Add Shortcuts to AOKP/JB - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

How do I add shortcut to my lockscreen? I've looked everywhere I want to add 2 more instead of just camera, unlock and google now.

Can't yet. You could install widget locker or something similar and use that.

I have had bad experiences with 3rd party lockscreens (as in they constantly FCed and never unlocked my phone). Make a backup or Titanium Backup if you can before using one of these 3rd party lockscreens.

Cm7.2 rc1 has lockscreen options in cm settings there are several types of lockscree. Styles to choose and customize. If you use go launcher ex they have go locker with lots of themes, if u go to cm settings/lockscreen options and set the lockscreen to none go locker will be your primary lockscreen and there is no annoying double lock

Creating invisible "hotspots" on homescreen - Is there an app for that?

I'm currently using wp clock for my homescreen clock. Previously I used fancy widgets which allowed me to map the weather icon to weatherbug, and the battery percentage to settings. Because wp clock is a live wallpaper and not a widget, I can no longer do this.
Is there an app out there that would allow me to assign an invisible area in the 2 corners for functions like weather and settings?

the closest thing that I can think of is circle launcher. you can configure each individual widget to only have one icon/app plus you can make the circle widget completely transparent.
an alternative would be to use a 3rd party launcher (ie apex or nova) that allows you to change icons for any given homescreen icon. than just use a transparent icon or pic.

I'm already using apex, I may try your custom icon idea. Would be nice to be able to resize area to 2x2 though.

What is lost using Apex or Nova

What widgets, functionalities, and/or apps is lost from touchwiz by using nova or apex launcher?
I use nova, haven't noticed any features missing.

The only thing I haven't figured out how to do with Apex that I can with TouchWiz launcher is change the wallpaper of both the home and lock screens. Can it be done?
Yes, just go to security I believe. The options are at the top.

Well technically touchwhiz is still running even when you install a third party launcher so you shouldn't be missing any built in functions like smart stay, direct call, etc. I haven't noticed any functionality loss due to installing Nova at all.
Thanks for the input. What about widgets. Coming from Sense, a lot of widgets were lost when I used a third party launcher.
I use apex.... And yes you loose the touchwiz widgets. There were only a few from what I remember as I hated touchwiz after 3 days, it wastes so much screen relistate. So you loose the touchwiz calendar, email, clock, and photo widgets..... I'm just going off memory though there might be more.

The only thing I miss is being able to organize my app drawer into folders. I have yet to find anything with
APEX that allows me to do that. But there may be something out there to accommodate folders, but I'm not aware of it. If anyone does know or if it's built in, please let me know!

you don't lose the clock widget...
On Jelly Bean, what you lose is the ability to just toss items off the homescreen. You physically have to drag items to the "x" to remove them. You also lose the auto organizer feature when you drag widgets around.

For some reason in apex, it makes my widgets 5x(X) even though they're normally 4x(X)

While you can't do that in Apex Launcher (as of the time I am writing this), you can always go to Settings->Wallpaper (It will be under the device category) to change the lockscreen/homescreen/homescreen&lockscreen wallpapers.
Using Apex or Nova also does not allow the badge functionality you have on touch wiz. You know, the little red icons when you have a missed call or email message. It's a bummer as I do like this function; however, Nova is super awesome due to its gesture function.

Nova Prime ($4 in play store) has "Drawer Groups". I have all my apps categorized into communication, games, multimedia, shopping, and system tools. Those folders show up at the top of the drawer, and all the un-categorized apps show up below it.
I think it's still not as good as the ADW Launcher that was built into CM7 that I was using on my DroidX. With that I could make shortcuts on my home screen to an individual category, so the kids could easily get to games and only games.

Did you have to get the pro version to not lose the clock widget? I tried the free version, and wasn't able to get the clock/weather widget

I like the weather widget. I tried like 4 different launchers and it was not available on any of them. If anyone can figure how to make it work in nova or any of the other launchers, I'll switch over from touchwiz.

Lock screen widgets

The four lock-screen widgets are OK (the calendar is the most useful I feel), but I was surprised that there was only 4. Are there any others out there?

Mizuu has just updated to add some.
Personally, I've turned lockscreen widgets off for now.
Hopefully more apps get updated to support this feature as right now it's a bit useless

There are more in the play store, search "4.2 lock screen widgets"...its mostly clocks, but any thing new is a plus!
EDIT: There are double as many apps as when I checked yesterday, new widgets, a lot more. I can only assume this is a glimpse of what's to come.

If you don't like the 4.2 lock screen clock there's the Nexus 4 clock that allows you to add the 4.2 Analogue clock to your lock screen. I've also added the IP Widget that allows you to add a Widget to your lock screen that provides network status.
In the UK there are only 3 Widgets clock, calendar & gmail by default for some reason, what's the 4th default Widget?

I believe it is Google Sound search/Ears. I don't have it either (Finland).
Yes it's Google Sound Search.

I wonder why Google didn't unfreeze Sound Search with the 4.1.2 updat where Google Music is available now.
In Italy it's missing too even though there is Google Music since mid-november

Looking for a lockscreen app...

I've updated to 4.3 and lost the shortcuts on the lockscreen when using a pattern lock. I also don't have 4.3 widgets I the lockscreen when using a security lock.
Does anyone know of a good third party lockscreen app that still offers good features when using security? I miss the quick access to my camera app from a locked screen.
