > power
under battery status it will say either not charging, charging (usb) or charging (AC).
if its saying usb then there is something wrong with the cable thats stopping it from showing s an AC adapter.

Have you tried a different adapter?
The cables could be fine, but your adapter/plug is defected.
Also, do as treebill said. Try checking in which mode (USB/AC/Not charging) your phone is recognizing as being charged.

I have exactly the same problem, I'm using official usb cable and adapter. I had tried other cables and adapters but same thing. My One X is not unlocked or rooted, and I'm with the last official rom 2.17.401.2 but it was happened and with previous rom 1.27.401.11. Even with switch off phone charging is very slow I try to restore my phone but nothing at all. Sometimes it's charge like it should but most of the time it's slow. Any suggestions or I have to go straight to repair center?

Ok.
Li ion batteries take 3-4 hours to charge. If its taking longer, there is huge current draw from the phone. Or, as you say, "no".

help me...

Are you REALLY sure your chargers aren't messed up?
I f**ed up the charger given with my One X(details below) and after that, my charger would only give me usb power instead of ac. I've been using this charger bundled with my Samsung P2 mp3 player that I got 4 years back.
We had gone on a trip where the room's fan rotation knob was missing, so the only thing I saw fit to change fan speed was fitting that tiny pin from the fan regulator in my AC Adapters usb port, which messed it up. Retarded I know, story of my life... -_-

Hey there, I faced the same problem. Having a blackberry Bold3, I tried recharging my OneX with the charger that came with it. BB charger charges my OneX WAY FASTER than the HTC charger that came with the phone. (1hour max for full charge) And battery holds an entire day too.

no one??

If you haven't rooted nor unlocked, and your phone was charging perfectly before, then I don't think it's a software issue.
It's either your charger or cable. If you have tried a different charger/cable that works well with other phones, then I guess you need to have your phone looked at.
Good luck

Not all USB cables or chargers are made the same.
I bought one micro usb cable that looked high quality but didn't charge at all when in use and charged very slowly when not in use.

Try on a different computer, maybe your computers USB ports are malfunctioning or the GNex overloads them when the phone is on?
Not sure what the problem is. I've tried two dfferent computers usb ports several different outlets and two different cables. The only time it truly charges is when I have it hooked up to my car charger
I'm having a similar problem with the GSM version. I had the original Galaxy S and had to replace it because over time it completely stopped charging no matter what cable I used. Is this an issue with Samsung phones? Now My Galaxy Nexus seems to only charge with certain cables and some cables that it originally worked with no longer charge it. I've tested the cables with other devices and they seem to work. I'm wondering if I should begin the lengthy process of shipping it off to the UK for warranty service. Anyone have a link to a tutorial on how to flash everything back to stock and relock the bootloader?

So today my Galaxy Nexus (GSM) has started doing the same as the OP. I did not charge at all last night on the charger. I turned it off. Took it downstairs to another charger and plugged it in and noticed that it was charging. I figured it just needed a reboot. I turned it back on and left if on the second charger and it quit charging. Now I've moved to a third charger and the same thing is happening....no charge except while turned off.
I don't think I have done anything to harm the phone--the only thing I've ever done to it is swap the battery to the larger version. I'll try to switch the battery back to the OEM when I get home from work to see if that makes a difference. In the mean time, does anyone have any ideas on this? The phone is only ~6 months old, would I be wrong to say that the warranty would take care of this? Thanks.

This is true, the outer pins on a USB are for charging, positive and negative. The inner two are data in, data out. At the very least, a cable will always have positive and negative, so all cables will charge unless there's a break in either positive or negative or both. If there's a break in data in or out, it should still charge but it won't communicate with a PC or something like that.
The issue OP is talking about sounds rom or kernel related. Nandroid > Try something else. Hope for the best.
I've noticed that on 4.1 my USB charging worked fine. Now that I am on 4.1.1 it still charges over USB, but at a decreased rate. In other words, before 4.1.1 it easily charged over night and now it will only charge to about 80%. Does anyone have any ideas why that might be?

Having the exact same problem, won't charge with the original adapter as well as spare adapters, also wont charge through USB. Car charger is the only thing charging it right now.
Explain further?
Could you explain further what you mean by "bent slightly toward the screen?" are you talking on the phone or on the cord? If on the cord, then the whole metal connector? Or just something inside.

[Q] Charging as USB even though I'm using the wall original wall charger

Hi!
I bought my GNII a week ago and phone is awesome!
The only problem is it takes soooooooooo long to charge. I didn't assume that something was wrong yet since it is new. After charging for the third time and it's still slow, I searched for answers but came back empty. So I'm here hoping somebody could help at least so that I could do everything on my end before contacting my provider.
Here are some information:
1. Charger that I am using is the stock charger that came along with the phone. USB cable and Original Charger.
2. Phone is not rooted.
3. When I plug it using the wall charger (USB cable + Original Charger) it is being detected as USB instead of AC.
Hope somebody could help.
Thanks!

will it charge like AC after flashing? Rooting it would be my last option since I just discovered it could charge as AC without rooting. The only problem is why it charges as USB on wall charger but AC on a UPS.

