The fastest I've experienced was when I was in Factoria area in Bellevue.

Don't know if this has already been made a thread.
I'm sure we're all excited about HSPA+ 42, but what speeds are you getting in your area at the moment?
I live in SF - where all tech lives, but I still don't find the fastest speeds there (12 Mbps on avg). A multitude of factors exist.
However, Chicago's been the fastest for me... so far.
Screenshot of Speedtest.net from Lincoln Park, Chicago.
Range is all over in south orange county, ca
I tried to get my fastest on one screen. It was funny cause all the ones that said 8-9mb all said umts.

I'm pretty sure they are 4g speeds. The guy above you is 4g speeds which are quite impressive. There's a cell tower under "type" which means it's not the WiFi speed.
Mine have been around 8-9Mbps average with certain places getting me up to 13Mbps.
Yea, im dumb. I was looking at the status bars and not thinking the screens were from previous network tests. My bad

I had to go and look under each one, because I had two that were wifi but you wouldn't have been able to tell. My wifi speed tests were 20 and 18mb.

The speedtest results from my OP were all 4g, not wifi, just to clear up any confusion.

Speeds are so variating! Without regard, it still feels fast enough on the SGSII though!
First 3 are Chicago
Bottom 4 are San Francisco/Palo Alto
Depending on the server and time The higher the Ping the better, haha

Chicago only please. AT&T's LTE in the Chicago land area isn't as fast as it is in others markets. I believe they only gave us 10 MhZ whereas every other market got 20 MhZ. So let's see your LTE speeds throughout the Chicago land area.
Coming to Chicago next month, I just hope in populated areas data works, instead of time outs.

In the South suburbs I was able to pull 25mb down, but those towers have far less congestion on them. I can usually pull 4-8mb down on HSPA+. When I see people in Texas pulling 50-60mb down I frown very easily. ):
In a visit I made there a bit over a month ago, I was staying down in the loop one night and struggled to get more than 3 Mbps both up and down, despite being around 10pm. Being that was my first visit to an ATT LTE zone, I was more than disappointed. Had a much faster test (~15-16 Mbps down) while taxiing at ORD.
I'm western suburbs right now and pulling sub ten for both upload and download.
But in the Lincoln Park area I was hitting around 18 for both. Going it starts to speed up like other areas!

Chicago area sucks in LTE speed. I live in southwest where is best area for LTE speed in chicagoland and get down 20-30 mb and up 5-10 mb, but in loop i can't getmore then 3-5 down and 1-2 up
This is the *best* I've gotten, in Lakeview--7.7 Mbps down and 5.7 Mbps up:
Sorry to jack this thread but I just came back from my former hometown of Cleveland. Where they just got 4G. Thought this was pretty good.......

How are data speeds in the area? I'm considering T-Mobile over my current Sprint service. My typical Sprint speeds on my GS3 are usually 80-300 kbps. Sometimes higher every once in an area anyway.
Their unlimited data plan looks pretty good if the data speeds are useable. Thanks!

Also, I just verified for you that Detroit has been upgraded to the new hspa+ 42. This means you will get speed very close to current LTE networks. Many people have reported 20+ mbps downlink using speedtest. You should see some of these on the map.

A friend in my area tested his speeds at the same time I tested mine on Sprint. T-Mobile downloaded @ 7500 kbps, while my Sprint was like 33 kbps.
In my home in Detroit I usually get between 9 and 10 mbps. At my job in Livonia though it gets as high as 22 mbps. So it's kind of spotty but your speeds will always be better than Sprint 's

I go about as far as Castro Valley and I get decent speeds out there. In my hometown (Stockton) I get about 20mbs. You can always contact t mobile and see if there is something wrong with your tower. A few people in different areas have had that problem.

Nice Droid DNA
I'm in Berkeley and I usually get 20-25 mbps down and 10 up, although I did see one 29mbps down once... we've got a tower nearby, that's why.
Also, i tested on the 1900 mhz band and I got around 13-15mbps down and 6-7 up
I get 10~ mbps here in SF. However, around my house in South San Francisco near the lower parts of hickey, I get absolutely horrible 4g service (.1-.5mpbs down). It seems to be a dead zone, but other than that, reception seems to be great.
I work in south sf Millbrae ca on the weekends I do shuttle driving to the air port I get good then it goes down on speed

very interesting, how can you get 10 mbits upload since the maximum on t mobile network is 5 mbits -just hsupa , i beleive they will not gonna upgrade to dc-hsupa witch must be around 10mbits on the upload.
Are you sure you are not on wifi since the upload speeds you saying on 1900 mhz are also incorrect.
The max i have seen is 3.99MBits and i drive a lot in the bay..

I think you're thinking about at&t, they wont have dc-hspa since they have lte. Tmobile is the only carrier to have dc-hspa (42 mbps) which it has branded 4G. I've personally gotten 28 mbps down and 13 up in berkeley.

the specification is clear hspa + 42 is only about the download and u cant get more than 5 mgbits upload becouse dual carrier dc -hspa+ is implemented only on the download side 21x2=42 .this could be only possible if u are using a picocell and then the mobile traffic goes tru your wifi

So, I just ran a speedtest on T-mobiles LTE network with my new Note 3, and I am VERY impressed!
32Mbps Down and almost 18Mbps up
Color me jealous. I don't have T-Mobile LTE where I am, only HSPA. They do list a couple of cities in my state that have LTE, but I'm not really near them at all. Hopefully they'll expand out quickly!

That is pretty impressive. where are you located?
I don't know why, but with my S4 and Note 3 HSPA (4G) I get 27 down and 9 up on average, but on LTE I only get 13 down and 12 up. HSPA seems to be a little faster here in Tampa, Florida than LTE. T-Mobile's HSPA is capable of 42 MBPS and so are the phones. So i keep my phone set at hspa instead of LTE. I also get 4 to 5 bars of signal on 4G and only 1 or 2 on LTE which might explain the speed difference
Just did a test outside near a tower. I got 22 down and 11 up. Pretty decent.

I think they are testing LTE in the Louisville, Kentucky area. LTE hasn't offically been announced, but I'm connected to LTE with 2 bars. I got 9.78 down and 3.34 up which isn't great. On HSPA+ I got 7.15 down and 1.30 up with full bars.
