Question

Hey is there a mod to enable the Froyo ROMs to have drop down recent tasks like the gingersense ROMs have? I'm sorry if this question has been asked before but i didn't find anything on it.

I really doubt it but you can always just long-press your home key.
that's a feature of sense 2.0, not gingerbread. so only sense 2.0 roms have that. so no, you can't, without installing a sense 2.0 (or 3.0, which is better) rom.

Quick settings

I've seen roms that have more settings available in quick settings. Is this possible with sense? Thx

yes, most roms have extra quick settings in them...in our tsm rom we just have the extra 3 that are available in sense but not enabled by default
i believe in one of newtoroot's roms he ported in ihtfp's new quick settings from skyraider athena on the tbolt..so that probably has the most available for any sense rom on our phone

A script you run once and it does some modifications to your init.d I believe. That's the extent of my knowledge on it. What I can tell you tho is that my speeds increased after running it.

yes I am talking about multitaking.....apk close when 3 or 4 apk r running in background. .......
Sense 3.5 had bad multitasking due to high resources needed for 3d rosie and else..
If you want good multitasking, you can use sense 2.1 rom or hybrid sense 2.1 + 3.0.
Or you can use sense 1.9 for better multitasking..

Or you can leave Sense altogether and go AOSP. :-D

You can use RCMixTweaks under Settings (if your ROM has it installed) to change 3D effects to 2D to save resources for multitasking.

I would choose CM7 because of the relative speed vs tweak options in it, but that's me. Check the Desire Index thread for the list of AOSP to try.. it seems to be updated now.
In AOSP I would think CM7 as the bloated one because of the tweaks they have in it. Go with Oxygen or Redux2 or dGB for more barebones Android experience.

Thank you :highfive:

You can remove sense launcher and other sense stuff using Titanium Backup
Be careful though
Thank you! :good:
Is it called HTC Sense Desktop? I'll do a backup in the recovey first.
You can use custom rom if you want to get rid of sense. There are bunches of avilable rom. This is only a suggestion.

I'm pretty sure there's a toll somewhere in the Dev section
Edit: I meant tool
sent from a phone that's running on a rom
mrcorey, what do you mean by toll?
Thanks for the tips, but I will stick with Sense. The custom roms are mostly buggy. Nova+Stock is ok for me and it was worth a try.
