Data Switcher is a simple app that will automatically enable/disable your mobile data connection at user set intervals. The main purpose of this app is to conserve battery by disabling your data connection while the phone is in STANDBY. I have seen around 50-60% decrease in battery drainage per hour(Used to drain at 8-10% per hour, now it's about 1-3% per hour). Results may differ based on data signal.
FEATURES:
- Custom time intervals
- Data Switcher is disabled if charging
- Option to control switching of WiFi
- Log support
- Screen on prompt
- Manual toggle to disable/enable data
NOTES:
- "DS On/Off" toggle - Enables/Disables Data Switcher
- "Log On/Off" toggle - Enables/Disabled Logging. (Log file stored on SD. Filename is "DataSwitcherLog.txt")
- "Data On/Off" toggle - Manually Enable/Disable Data
- "Prompt On/Off" toggle - When On, if Data is OFF when turning phone back on, you will be asked if you would like to turn data ON
- "WiFi Control On/Off" toggle - When On, Data Switcher will control WiFi as well, using the set time intervals.
- "Start Time" - The amount of time before data is disabled AFTER the phone goes into standby
- "Off Cycle Time" - The amount of time to leave data disabled before it will turn back on
- "On Cycle Time" - The amount of time to leave data enabled after "Off Cycle Time" has hit(Check in time)

CHANGELOG:
v2.0
- UI Changes
- Added "WiFi Control". Data Switcher can now control switching of WiFi.
- Data Switcher will NOT attempt to "Check In" if there is No Service.
- Data Switcher will automatically be disabled if there is a headset plugged in. This is to prevent Data from switching off in the case you are streaming audio.
How does this app compare to Juice defender? I currently use that app and sometimes find it slow and laggy. It is sometimes slow to restore data when turning screen on. Just a thought. Thanks for your help !

I've never used juice defender, but on my s2, enabling data is almost instant.

While I own an international unlocked version of the S2, i assume the Sprint version must be very similar. After countless hours of trying to figure it out, this is what i discovered and solved my battery draining issue (it's been two months with no problems at all) i get 4 to 5 hrs display time and it lasts me all day. I was on stock 2.3.3 and recently upgraded to 2.3.4. with same results. The following tips are things i did prior to rooting, and they solved my battery drain issue.
1. Anything that tracks location is a battery drainer and i discovered that i was using wireless networks for location (it's also not that accurate) and it was the biggest culprit, so i disabled it and now i use gps (more accurate) as needed and turn it off when done. If you use Google maps with google latitude enabled, sign out of latitude when done using it.
2. App killers use more battery than saving it by closing apps and processes that run in backgroung that will automatically open right back again. Stay away from them.
3. Some apps if left in memory will constantly cause cpu spikes (suspend and events/0), in my case it was Facebook and Xfinity apps. So i close all active apps in task manager. Don't really clear ram, just close active apps.
4. Use Watchdog from Market to track any apps that might be using a lot of cpu.
5.Enabling Back up my data also drained my battery, so i disable it.
Hopes this helps...

While I can't state for certain that it's causing any extra battery drain, Carrier IQ is hooking into the location service, and every time your location changes, grokking your latitude, longitude, accuracy, and a timestamp. This is new to the Epic Touch.
I constantly have alerts for suspend and event/0 in watchdog. In the stock task manager there really isnt much running to kill. It's driving me nuts. haha My battery life isnt horrible but I think it could be better..

Hello!
Is there any program where I can a Pin a tile to the start screen and directly turn on and off WiFi and Data connection?
Also a tile to directly adjust the screen timeout would be great.
All programs I find just jump to the wiFi oder Data connection screen.
Thank you very much in advance.
Best regards
Daniel
Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1463444
You have to have unlocked device.
Quick Launch (Ultrashot) is a good application to switch ON/OFF Wifi, Data, Bluethoot, etc in same screen page
Your device must be Full-Unlock
Try this no need to unlock

Hello!
Thanks for the answers.
@Budniu: The app is not bad, but have to touch the screen 2 times and the tile don´t show you the status of WiFi.
@plolche: I can not find a download for that app.
@hunkyn: This is exactly what I don´t want. This app just links to the settings page of WiFi, Data conection, .... "Battery saver" is the same but the live tiles are much more nice.
I´m looking for a app like "battery saver".
With nice live tiles wich show you the status of WiFi, Data connection, ...
But I want to turn on or off the WiFi,... with just touching the tile. Without getting redirected to the settings page.
Thank you very much!

