I want this. Please.
You'll find FlyMe very polished, but quite different to 'regular' Android.
I daily-drove an MX for a few months. Lovely phone, the styling and finishing touches are second-to-none. It it a beautiful OS, everything is styled perfectly and has a ridiculously high-quality feel to it.
The biggest departure from AOSP is that there's no App Drawer. All your apps are spread across homescreens, and removing them from the screen deletes the app entirely. This is a throwback to iOS (the MX attempts to emulate the iPhone 4).
It's nice to look at, but in actual use it leaves a bit to be desired. Thankfully AOSP was released for the MX so it was easy enough to switch. It attempts to emulate iOS though, and does it pretty well.
I'd love to see this ported to another Android device, as it's easily the most beautiful and simple interface I've used.
Looks similar to MIUI.

Couldn't you just throw a 3rd party launcher like apex or nova to get the app drawer? Or would that defeat the purpose of this type of rom

Absolutely, that's exactly what I did (LauncherPro). There were only three things that irked me about the MX:
1) The lack of App Drawer (solved with another Launcher, as you say)
2) The silly lack of punctuation evident on the main keyboard, with no easy way to include it mid-sentence (solved with another Keyboard)
3) The hard-coded 320 DPI lockscreen, dialler and other elements, which break at anything other than 320 DPI. It's comically big, so I like to dial it down to 240 but it broke these couple of things. ExDialler fixed the dialler, but the lockscreen becomes a jumbled mess.
These few things can be fixed by replacement, but you're basically defeating the point of FlyMe. Still, the MX hardware alone was worth the cost - superb little phone.

If You Have Suggestions please post them here. Also I am putting the finishing touches on this rom. I will release once I get approval from some devs that I borrowed som images from.
I dunno, it kinda just looks like a themed Sense ROM. I'm sure people will like it though so you should just post it up in development and see what happens.
Man...this is nice! can't to give it a try
Post it up

If you want you could share the setup for others if they want it, because it is heavily themed for a sense rom.
It would be better if you wanted to share a theme rather than a rom.

Suprisingly its about 175 mb
What else is there to this ROM? Zip-align, optimized apps, optimized launcher, custom kernel, Hulu, Updater app, etc. Cause like what everyone else said, it just looks like a theme.
Like what someone else said before, it might be better off just putting the theme up and offering up a ton of mods and customizations.

What he said.
In the long run it might be easier to just release a theme. That way you don't have to take all of the time to fix broken things and what not. Unless of course you really dedicate the time, in which case have at it!
I'm not trying to say its not impressive. It looks great. There are a ton of themes out there and I'm sure there are a lot of people who are interested in another theme. ROMs generally have something about them beside visual modifications.

+1, Looks pretty, but what's under the hood?
Just added a bunch of mods including,
Remaped search button to be used as a camera button
removed data throttling
optimized apps
A lot of battery saving stuff
and a couple more i forgot
It looks like it has a lot of potential! Keep working on it There are a lot of different good Roms out there so you have to kinda step it up to set it apart from the others. but good job
i have to say the images of this rom look AWESOME!!!!!! if it becomes a stable rom when released for every day use. i would highly consider checking this out
but if i can say a IDEA. change the keyboard a little. reminds me of myn's warm keyboard which i didn't like. a dark blue keyboard would look great or the same style you got now but but add like kinda dark blue lines to show how big the keys are for each letter/symbol.
I've Finished Theming the rom. Just need to add some mods and I'll be done.
I really like the blue rosie. Can you make an update file for that??? I dont know if thats possible, but would love to put that on my phone instead of the standard green
Great work
Id rock that s%it!! All day!!
Hell yea bro......looks sick.......
Have you considered making a 4x5 layout version if this theme? 4 columns by 5 rows. A lot of devs and themers are making 4x5 version layouts. The 4x5 layout is the only version some devs use in their roms. Just a thought. Either way great work and thanks for the contribution.

Nope that's the Honeycomb(-look) lockscreen.
Sense 3.0 lockscreen is like this:
You drag the silver hoop out of the bottom.
That's more like Honeycomb.
The Sense stuff can't be ported as easily as that. Too much is Rosie dependant. E.g. the Sense 3.0 lockscreen has shortcuts to dialer, camera and some other random stuff. In short, it's not going to happen, unless someone wants to do a full port which is being worked on but I wouldnt hold my breath.
If you want a Sense 3.0 lockscreen, but a Sensation/Pyramid.
I'm sure someone could make a lockscreen where you drag the silver hoop out of the bottom to unlock the device, and a simple clock/weather above that but that sorta destroys the point of the lockscreen (the 'active' part).
Without the sense framework in place I don't think we'll be able to get anything more than the above (look without the function).
To be fair it does look pretty cool, so if anyone does make a lockscreen like what I just described I'm sure plenty would still like/use it

But it's not really that good either. I find Tw totally underwhelming. It's also very uncustomizable. Which is a pain because the icon dock is too damn big and the app draw sucks big time.
Also the lock screen is horrendous. Compared to sense 3.0 it's just sad.

It's really a matter of personal choice.
If looks of the interface is more important for you rather than the hardware and performance then you might as well buy the Sensation.

