Error with market on paranoid android.... - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

So I performed a clean flash of Paranoid android 1.992 (along with the latest JB gapps). The ROM works fine and is fast but once I start changing the DPI for specific apps and then perform a reboot, I her an error message when trying to download certain apps from the market. It says "this app isn't compatible with your device".....did some searching but can't seem to find an answer as to why it's happening.
If anyone knows off the top of their head that would be great....if not I'll just reboot and check after changing each DPI to see what's triggering this.
Thanks...

DPI changes cause market issues.
It's a known bug.
Restore the correct DPI
go into the market/play store
dl app(s)
Close/back out of the market/play store
Change DPI
???

Lol thanks a lot I'll give it a go when I flash PA again. I'll post results.

The economist app not compatible with ICS 4.0.3 FC15 ?

I love this magazine and I'm paid subscriber, and I last night I upgraded my custom ROM to ICS 4.0.3 and I'm getting 'this app is not compatible with this device' error.
I have a SG2 running a custom rom.
Any pointers?
Thanks guys!
Where are you getting the error message? From market download?
Usually, most of the apps are running well on ICS. So, if you have an app already downloaded or backed up, try to install the app using backup.
If you don't have any backup, only the way would be going back to previous rom and download the app, backup and coming back to ICS. Try install the app from backup.
My one more question is, did you change the lcd density?

Thanks for your reply.
I tried installing this app by clicking directly on their website, which in turn sent me to the android market and at the top it says 'this app is not compatible with your device'
Unfortunlally I didn't back up any apps.
And no, I didn't change the lcs density, to be honest I dont even know how to do it, lol.
should I actually be doing that?
Is this a mobile echnomist lite?
I was able to download from my ICS FC15 Rom.
[update] never mind. I found the app also from their website and linked to google market.
It seems like only the way would be going back to GB (if you were able to download from there), and save the app. Then comes back to FC15 again to manually install the app.
Ohhh that's a pain in the a.......
maybe I could download the apk from a a website and try it that way?
I DO not recommend but if you can, that would be easiest way until ICS is formally supported.
For me, it worked like a charm in that way.
Now I'm removing the app from my phone.
I have the file, I think it will work for anyone that did not the backup
here it is
edit, I have to have more than 10 post to share a link, I post it on the economist forum ...
Come on Economist!
You would think for $100 a year they could provide a recent app. Think they got their heads shoved up their ipads.
I used airdroid to download the apk from my phone and then upload it back to the new tablet, worked like a charm. However, the app IS laggy with jellybean, definitely something needs fixing, scrolling is very jerky.

Settings/App(Google Play)/Clear Data/clear Cache/Clear Defaults then when you go to Play Store and sign in again it should work. This is how I always clear the not compatible error.

Incompatible with other applications(s) using the same shared user ID

Ok, so here is my problems
I got MIUI Android 2.9.29 on my S3. I just upgraded to version 2.10.26. The update process includes wipe cache, dalvick cache, flash new rom on top of old one without wipe clean, then flash google apps.
After the installation, I found that I don't have Google Maps any more. So I go to Google Market and download Google Maps, and I got the error below:
"Incompatible with other applications(s) using the same shared user ID"
I have searched all over the internet and I can't find a solution working for me at all. Some of the proposed solution that I have found:
Install ROM Toolbox and remove the previous Maps app ===> I can't do this since there is no Maps app in Setting/Application
Install SD Maid and use corpse finder to remove old apps ===> I have done this but still same result
Fresh install of everything ====> Have not tried it yet since I will lose all my settings and SMS.
I would have post it in the MIUI thread but I am considered to be a noob (under 10 post) so can't post there yet. If anyone can help, greatly appreciated it.

No, this is MIUI Android ROM, the option to change dpi is not available. The only ROM that I have seen that allows changing of DPI is paranoidandroid ROM.

Actually you can edit your build.prop of any ROM to change the dpi. But what is the exact error you have? Can you post a screen shot please?

Well, I just nandroid back to my stock, deodexed ROM. If I want to take that screen shot, I got to switch to MIUI again. It is a bit of a hassle.
Basically, based on my description of the problem above, when I go to Google Play and install Google Maps. A message popup with the error message below:
"Incompatible with other applications(s) using the same shared user ID"
When you hit OK, the popup went away and Google Maps's installation is a failure (no installation). Not sure how to fix it. You can read my original post above and see what I have done so far trying to fix it, but none has worked so far. I got tired of it so I switched back to the old stock ROM using Nandroid.
I think the only way to fix this problem is to do a clean installation, but it kinds of defeat the purpose since I want to keep all my old settings in MIUI.
Same problem here any help?

Did you use the same MIUI ROM ver 2.10.26? or it is a diffrent ROM? I don't know about other ROM. But for MIUI, I think you need to do a clean install as the only solution. I have tried to look up other threads and ask for help but no one was able to give a working solution. You can tried some of the method I list in my first post above. Some people say it works (not for me), but won't hurt to try.

Updated modded play store for GB?

I'm running CM7.2 on my Evo 4g (Gingerbread).
I changed my DPI to 200 and ran into the Playstore app incompatibility problem. I've been using a modded Playstore (version 3.5) and would love to update my Playstore app to the latest version.
In my searches, I've found links to updated modded Playstore apps, but they are all listed for JB, not GB.
1. Does anyone know of an updated modded Playstore app available for download that works on GB?
2. How exactly would I install it? (I usually use TitaniumbackupPro or Astro File Manager when installing apps)
Thank you in advance.
Go to goo.im and search for the latest GApps for GB
Extract that file and find the "PlayStore.apk" file
Put that on your sdcard
Navigate to where you put it using some file manager
Tap the icon for the PlayStore.apk file and it should give you an option to install
Install it

SO... you're wanting a PlayStore apk that will work with your DPI settings? Or is the above answer what you're looking for?

The above answer was NOT what I was looking for (sorry Cnexus).
I am looking for an updated Playstore APK that will work with my DPI settings (running 200 DPI and want to spoof 240 to the Market). I'd like it to keep the original sig, so I can still make purchases thru the Playstore app. Basically, I want to keep my DPI at 200 and yet still have full Playstore functionality.
I have a modded Google Systems Framework (GSF) downloaded from the "LCD Density Modder Pro" app... does anyone know if that GSF would continue to work with the updated Playstore apps?

I looked into this, just in case some dev was kind enough to put up a new GApps with the DPI mods... a search on goo.im shows that the last GApps for gingerbread was in 2011. Not exactly the most recent.

It was not included originally cause it already had the sprint and Verizon stuff in it, so I have now added a zip to add back the updater for the tmo build. We changed how it works for my ports.

Unfortunately, Google Play Store Has Stopped

Hi,
since a few days now every time I want to run Play Store i gets " Unfortunately, Google Play Store Has Stopped" :/
I've tried clearing cache and data - no luck, force stop - no luck; downgrade - it worked and I had stock version of Play Store (uhm, odd feeling seeing that version ) but after a short while (i guess it auto-updated itsefl?) the issue returned and I'm again unable to access Play Store :/
Any idea what's happening? Possible (different solutions)?
If your running a theme, try returning to stock theme.
Otherwise you may need to flash an older play store.APK zip in recovery
GL
that was it - yay! it works again! thanks a million!
tho - bollocks as the system theme is a bit so-so - prefere Thyrus Black... would update to it fix the issue with play store?
