Hi, fairly new to the Roms/Themes for my Verizon GNex. I am currently running the Codename Android 3.4.1 ROM and was wondering how I go about applying this theme to it. I downloaded the APK and installed it. I see it in the Themes in the settings but when I try to apply it it says my device is missing assets for the screen size. Just wondering what I might be doing wrong.

Choose system theme n then reboot your phone and then again go to theme chooser and choose your desired one :thumbup:

Ok, I rebooted then went into Settings and clicked on Thems. I scrolled over and hit the Apply button and got 'Theme Error' Sorry, this theme is missing assets for your device;s screen size with two choices - Bummer and Apply Anyway. Do I hit Apply Anyway?

Yes, hit apply anyway. You only need to do the whole reboot thing if you get the 'improperly compiled error". The theme engine still runs on froyo code, so it's very dated. Unless you run the awesome BAMF paradigm, which has been completely rewritten to not have these errors.

-download, install, and select in theme chooser. I RECOMMEND A REBOOT afterward to make sure it all themes properly. (especially if coming from another theme)

It's currently for any xhdpi device with access to the theme chooser (aokp, cm9, gummy, blackICE, etc)
Very soon, hdpi support will come online, but i'll need some beta testers.

It's a known bug in theme chooser. I updated the OP with instructions to help avoid the confusion.

Its finally here! Ghost for the theme chooser!
Well, pretty much. This is still an early build, and by no means finished, but it is a great start. And I'm happy to bring it to you guys and gals.
It is accomplished with a small add on zip that takes care of a lit of the edits that theme Chooser just can't do. That is why it is still ROM dependant. I will work to include more roms as this progresses.
Reminder this is AOKP build 40 only, at this time!

Would be easier to just use a zip for this whole theme instead of having to flash the add on zip then apply theme chooser apk then flash back to stock to change themes again.Not complaining just don't see the point in having to do both when you may as well flash the whole thing.

Only suggestion would be to rid the extra bulk of the hdpi folders they are unnecessary unless that app only uses hdpi like the framework has multiple versions xhdpi,hdpi,mdpi etc but hdpi is unecessary as xhdpi and hdpi and mdpi will conform and be used the same way and it wont look bad. Like my epic 4g is hdpi but my theme is xhdpi only.. but it works and looks just fine. Just an FYI to keep the size of the apk down. Only use hdpi as it proves to be necessary for alternate apps that only use that folder resource for their icon such as Terminal Emulator and the like. Other than that i would also go through and make the horid yellow red too but its a nice start .

I just tried it out and it looks pretty good. I still have a lot of blue in the dialer, app/widget drawer, the overscroll effect in settings and the clock (I don't mind the clock still being blue though)
I was also kinda hoping the softkeys would be themed as well.
It looks great so far though! One of the best red themes I've tried so far.

In preparation for Assassins Creed 3, I made these soft keys for myself, but then I thought "Why should I be the only one to use these?"
This will work on any rom which has support for custom navigation bar icons. Ex.Codename(Android), AOKP, etc

All icons are pngs, so they all retain their transparency

In Paranoid Android, there are settings for the navigation bar, but nothing to let me change the actual key image. I'm not sure if I just haven't found the settings yet, or if they don't exist. But either way, got any helpful information for me using these kickass keys?

I haven't used Paranoid Android myself, but from what I have heard it doesnt have the option to change softkey images. I know for a fact that AOKP and Codename(Android) have these options, Maybe try out those?

Can you make one without the status bar icons themed or just purple instead of JB blue? Or a zip to revert them would be just as good.

Updated MMS and black text is white!) I love this theme. Very pro looking. Great job. Blue is my least favorite but still super nice so I buy anyways cuz I've got all your others!) Thanks

I like the look of the theme and when i tried choosing this in the theme choose on my aokp milestone 1 rom i get "this theme was improperly compiled and cannot be applied. please report this incident to the theme author."
uhh what? lol i tried installing twice and it installs fine but something else is wrong? is it not compatible with aokp?

I get this error with EVERY single theme I try to install! No matter how many times I apply "system" theme and reboot, I get the compile error!
Any idea what else I can do to try and fix the problem?
Running Paranoid Android 2.50 with Dori 7.4 kernel.
EDIT: Fixed with Dev's help!

Just a tip for when you upload new themes: when you're waiting for it to show up in the play store, go to the listing of another theme and change the package name in the URL to the one you're waiting for. Sometimes it will take you to the listing before it appears automatically.