Hi,
Does this app work for a full rooted LG optimus 7 ?
I would like to try it.

it's the latest release of Quick Menu cooked in my custom rom
Big Thankx to Windows Phone Underground Community...
... specially to ultrashot
@poloche: The app is really nice. Almost what I´m looking for.
Thank you very much!
If I could pin WiFi, Data connection,... to The start screen and just turn it off an on with just touching the tile would be great.
It would be also great if the live tile would show the status.
Here are some pics of battery saver.
But "battery saver" just redirect you to the settings page of WiFi, Data connection, ...!
Here are also pictures of Android system which can do exactly what I want.

Hello!
I am experiencing, what I believe, some kind of battery drain on my S20. I'm sure you have heard it all before. The thing is, that it doesn't seem to go to deep sleep. I use Naptime to make it go to Light Sleep (Doze), but it never enters Deep Sleep.
The phone is new, but I used Samsung Smart Switch to copy all my stuff from S10e.
I've tried all the tricks, including:
Putting rouge apps to sleep/optimize and prevent background activity
Generally restarting my phone
Wiping partition cache
Used Samsungs Reset Setting (not factory reset), to reset all settings to their defaults, Reset Network Settings and Reset Accessibility Settings
Disabled and removed alot of Samsung packages (such as bixby)
I have tried to gather data from GSAM Battery monitor:
GSam Labs - Battery Monitor - Export Data

Hi
I would suggest you do a full system wipe then manually install the apps you need.
in the end run you will save time AND lower your battery usage.
Troubleshooting wakelocks is not always easy.
Good Luck!

Hello everyone, I put a small tutorial to maximize the battery life of our Oneplus 8 Pro. As I describe, I have my unit configured.
If you want you can go reporting in the thread what results your terminals now show you with this configuration. I haven't done any bloatware, just uninstall Facebook and Instagram. Greetings.
1.- DEACTIVATE AUTOMATIC UPDATES.
In this way we will avoid that the mobile is constantly looking for updates and therefore consuming battery.
1.1- We go to the Play Store and in Settings / General / Automatically update applications, we mark "do not update applications automatically".
1.2- Once this is done, we go to the Oxygen OS updates. We follow the path Settings / System / System Updates, we give the little wheel that is at the top right and deactivate “Automatic download in Wifi”.
2.- DEACTIVATE THE WIFI ASSISTANT.
This option allows the mobile to automatically change the network, without us having to be aware of it, but it uses the battery unnecessarily. We are going to configure it to do it manually.
We follow the route Adjustment / Wifi and Mobile Networks / Wifi / Wifi Preferences / Inside we go and deactivate “Select the best Wifi network intelligently”.
3.-DEACTIVATE THE PRINTING SERVICES.
We have these services to connect to printers active all the time and the phone will be constantly looking for printers so that we can connect.
We go to Settings / Bluetooth and device connection / Printing / Default printing services, when pressing it it opens, once inside we deactivate it, we will see that on the screen below, we have a red bar with a text that says "searching for printers" This way we prevent it from being in constant search.
4.- DEACTIVATE EXPERIENCE IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMS.
We follow the route Settings / System / Experience improvement programs and deactivate the first three options:
“Oneplus Notifications”, “User Experience Program” and “System Stability Program”.
5.- BATTERY OPTIMIZATION.
We follow the route Adjustment / Battery / Battery optimization. Click on the three dots on the top right and Advanced Optimization will appear. Once inside we will activate the three options that we find, "Activate adaptive battery", "Optimization of standby at rest" and "Optimize energy consumption of applications".
6.- OPTIMIZATION OF THE GOOGLE ACCOUNT.
We go into Settings, select Accounts and inside we go to the Google account and open it, once inside we choose "Synchronization", we deactivate the following options:
Google Fit data / People data / Drive / Google Play Movies / Save Play Games in the cloud / Tasks in Calendar.
If you use any of these options, do not deactivate it or if you do not use any of the others, deactivate it.
In addition to the above settings I also have the following:
Display, FHD + resolution, dark mode, manual brightness at 85-90%, touch sounds, screen lock sounds, capture sounds, keyboard sounds, all off, vibration off.
In Developer Options:
"Registry Buffer Size", I have it set to 1Mb.
Window Animation Level / Transitions Animation Level / Transitions Duration Level. All three are by default at 1x, I lowered all three to 0.5x.
