HTC One V vs Aralon: Sword and Shadow HD - HTC One V

It's a problematic game... I've tried almost everything: from installing it normally to copying it to data/app and changing permission and it won't work... when I'm installing it I'm getting "Application is not installed" and when I'm changing permissions and reboot phone, it won't start
Maybe somebody have solution how to run this game?

[Q] Problems downloading some apps on CM7

I recently upgraded to CM7. I love this version of Cyanogen but I have one problem with downloading several apps from the market. For example Firefox. When I want to download this app, I get the download icon in the top left corner for about 0.5 seconds.
I wiped my phone before
Offcourse I searched the interweb for a solution, but wiping market cache and logging in to Google Talk didn't help. Anyone know about this issue? I can't stand it that I cannot download apps from the market.
No one knows any solution?
Reinstalling the Market sometimes resolves the issue
Google for market.apk
I tried to install the market APK file but my phone tells me that the app isn't installed.
Install s2e from the market. Open it, select download cache and confirm the operation. The device will reboot and afterward you will be fine

Hi I'm new to XDA and had the problem mentioned above. Also, some apps such as Angry Birds (the horror!) will not appear in the market, however Angry Birds Rio does. Even after trying your method of s2e the problem still occurs. The when trying to download the Rio version, it pops up with "Starting Download /-/-/-/-/-/-/-/" for 1 second, then goes away again.
On the desktop market it says "Angry Birds is not available to your device because of content filters" or something-does this mean anything to you?
(It's not just Angry Birds, it's other applications too, but I can't remember which other ones)
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
HTC Desire, CM7, 3(UK).
Try formatting and partitioning your SD card using ROM manager (it's built into the CM7 ROM)
Worked for me!

Ooh it worked! Thank you!
Hi, me again.
I was fine, and the problem has just come back, same scenario before (except all apps appear in the market), however more apps do that 0.5 "Starting Download /-/-/-/-/-/-/ " thing again.
I tried formatting the SD card, and re-partitioning, although when I press "format sd card" it reboots in recovery and says "installation unsuccessful" -then there is no option for partition in recovery.
I am completely bewildered and would appreciate any help (again!)
Thank you in advance!
(same Desire, CM7, 3(UK), haven't changed a thing since last time)

(Sorry I posted the same thing twice, I replied to myself by accident first time round, and didn't know if you would get notified or not)

Install S2E from the App Market, open the app and check move download/cache to SD card.
Reboot your Desire and try downloading your apps again!

Market not installing

I've tried placing vending.apk into system/app and then restarting then installing the zip from the sd card, but the market just force closes anyway?... the new market (3.0.26 or something) force closes after i press yes in the prompt to log in with an account.
Would love to have a solution, thank you...
CM7
There is a zip version in the gingervillain thread (development) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=880465&page=979. You could try this one and delete the dalvic cache before flashing it.

Probably an incopatible Vending.apk. If you're sure it;s compatible, deleted the dex from /data/dalvik-cache, and try again. Or use the wipe data option.
how do i tell if an app is compatible? sorry kind of noob at this
i tried flashing that zip andd it gave me an ok in the recovery but when i rebooted it was nowhere to be found..
also should i switch to the stock rom (my friend told me gingerbread for desire is out?) and how exactly do i uninstall any rom to install another? i tried to do one last time and a bootloop scared the hell out of me

[Q] Problem installing / uninstalling apps

Hi,
I tried to install Angry Birds Space last week, the download and installation seemed to complete normally, however once the installation was complete the app wasn't present and the memory the game uses (~24mb) was gone. I tried again the day after and the same thing happened. So I'm now down 48mb of RAM and my phone has started to freeze as there's only ~ 1mb of RAM free. I tried to uninstall the apps in the Manage Applications section but they don't seem to be listed there. Is there anyway I can find where these files are stored and delete them? I've already had to do a factory reset on my Desire twice in the 21 months I have it, I don't particularly want to do it again.
Thanks!
it happened to me too, are still with stock 2.3 (or 2.2) rom?
Best thing I could do was root and flash another rom, and it's really worthed
I'm still on 2.2. Did the same thing happen to you with Angry Birds Space or just in general?
No, I cannot rememeber what I was triyng to install (it was in dec!), and surely, that time, I had just applied the 2.3 offical update for desire (which btw is really awful).
Another thing you can do of course is uninstalling most of your app so that you sort of "clean" your memory, checking if any folder related to these app is really deleted from your sd (you can check in the system directory too, but I don't think you can delete folders without superuser permission). Then try to re-install everything.
Anyway, the suggestion is still the same: try a new rom
You probably just have to clear the cache of the market app, or you can use something like this to clear the cache of all apps
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.infolife.cache
If that doesn't work you can try to clear /data/local/download, that's where the market stores its downloads IIRC (don't know if you can clear it without root though)
Had the same problem. (Not with the same app as you have) but clearing the market cache did the trick for me

[Q] error code installing app

Hey guys,
Im trying to install my paid, SwiftKey board app/upgrade from the free version and i keep getting an error code window popup after download & long-install
Unknown error code during application install: "-24"
ive tried uninstalling the apps, and folders in sd card; are there any other files (like certificates) that i should try deleting? if so im unaware of where the correct directory is.
will a logcat help?
also ive noticed random apps installing by themselves when i wake up(if im connected to wifi all night) ive scanned, still cant find it
im on CM10.1 UNNOFICIAL -ace- SR1 perf kernell

If you never wanted those random apps, it sounds like you picked up a virus (likely from installing an app from a bad source, eg not the play store)
I would recommend a full wipe (sd card and everything). Then put a rom back onto your sdcard and flash it again.
This will (hopefully) ensure removing any trace of the virus (unless the source if your computer, this is possible, but unlikely)
------
A less extreme option is to download a free antivirus from the play store (if possible). Then you *may* be able to remove the virus. Once you remove it, try doing a cache+dalvik cache wipe, this should fix any problems of apps not installing.
If you get stuck, or neither of the above works, let me know
Have you installed gapps?

[Q] "App not installed" Humble Bundle

Got a call from a friend with a GT-N5110 Note 8.0 that I'm hoping y'all can help with.
Friend bought the latest Humble Bundle and tried to install Badland and ColorSheep using the HumbleBundle app. And then ran into two mistakes
Mistake 1 was that she didn't see the warning about turning on the "Allow install from 3rd party sources" first.
Mistake 2 was that she then got a prompt about turning this on for each game install, but didn't notice that there was a second tick box that said "For this install only" and didn't untick that.
Both installs failed with "App not installed" message. She's tried switching on that 3rd party sources and rebooting, but nothing gets those apps in. Weird thing is that ALL the other HB games install fine (after the reboot).
I've tried clearing out the HB's apps cache, sideloading the apk, but nothing works - I still get that "App not installed" message with no explanation WHY it's not been installed.
Is there some security cache somewhere that's not allowing these two apps to install or, failing that, is there some log I can check to see what the problem is with these two apps? I've tried logcat viewers but they don't give any info on software installs, and I've tried the APK's for those two games on my 2013 model Note 10.1 and they work fine.
I could try HB support, but I figure that this is probably one of those "deep in the engine room" kind of problems, so a shout out to the experts on XDA seemed more appropriate.
Please unmount your SD card and attempt the reinstall.
On newer versions of Android, some SD card permissions weirdness started and unmounting on these newer versions seems to fix the install issue on all of my devices.
