Not possible the builds that made both of those kernels possible are different from the ground up. From video, wifi, data, etc. If your so concerned about battery life from your device why dont you buy a larger battery.
is there any other kernel that works with cm9 and supports undervolting?
maybe the Mjolnier or what he's called?
edit:
to answer your question:
because the stock kernel + stock rom has good batterie life...

Ok... can someone please tell me what HAVS, CFS and SVS means?
HAVS - no idea
CFS - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Completely_Fair_Scheduler
SVS - no idea
lol... i guess google is my friend
HAVS (Hybrid Adaptive Voltage Scaling) What this does is provide SUPERIOR BATTERY
Really? Anyone else use these kernels? Whats the risk, is it risky like flashing a Radio?

No, only thing is some undervolted kennels might not be stable so always nandroid before changing kernel.

Brill - I have some Nandroid backups, so if anything goes wrong the recovery will still work, and I can restore... excellent. Thought so
AOSP Kernel for SENSE ROM?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=FAQ#Kernel
here's a link with "all" neccesary informations
--------------------------------------------------------------
i would like to add a new question in this thread:
is it possible to use an AOSP Kernel like: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893484
with my SENSE-ROM ? (currently using ReflexTSense http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=791315 )
thx
No, at least I know that way. You have to use a Sense kernel with a sense ROM, like this to run without problems.
so there's no option to use newer Kernels with Sense-ROM's ..
thx for the information
Sorry to break into your thread, but does it work the other way round? I mean, is it possible to use a Sense kernel with an AOSP rom?
sense with asop and the other way
i tride som ASOP Kernel with my SensHD Rom and it worked "booting
i found a flickerning screen but it worked; i refalashed a sense kernel
i think that the other "Way" should also work with some "issues"
greetings..
ps: i somewhere on thos forum found a discussion between two ROM-Programmers about using ASOP Kernel in Sense roms.
As far as i remember they both found the conclusion that sense-kernel are using differetn Graphicdrivers so that a asop kernel never will run "full" with a sense-rom but the ASOP Kernel COULD be modded in "future"
New owner of a HOX here.
I see that the kernel version of my stock ROM, and of all the custom ones, is 2.6.x.x.
Isn't the new ICS Kernel 3.x.x? What gives? Seems like it's running on the GB Kernel...
there is no 3x kernel for hox yet! all kernels ar second version kernels
And why is that? I mean, the HOX's bootloader is unlockable so can't someone just port it? From the CM9 ROM for example?

there is already from kholk/eternity a 3.4 kernel in work...but its not soo good and here and there are some bugs...
Hi
I have a question for what I did not find a straightforward answer;
Some back story: I have an Xperia Arc S with stock .587 rom, I wanted to unlock it so I payed on a site to unlock it with point test {if this is the correct way to say it}, the simlock was removed 'yaay' and they also unlocked the bootloader. so a few days back I wanted to play around with kernels and roms, tried lupus with xperia hd 3.0.2, I didn't like it, don't ask why, and I wanted to return to stock, I messed up, soft bricked the phone...long story short, today I resolved the problem and I managed to install the stock rom again.
TL;DR; Can you use the Arc S stock rom with Lupus v10 kernel ? and does anybody have any experience with it ? worth ?
Thank you
If you have any other kernel suggestion that would come in handy too :fingers-crossed:
Greetings from Hungary.

As an old Arc S user, I'll tell from my own experiences..
Using Lupus or any custom made kernels that are made with the purpose to give you overclock options and alternative CPU Governors on stock & non-rooted ROM.. It isn't worth it, because you will not see any difference in performance.
Tweak and debloat .587 ROM in case you are going to use Lupus kernel, I am saying.

Sound interesting, I mean I don't really care about performance, that much, the only thing that I noticed with Lupus kernel {or I guess whatever kernel} is the battery life increase.
I'm still thinking and searching the forum to find a good answer, I have no problem with the stock kernel + rom, but if a custom kernel would give the same performance + better battery life that would definitely help
ps I have no idea how to tweak and debloat[ i don't even know what that is] :silly:

Well, battery life can increase if you are using the right CPU governor and I/O Schelduer (spelling?).
But the increase in your prefered option (BATTERY LIFE) isn't that big on an extended functionality custom kernel, I think, on stock & bloatwared ROM. It can be even worse.. Some battery tweaks in build.prop and some init.d power saving tweaks / scripts can help perhaps.
Best is to try it yourself! Be aware of partial wakelocks, Sony got some bad behaviour with applications that wakes up your Arc S..

houcha kernel put not booting.. E975 Custom kernel I can't find it anywhere.
I'm sorry My English skill is not so good.
There is no custom kernel for CM. Houcha works only with chad's rom. Why?because they use totally different sources.
Official CM is based on LG source, while chad's kernel is based on a Nexus4(Mako) source. So, houcha won't work on official CM.You will end up in a bootloop, stuck at LG logo. The only way to repair is to enter recovery and flash either official cm, either chad's cm.

Thank you ~
About E975 custom kernel is not and then what?
Why do you need custom kernel?
to make overclock?i don't know what phones you had before, but on G you don't need OC.

With proper display settings and no heavy-processing apps that are running in background, I don't think you can extend your battery life any further.
With some normal usage (few sms, some news reading, no games) i got it to run for 2 days on CM10.1
How about you?
Did you check in settings what drains your battery?

The battery of my time, was about three hours screen lights up when you use one day. I hope to improve a little more here.
And now, I have E975 kernel production.

every user uses phone different. so no best kernel. also different tweaks in all kernels.
i recommend kirks
Lineage Official with Blackbox Kernel
(Not Tested but Good Screen On Time)
i have tested few kernels that are good and didnt have any glitch/error after flashing, i suggest codeX kernel if you want more customization and Derp kernel for simple kernel .
