[Q] How to Activate/Use screen recording feature in OS, not just S-Note?

I've had this kick ass device for 1 week now and still have not figured how to use the screen recording feature shown in the feature video.
If anyone knows how, please share.
UPDATE: See this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZxrpIC4ohg at 6:45 for the example. This is a hardware/software question not an S-Note question. We would like to know how this is done to enable full screen recording from the "OS / any app" into a video file (eg. recording gameplay or instructional videos and sharing with others.
Also side question for bonus points...How do I link directly to a time stamp location from youtube so that the hyperlink points directly to a specific time in the linked video.

it records whatever you draw on that page, in the order that you drew it. You can then watch it "play" after it is saved.
It's not saved as a movie, however. In fact I haven't figured out what it is yet...I'm still looking for the file.

owh..got it..but i'm still find out something more joyful with recording method..such as recording while playing games.So we can view as replay video..
any idea guys ?

You access it by double-clicking the home button. It is not well publicized, it seems to me, and I found it accidentally on a web site.

Same here... I eventually disabled S-Voice because it sucks (Im also rooted and on JellyBomb). Im updating the title to be more specific to what we are looking for. We will find the answer or Samsung will pay for their lies!!! Just kidding the phone is awesome still...

Hopefully this doesn't come off as rude... If you are still suggesting we use a paid app in substitution for a feature that should be included with the device as advertised, then I don't know what to say to you other than "Incorrect answer"... However your quoted response above does not reflect my assumption.

The built in recording oprion had to be removed in the US due to copyright issues. Screencast works better anyway with many settings options. So yes, I am suggesting you use a paid substitution.

there are a number of apps that do this that are free. I have used them in the past for training.
I was actually unaware of a built in option on the international version and made the assumption the video used such 3rd party apps for the video as many videos on android do for instructional purposes.

Okay, so I tried screencast and it didn't work properly and seemed buggy. I don't know if it was because of the copy that I downloaded (don't ask). Or if it was the app itself. What is the experience of other users of that app?

Works great for me on the latest build. Quality on high and recording at 30 fps.

[APP] Facebook (Touch)

I just want to share a Facebook app i found on Aptoide!
This is an alternative to the official Facebook app. Many people, just like me, don't like the original one because it uses much ram and is always running on background consuming much battery.
The size of this app is 59kb because it uses the browser app for mobile phones, but instead of using the browser, you have an app to keep it simple :laugh:
Changes i made:
- Changed the name from Touch Client for Facebook to Facebook
- Changed the icon to the Facebook icon
- Translated to PT-PT (has English too)

I am 99% positive that it isn't, because it is only a browser and it redirects to the http://touch.facebook.com/ but using an app and not the browser!

This app is called FBM via Facebook in the market. Just installed and started using again. Glad you altered the name and icon. Was going to do it myself until I stumbled upon this thread.

It's not the same app, but the base is the same, uses the touch.facebook.com... The main difference is the notifications, but uses more ram that way.

This is sweet, good job!!

Hmm.. do you think I can find something else optimized for 2G? Besides the SLK notification + Opera Mini combo. They work pretty awesome but the opera mini version of the site has a couple of features missing.

just checked that m.facebook.com is the same as touch.facebook.com... So i guess that opera mini changes the way it is shown so i guess there isn't an app like this one...

Yeah, Opera Mini and Opera Browser both show it the same. It's really fast and good on 2G but has a couple of things missing :/. And I'm not gonna turn on 3G all day just to check my fb for like 5 mins. It'll kill my battery xD

The instructions are a bit confusing, i had to read it some times to understand... Test it

I was curious how much was going to be included on that app since it was brand new.
I downloaded it and the first thing I did was open Google Now and say "note top self". It worked like a charm. Plus you can share notes with any one. It's definitely a go. It might even get the flossy seal of approval.

I don't like that it doesn't take your tasks you already have in Gmail, nor is it easy to get to the web page unless you've bookmarked it...
There's just some overall niggles I don't like too.

Web support will be added later. This was mentioned on Google's blog.
I like that with Google Keep, you can say "Note to self". Keep also transcribes speech to text. Evernote doesn't do that.

Google Now/Voice commands already has that feature (saying note to self) and keep is probably piggy backing on it.

Except previously, it would only email the note verses "Keep"-ing the note.
Evernote doesn't take advantage of note-to-self and also does not do speech-to-text transcription.

Neemot, I really couldn't agree more. While the stock "memo" app is adequate the "Keep" app really excels. I too have been playing with it the last few days and it is awesome. If anyone is on the fence(which it is free so that makes no sense if you are) let me articulate why it is nice.
1. Ease of use. It is simple and uncomplicated. While some other note apps are cluttered with features this really shows less is more.
2. The ability to share. Great for families.
3. Universal voice to text.
4. Great widget.
5. Easy organization within the app.
One feature I would love to see is picture to text. My wife and I keep our grocery list on a white board in our kitchen. We usually just snap a photo of it as we head out the door. If that picture could be turned into a list on your phone that would be pretty dandy.
Well, that's my two cents. In short, Google Calendar and now Keep really help it busy family out.

Yes, I used the "note to self" a lot...didn't like that it went to email, now it's better. I can't wait til they update this more...hopefully they won't 'sunset' it like they've done to a lot of other things...

I would love to see Google Tasks get rolled into this, where you can add a datetime due date/reminder for a given Keep note.

Instagram announced this morning that in version 4.1 of their apps on both Android and iOS, users will be able to import previously recorded video from device galleries. In the previous version that introduced video, you were only able to record video through the app, not pick and choose previously recorded clips. This new importing feature also allows you to trim the clip down and choose which section is centered in the Insta-square.
But maybe more importantly, video recording is now available on devices running Ice Cream Sandwich in this new version.

I updated the OP with a .apk download link. Uninstalling and installing the .apk rather than updating worked for me (im on CM10.1 as well)

I haven't experienced this issue.
Note - It seems that the iphone version is allowing multiple clips and has a stabilization feature while the app for android doesn't. Hopefully well see some fixes soon

On the app information in the play store, it said that not all devices can record video. They will be working on updates to push out support to more devices.

I have the note 2 also. I know of at least 1 S3 user having the same problem. Maybe its only a problem on galaxy devices. Anybody out there got a s3 or note 2 and not having this issue?

Me too, video playback is normal but audio sounds like frickin Darth Vader in slow mo!
