Good luck...the screen/front is one piece and glued to the chassis. There is no way your getting it off without breaking it.

You make it sound like its easy. It requires a lot of patience and someone who knows that they're doing most of the time.
Not at all a simple process.

I agree, not a easy task, too much heat will damage the screen.

All the professional dis-assembly videos on YouTube don't even try to remove the screen...what does that tell you.

Well most of the time its not necessacery because most of the time the digitizer is replaced also when the screen is broken its all one piece. But its difficult but not impossible like I said. The trick is to apply heat I one area and insert a razor blade between the screen and glass. Work your way around applying heat.

That sounds really good. I don't mind my surround being blue, but I do want the screen/soft keys black. I'd have to find a way to make the home button black too. Perhaps paint a white button black with black lexan body paint and swap at the same time.

No luck there anyway. Just battery covers.
EDIT: Now that I look closely at repair videos, it looks like the glass is glued to the frame. Swapping it out isn't trivial and risks damaging the screen. Damn.
Yea, the colored part that you see on the front is where the glass is adhered to the metal frame. as you said, it can be done, but it's not exactly easy. I'm just glad i got the blue instead of the white one.
Looks like I'll have to find someone local to trade with

I doubt it because lg screens are a bit complicated and ppl are scared to attempt it. However there are how tos on YouTube you can follow. I would go with the link I gave since the two pieces are attached. With the separate piece you might have to loca the glass to the LCD so u don't get an air bubble in the middle or dust in the screen after time. My first time fixing my Note I didn't use no loca since none of the vids instructed to do so. Worst experience ever, thank god I was able to take it apart and redo it.

I have replaced 3 screens on the OG(mine and 2 of my sisters). It is super easy only hard part is getting the glue behind the screen hot enough to take off. Other than that super easy got a phone repair kit from radio shack for like $12. I can tear down and put back together in like 5 minutes now.

DO NOT touch the battery if it gets poked or bent out of shape a little it will go bad very quickly. Obviously unplug it from the board but thats it, and its only 2 connections to get the screen off the main board. Everything is pretty easy once you get inside. I watched a video and that was a huge help.

Well...personally I would heat that one up and remove it to be replaced by a new grill. Google the part and also check out a couple teardowns. You might be able to reshape that white plastic once the grill is off too. Good thing she didn't get the glass !

I would take a look at a teardown guide. See if you can get a busted htc one on ebay to replace the back part or just try and bend the section that is bent.
There are some tear down guides on iFixit and also on youtube. Would post links but I don't think that is allowed.
the same exact thing happened to me. Dropped the phone, dented the upper right hand corner. What i did was buy one of those invisible body shield cases and put it on.

I saw one where the dude pulled it apart without heat, and showed there was no adhesive at all. Someone said something in the comments about how it'd be easier to use heat, and apparently this guy had done it both ways and the only difference is that using heat makes it hot as balls and hard to handle.

yea, not too hard but its held on with adhesive so you need to pry it off its a bit tough. You would need a new back to replace since the old adhesive wont hold again.

Back covers are sold on ebay, or if you google it other places as well. You would just need to heat the back up a bit with a heat gun or blow dryer and use a thin tool preferably plastic (so you dont damage the frame of the phone) to pry one edge up and start pulling off the back.
