Your question is a little confusing. So you want to use a slower data connection to watch streaming HD videos via YouTube? OK...well CM10 has an option to use only 2G networks. Then check the option in YouTube to use high quality on mobile. I doubt you'll be able to stream fast enough for HD however. Or the new YouTube updates allow you to preload your subscriptions while charging and on WiFi to watch later even without a data connection. Otherwise, I have no idea...

question about tethering and witch kernal................

When I tether my phone to my computer it works great. I get kicked off when I go to utube while watching HD videos. Well it doesn't kick me off it starts to buffer. can I get a kernal that would allow me to watch HD on utube?

It's not really the kernel you are having trouble with as much as the 3g speeds..... 3g is bad for streaming videos it works when it wants to lol.... there is a lot more data to process when using hd and 3g just can't keep up

So 4g would be alot better then. thank you for your reply

YouTube Video Quality

With the mobile youtube app, video quality is amazing when you are on wifi. When on the mobile network, even on high quality, there is a hint of graininess in the video. Would there be anyway to you keep the hd quality over mobile network. If you want to see for yourself go to an hd video while on wifi then watch it on mobile network and make sure that you have pre caching off.

Only on 4g you will never load an hd video with 3g it will take you years to load lol

Well I get 1.5 to 2mbps download where I live. I would think that would be good enough for hd video.

What do you currently use? Any app that streams will have to buffer at some point, especially if the signal in your area isn't strong. I use Netflix, HBO Go and YouTube.
TV portal has worked pretty well for me. You can download the APK from their Facebook here:
https://www.facebook.com/TVPortalApp
Using XBMC with 1 channel and Icefilms. Any stream will buffer. Depends on the source providing the stream and your connection.

isn't that for outside the USA? I'm assuming this refers to USTVNow. It only gives five channels free--Fox, NBC, CBS, ABC, and PBS. All those channels are rebroadcasts from Philly.
You will need to download Aptoide to get the app but T.V. portal gives you access to so many movies and shows.

Yes, get T.V. Portal. I whole-heartedly endorse that app.
actually MobiTV is on the Sprint GN2. It's just Sprint TV; see link from MobiTV.com: Linky
Not all of it is free, but you get a couple channels--ABC Mobile TV, ESPN Mobile, Disney, Live Sports Calender, NBC Sport Mobile. You have to subscribe to get other channels. No HDMI output either.
Thanks, I have xbmc but was looking for live tv, like sprintv, as im on boost. Unless there is a way to get it to work?

I wish. Google changed how Google Play loads and verifies what market your device is linked to. So things like MarketEnabler are no longer working. Otherwise, I would say give that a go.
I know of other apps you can use for live TV, but they're all based outside the USA. They're use to use if use a VPN since they're all IP based such as BBC's media player, USATVNow, CatchupTV. Nevermind what you can access with Flash Player and a compatible browser such as Boat Player.
Xbmc...

YouTube app

There is a buffering problem when watching videos. The video plays for about 8 secs and then buffers. This process repeats throughout the video. Any help? :/

I don't have any buffering problems with my N7 at all. Are you sure it's not your internet? Have u try running a speed test?

Maybe use the Clean Sweep app and SD Maid to clean things up. It can make a huge difference especially if your storage is getting full.