Well actually that influence performance too... from sense lockscreen you can call the camera without additional clicks so you can draw a photo immediately or going directly to the dialer...
A non paginated drawer is faster when you have to scroll hundreds apps... but as you said is a matter of personal choices

Ok. So i've searched and searched but can't find it. Is there a way to get htc sense off of an android phone and install it on the xdandroid build?
You can't because Sense is so interwoven into the phone that it would be a huge chore to even get it out and even if you did get it out, it would seriously be buggy as hell.
Sent from my Infused V2 powered smartass phone yo
ah figured as much. Thanks for the quick reply. I'll try extracting it from my htc evo. if i get it working properly i'll release it here.
Technicall you can as it has been done in the past but the skin slows the phone down quite a lot.
dont bother. I had the froyo version of sense running and it is so slow you will want to shoot yourself. The only way it became usable is if you completely remove everything from each window.
Also sense is so massive it never fit on nand. We had to break it up into pieces where the core was installed on nand and apps had to be on the sdcard.
I used the version that came with the Evo, but i think the desire is probably a better candidate. Best of luck, maybe i was too impatient but some peeps like Wozzer mentioned that you can compress the hell out of the images to help with the bulk. Never went that far.
Hmmm I'll give up on it for now. After playing with the evo...I hate sense. Its ugly. Looks like winmo but without the crappyness factor. I'll stick to adw for now
Sent from my MSM using XDA App
yeah. The sense that came with the evo originally was hideous. And i was shocked to see the winmo version actually being smoother when it came to the weather animation. I know the newer sense builds are nicer but they are just so big. You are looking at 250mb system partition at least for those bad boys.
If you are looking for some nice Sense like animation there are a couple of threads here you can use which will give you that.
arrrghhh posted the Live Wallpapers thread
Enabling this will certainly slow your phone down so you need to go to another thread which arrrghhh put together on Speed Improvements.
I am currently running the following speed improvements and I have some nice fairly smooth animation... Performance of the phone is much better too...
Topic 3 - SD-Booster (cache set to 8192 on 8GB SD)
Topic 4 - Overclocking (650Mhz)
Topic 5 - Turbo Charger (Aggressive 1)
Topic 6 - Manage Apps on Boot (Just the pm disable arrrghhh shows)
i already have speed improvements using arrrghhhs methods. im not looking for live walpapers i was lookin for a nice sense for the xdandroid build lol
to acl- i agree. my evo isnt activated anymore (dont ask why) but i did notice stock sense was smoother. now i run max sense which is a little buggy but still better. xdandroid is awesome i think i will just stick to that. thanks

Basically you can use 2 windows side by side like watch a video and browse the net......ergo a true multitasking system.
Our nexus 7 has a bigger screen real estate and the only limiting factor i see is the availability of 1GB of RAM.But if anyone can make it work, then it is the devs.
So if any dev is Interested.....here is a link to a thread where the op has found all the goodies required for this port on the original note(the work there has just begun ::silly

Tablets are big. Smartphone apps are small. This would seem to present an obvious answer to the many, many Android apps that scale up to massive resolutions instead of adjusting their total user interface Ice Cream Sandwich-style. But no, apps form unconcerned or merely oblivious developers continue to scale up, as if someone ran over an Android smartphone with a steamroller. Enter Cornerstone, a method for managing windows of apps on Android, jut like on Linux, OS X and, uh, Windows.

I'm surprised there's no aosp project like this already. I'm sure it relies heavily on the touchwiz framework so it probably can't be ported.
I've been using popup browser which works pretty well. I'd definitely love to see this feature though.
This and the Quick Apps feature is amazing.
The original Transformer had ported over the Quick Apps feature. The dev is gone and I haven't see it since. The multipane solution would ease multitasking with work projects.

Hello! I'm a designer who loves Metro. I'm tired of seeing the lackluster Metro app design currently plaguing the Windows Store. While there are some fantastic designs, many apps are just boring or don't fit in well with the Metro design language.
I'm here to help. I'm offering my design skills at no cost, all I ask for is one line of credit in the app's About page.
This is my first design. It's a complete GUI for Instapaper. It's very clean, modern, and most certainly Metro. It's extremely simplistic, but still has everything you could want from an Instapaper app. This app rivals even the official Android and iOS Instapaper apps. The design is based around the Bing News app and the People app. If you're interested in developing this app, I feel you could charge at least $3 in the Store, and make a good profit, which I would want no part of.
Below are some images. I have PSDs of every interface from the log in to creating a new folder. If you're seriously interested in developing this app, either send me a message or post below.

Aaaagh... don't quote huge OPs like that, please! Just hit Quick Reply and don't use the "Quote message in reply?" option. It just makes the page really long and makes it hard to find the breaks between posts...
To the OP: looks very nice. I hope you find a dev to work with. A few things to keep in mind:
1) Different resolutions, and scaling between them. What looks great on the Surface's 1366x768 will look pretty bad on my desktop's 2560x1440.
2) Different aspect ratios. Tablets in particular are sometimes used in portrait aspect ratio. It would be great to have a good UI for using the app like that too; not enough Store apps handle that well.
3) Snapping the app to one side or the other. This makes it much thinner and also removes the ability to open the App Bar (right-click or swipe in from top/bottom) and Charms bar for that app, so if it's going to be useful in the snapped view it should offer the most critical controls directly to the user in this interface. Skype, Xbox Music, and even Mail do decent jobs of this, although they aren't necessarily pretty.

I do have designs for every view/position (I haven't done anything about scalability, but I have ideas on how to work with that). I only posted the two main views in dark/light varients to make sure people could get a good solid understand of how it will work and function. I have PSD's for almost everything that's needed. I've found someone who says they'd like to work on it.

You should undertake overhauling a well known open source windows software. Most of them dont have a metro counterpart. Just pick anything, i can see you have a pretty functional design understanding.
