Timer app kills the battery - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

When I use the Sony Timer app, it murders my battery. Like, as if I'm tethering and I have the screen on full brightness.
1) WTF. Seriously.
2) Anyone else having this problem?
3) Any recommendations for a good timer app to replace it? I like that their app keeps the time updated in the notification shade. I haven't seen any ohters that do that.

My phone went from 83 to 64 just because of cell standby. I assume I have a ton of wake locks from my alarm app/weather app/ 4g since I see my signal go from full to 2 and buck up once in a while. May just hold it on 3g
Edit- I just looked back I'm at 43% with 14 hours off the charger so that seems OK, but 20% over night isn't good

What "timer" app from Sony? The clock/alarm app?
Sent from my LT28at

You can use Stopwatch & Timer ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sportstracklive.stopwatch&hl=en)
The time shows in the notification bar as well...

Yeah. Open it up, go to the Timer tab, set a timer for an hour, let it run and don't turn on the screen or use your phone or anything and watch your battery get thrashed. It's ridiculous.

Ah, I have the Hong Kong generic version. Well, in this case you're not missing anything aside from a new way to kill the battery.

[APP] 3 Must have apps! (Light Manager, S-pen Gesture, Pop-up browser)

No credit, just found these on the note forum, and thought they were amazing so I'm sharing them here!
Light Manager (Control the LED Notification, simple, easy on the battery. Will upload a picture with the color settings I use as the defaults are not set for our phones.)
Pop-up Browser Invoker - Toss this in your Multiscreen bar, and you can always pop a mini browser up!
[ROOT] BEST APP EVER! I was looking for a way to add a simple Home gesture to the built in commands that the S-Pen has. (Hold button, draw arrow or line) This app will let you set up much better gesture support!
GMD S-Pen Control
Added picture of settings for light manager. Well tried to but the app won't let me. Will try posting a new comment with the pic.
Yeah, I used lightmanager for a couple minutes and was happy that it appears to be our note2 friendly version of lightflow. However that notification in the status bar is way over the rop. Have you found a way to get rid of it?

Hey, first check that that the colors are actually different. Mine has almost exactly the same color as SMS. If it's just not going off at all then please direct your question to the th re ead linked in the OP. I just found these apps, I'm not the dev hehe.

Autoreply calls !!

Hello everyone
My note 2 auto replies the incoming calls. The first time happened I thought someone has answered the call while I was away. The second time I was there & it spontaneously answered the incoming call.
Both times the phone was on both ringing & vibration.
Is there any fix or explanation to this problem?

Check your settings to see if answer by voice is enabled.
Do this by launching the stock 'Music Player' app. Then drag down the notification bar. Select the music player notification

Thnx for your help ... I've checked both points you've mentioned and they are disabled.
It occurred again today while I was in the car. The phone just auto answered again !! Later I made an experiment, I called my cell phone from another phone and while i was holding it in my hand it also auto answered !!!!!
Should I update the software? or this is a technical problem??

Facebook showing GPS usage when it's disabled (4.2.1)?

Why does the GPS area in the screenshot show over 90 minutes of usage when I have GPS turned off? Any ideas?

Facebook has been long known to be a poorly coded app (even the newest version) I've stuck to using the browser only because it's so buggy. I'd chalk it up to that...
Turn location off inside settings of app.

The lastest build of their app is by far the worst I have used personally. Someone posted an older build which does not have as many features, but it is way less buggy.
LMK if you want a link.

That's exactly what was happening with my phone. I've been using the app that dschreiber69 provided earlier in this thread, but because Facebook eats so much battery on this phone I haven't been using it much anymore. Furthermore, I haven't been using Facebook much on either my phone or a computer. I'm getting sick of it, same crap every day. Nothing new. Blah.

[Q] Alarm notification in top bar

Hi,
I use the standard alarm on my Galaxy S3 to wake me up in the morning.
When it goes off I usually just press a button on the side to turn it off. Since a few days, after I've done this there is a notification in the top bar, and a message when I swipe it down. (see screenshot below ) The message reads (mine is in Dutch): "Alarm - You can stop alarms or put them in hiberna.." where I suppose the rest would be "...te by going into settings.." or something.
The annoying thing is this message is a permanent notification and it isn't possible to swipe the message away or I haven't found a way to turn it off. The only way is to reboot the device. Not too much trouble, but kinda trivial to have to do this every day just to get rid of a notification
The phone just recently started doing this, so I'm guessing it came in with a recent update or something.
Any help would be appreciated!
Dries

Thank you for the reply!
It won't let me uncheck the box, but you did gave me a way to get rid of the notification; as I can "force close" the app. I then have to remember to start it back up, otherwise I won't wake up on time the next day
If there's any more help, I'd be glad to hear it!
I honestly think the best solution is to find a better app. I'd recommend Alarm Clock Plus. There's a free version you can try.

I just installed it. Thanks for the help!
I've never seen this one before.
I would clear data for it and see if it continues, but it looks like you installed another alarm app. I personally am using Timely now. I like the compatibility between TW and AOSP ROMs, the syncing feature, etc.
I would freeze the stock clock app if you're not using it anymore. Wakelocks you don't need.

[Q] how to fix this problem !?

the ICS v20f is a good rom for gaming and for daily use but this rom turn off my wifi when the screen was locked, and i dont like this because ever need turn 3G/4G activated.. awesome here have an solution for fix this problem? (i know that is a original config of v20f, but i want disable)

It should be an easy fix. Has something to do with WiFiScanSupplicant line in the build.prop file. Download an editor from the play store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.apps.build.prop.editor and change the following:

Should be lower....20 is the factory setting so start there. Are you rebooting the phone afterward? For me I find 80 is the best value for me, but it can be as high as 180.
... also are you using an app like Juice Defender to manage power? If you are that will also have that effect.
