I Truely am desperate. I haven't had good luck today.
I dropped my phone in water, but apparently, the water damage indicator (white dot) hasn't turn red yet...
Mine booted up fine.
but the headphone mode is stuck. The button functions (on the headphone) randomly work without headphone plug in, say like if someone call, it automatically answer or decline randomly...
the camera is also dead. I cannot connect to my camera.
so how should i come about fixing this.
I'm putting it in rice for now hopefully it'll be better by the morning.

I dropped my HOX and I got another HOX with working mainboard. I replaced it and everything worked except for very faint backlight and flickering. So I disassembled the phone and put it back together again. Now I can't start the phone anymore and the solid red led burns when connected to the charger....after I connect it it flickers one time, very fast. Does anyone have an idea what it could be? So pissed of right now...
Hi, if you don't have any power at all eg no vibration or lights on three bottons at the bottom, it could be that the power connecter is not properly plugged in. follow cabble down from power button, plug is hard to get at unless you unstick power button from cassie.
If you have some power check lcd is working by using a bright light near the screen and closely checking to see if you can see anything, could be backlight not working.
just my 2cents
feel bad for ya!

Okay, I have experienced the same thing and I'll tell you what I did to fix it. I dropped my HOX after owning for only a few days and the screen was cracked. I ordered a replacement LCD/ screen digitizer part and took it apart. One of the things that I found was that there was adhesive everywhere, including adhesive on the connection to the battery.
After it was taken apart, I attempted to test the new screen. It was then the LED turned solid red and the phone would not power on (even after 10 minutes of charging). What I did was remove the adhesive from he battery connector and disconnected the battery completely. I plugged it back in 10 seconds later and it turned back to flashing green (which is normal because I had several missed texts).
So my solution was just to unplug the battery and it worked just fine. The hardest part about this whole process was putting the cover back on, especially on the side with volume buttons! Hope that helps.
I have exactly the same problem. The difference is that now that I took it off charge, the red light is flickering on and off. I cannot get the display to show! Please please help.
Short story...this weekend I had my Gnex about 2 feet from a hot tub and was periodically changing songs on it, getting drops of water on the screen and sometimes wiping it off with a towel. Fast forward to an hour after leaving the hot tub (with a fully functioning phone) and my battery dies during a phone call. I plug in the phone (powered off) and a few hours later turn it on to see the screen black/white fuzzy like a tv without reception. I restart but see the same. I pull the battery and shove it in rice for a day... the phone vibrates upon powering up but now nothing at all shows on the screen. I dismantled the phone today and saw the water sensor attached near the charging port is pink. Any thoughts on how I can salvage the phone? My computer recognizes the Gnex but the folder appears completely blank. This phone has been through much worse, I can't believe small droplets on the screen did this. Thanks in advance for any advice.
Hi
Got a water damaged nexus 7 2013 over here, as soon as it was dropped in water, I turned it off and dried it off before taking it apart and letting it dry out. After putting everything back together the tablet worked wonderfully and the only remainder was a little bit of water under the touch screen and I think I made a big mistake by ignoring that.
After about a week, the battery was dead and needed to be charged, I plugged it in and the led blinked 5 times which is normal so I just left it. After coming back I noticed that the tablet was pretty hot near the cpu and of course, it refuses to turn on, it doesn't blink 5 times anymore, my computer doesn't beep anymore, it's totally dead.
Things I've tried so far:
Connecting it to my pc without battery and screen connected (I know it should blink 5 times as well if no battery is installed) and nothing
Trying to turn it on without daughter board connected (should still show google screen, I have done this before) and again, nothing
Trying to turn it on without screen or daughter board (I know I had a notification that made it beep when it turned on) and nothing
I took it apart again and noticed that the connector on the actual lcd was very corroded and I just assumed the screen was causing this but apparently something else is broken as well.
Anything I can do about this?
Thanks
Hi, I'm sorry to hear about this unfortunate accident.
Firstly an advice to anyone reading it -- in such situation, turning it off is not good enough and one must disconnect the battery ASAP! That's because the power switch is actually only like a standby control and unable to completely cut off power supply. While off, full power is still available to all mobo's voltage regulators as well as LCD's backlight converter and its local power regulator. And then accelerated water corrosion and damage starts...Remove all metal shields from the motherboard and clean up corrosion residues. The LCD is gone for sure, so test it out again with the mobo and peripheral boards only, looking for the notification light's blinks. If it works, check if you can get picture over SlimPort connection.

I used a multi-meter to test the battery and the cells are @ 3.4V not sure if that's enough to turn the tablet on tough... I'm letting it charge for a while now to see if my computer picks it up
EDIT: the battery voltage when not connected to the board is 3.4V, the battery voltage when connected to the board is 0.34V. That can't be good
EDIT2: the cpu is mildly warm but the PM8921 battery management IC is burning hot after leaving it to charge for a while
I wrapped my phone wıth plastic stretch film and recorded some video underwater, but after second video obviously my phone got wet and phone got into boot loop, after an hour or two it started working again, i watched some videos on internet, then it started to restart again till red circle logo and again and again. I put it into rice for 24 hours but no luck. Can get into fastboot and recovery mode, phone is charging but nothing else. What to do?
I'd say buy a waterproof phone [emoji849]

Sorry - "Stupidity knows no bounds!"
I opened back cover of the phone, after 3 days. There is a connector which i guess is responsible for vibration and speakers. When i disconnect that cable, phone worls properly except sound and vibration. As i connect it back to the mainboard, it starts bootloop again. So either there is something with that flex connector, or port on the mainboard. Right now I'm writing from my Oneplus 5T
It fell face down. There's no visual damage, but it won't power on anymore. I tried charging but the front light won't even turn on. I did the power/volume button trick. Nothing works.
I think something got knock loose. It's now within warranty. Any ideas?
Thanks
Will
I got it running. I watched an I-Fixit video on how to take it apart. I could see where everything was on the inside without opening mine up. I squeezed the phone and it started working. I guess the battery cable jarred loose when it fell.