That kernel will charge at 900mA by default over a normal usb connection.
I flashed it rather that the sock kernel just for that reason, plus for me it gives improved battery life etc over the stock kernel. You can overclock also but I have no desire to do that with the Note 2 as its pleanty fast enough already.
Does anyone know off a kernel that actually has usb fast charging enabled in it ?

[Q] Very slow charging. why??

When i connect my galaxy note 2 to stock charger it shows that in my battery stats it's charging as USB not AC.
Well what's supposed to be the problem. is my charger broken or the usb port in my phone is damaged??
Are you using the stock charger with the stock USB cable? My note 2 was charging really slow until I realized that the USB extension cable I was using wasn't delivering enough juice.

Do you have another 2A charger/USB cable that you can test from? I use an HP Touchpad charger + cable because its 2A and has a long cable.
I just happen to experience the same thing. I have had my Note II for a couple of weeks now and it have always charged from almost empty to full in less than 2,5 hours. Today however, it's going really slow. I do not know why. I've tried everything I can think of. I juse only the stock charger. Also tried the Ipad charger - no luck. This seem to be a quite common problem.
Hmm, just as I thought, more and more of this should be coming in upcoming days. I lost two good night's sleep because of this. Anyway, this is what I have done and you guys SHOULD do.

I found a huge variance in charging rates based on a combination of chargers and cables. Goes to show that the cable makes a huge difference. Here's my findings:
** Stock Charger (2A):
w/Stock Cable (4-pin) - 1698
w/Cable from another phone (5-pin) - 1698
w/Cable from battery pack (5-pin)- 1698
w/generic eBay cable (4-pin)- 100! - It didn't charge at all, even with screen off.
** iPhone Charger (1A):
w/Stock Cable (4-pin) - 1300
w/Cable from another phone (5-pin) - 1100
w/Cable from battery pack (5-pin) - 1300
w/generic eBay cable (4-pin) - 100!
** Car Charger (1A):
w/another generic eBay cable - 490

[Q] [HELP] Won't charge?

Hello all,
My R800i won't charge anymore, doesn't matter how long it has been charging, the battery seems to not charge anything up. This all happened when I was sleeping and woke up. I noticed that the alarm of my R800i didn't go off so I wondered what it could be. To my surprise I saw that the battery was empty to 0%.
But when I plug it into my laptop there comes a notification in the trend that something connected via the USB requires a higher voltage outlet than the USB port can give. That means it does detect the R800i, but that I need a charger with a higher voltage? That wouldn't make any sense because prior to this problem charging with my laptop was just fine.
Please I need help and fast!
My guess you need new charger. Try on some other charger first. Problem with laptop is that it's usb ports can give only 500mA, and since your battery is empty, you need more.
Also, try another usb cable.
In worst case, it's battery's fault.

It's not insane, but be carefull. Battery can be charged that way, but it also can be overcharged (when battery voltage get over 4.2V)
So don't charge ut that way too long. Few minutes, and put it back in phone to be properly charged (phone will charge it normally if battery is not dead and above 3.2V)
If you have voltmeter, even better

Latest OTA draining battery while charging?

I've noticed ever since the latest update, two HTC ones that I have are charging very slow.
I.e. if using GPS/navigation my car charger cannot keep the battery charged or when just using the phone itself. (Not while driving if course)
When on the previous OTA update it was fine. Yes they charge in AC mode. And the charger I have is rated for output at 2 amps just like my home charger which is fine.
Anyone else having this issue?

thats because your max output on the car is 500mA and that is not enought to run the phone and charge at the same time. Even if the charger is rated at 2amps the phone wont know and default to USB charging speeds.
To test this go to the battery and see if it says AC or USB:
USB max is 500mA
AC max is 2A
even thought the charger says it can do more, the phone doesnt know that unless the data pins for transfer of data are shorted indicating the phone is allowed to do AC charging.
EDIT:
More info on how to hack it to force AC charging:

That's the thing it does charge in A/C mode, not USB.
Which is odd, it only started after the last update in May, and its happening across two identical HTC Ones. Both are s-off boot loader unlocked running same version/software etc...
Basically it charges in the A/C current but is dying during charging

its been one of those weeks. i was looking at the OP.
Happening to two phones? Bad charger, go get a new one. Or test it if you are unsure, hook up a meter and check it out. But two phones losing charge while in AC mode on the same car charger screams "bad charger" to me.
Edit - Also, assuming your household charger works fine - and that is AC mode charging also, it pretty much narrows the culprit down to that charger being bad. If it was a rom issue it would be duplicating the issue on any charger it saw as AC.
If I recall you will get a "Slow Charging" notification if you're charging with less than 500mA. If you're seeing that notification then you're more than likely going to struggle to use GPS while charging at that rate.(It would take nearly 5 hours to fully charge that phone with it off using such a low amount of current)
