I use cronmod a2sd+ with jelly bean and it works great. I use it cause it works with ext2 or ext3 or ext4 and s2e and dta2sd works only with ext3 and ext4. And cwm and px recovery change your ext 4 (or ext3) to ext2 when you restore nandroid backup. I never lost my apps since i use cronmod. It is a script in init.d so i think you need a custom kernel.

No you do not need an external SD card to flash a rom. The internal can be referred to as an "sd" too.
The process of rooting, getting a recovery going, and flashing is elaborated on within these forums.

1click root for 4.4.2 ROM?

I have tested on my phone and seems its working. I am not sure whats happening when there is active Sony ric service (I have disabled them since already have chargemon replaced). Simple install apk and run root, device will reboot. After booting your phone, establish adb shell connection and type "su", if you get root than probably everything is working! If you get root but can not get system rw than probably tool is not enought for us since sony ric service need to be killed (we need kernel module hack for that)... let me know! If some one found source code of the tool let me know!
Don t work for me

Doesn't seem to work here either... It just makes the phone unresponsive after a while.
Doesn't seem to work on stock 757 build... According to logcat mount rw step fails immediately after rain button is clicked but the app keeps running and will eventually reboot phone after some time...

didn't work on 757
pc did restart ,., on adb shell, at su command ,., su not found.,.,,
Hmm where is ric service started? In ramdisk?
If yes we need to use this exploit to get root, stop ric service and then mount system.
What is the ric service actually doing? Does it just prevent the system partition to get mounted?
Sent from my D5503 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Pretty sure the app can successfully get root but on Sony devices there is still RIC security which disallows write access to /system partition. So currently it's pretty much useless for us unless someone finds an exploit to disable RIC security.

Everything important of the app is inside libexploit.so. Basically it copies all the necessary files for SuperSU (which are also bundled inside libexploit.so) after running the exploit.

Well to try it someone needs to do the following:
1. Go to recovery and wipe /system
2. Install system flashable zip without dualrecovery bundled (maybe some of my old files or make a custom)
3. Install SuperSU flashable zip
4. Try file from link (not the flashable)
+ need to have locked bootloader.
I might try it after work.
@munjeni maybe you can edit the thread title to something like "[Discussion] Porting new root exploit"
Bad news guys, tried remountrebootfix but it can't mount root filesystem as rw. I also tried the exploit from Z2 section but no chance since we don't have kmem device
Guess geohot's exploit can only be useful to backup TA partition.

It seems that in z1s thread there is a similar discussion taking place, hopefully we can apply their findings to z1c as well.

There might be a good chance it will work. I will look into porting geohot's app, I have an idea
